The official Chavi and Carla and friends off topic thread
I'm great, thanks! It's really warm here at the moment for this time of year and I spent some time outside today and then made last preparations in the flat we're renovating at the moment because the plasterer is coming tomorrow... then I went to town and met my best friend who is visiting for a few days. We went to a club but we felt sooooo old!! There were only children so we left early.

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
March 24, 2010 - submitted by Mile, Colombia Q. Dear Oracle, I was wondering, were the members of the band aware of the chaotic situation in Bogota because of the transport strike? They can't imagine all the obstacles most of the fans had to pass to get to the line (at least in my case), I don't know what they saw, but in Bogota we do use public transportation usually :) Pls say that they are going to come back to Colombia soon. Thanks The Oracle replies: Chris was told about the strike whilst having his breakfast on the day of the show; he was very worried about how fans would get to the concert. I myself saw the protests in the square but was assured by Miguel - our very hospitable guide - that the fans had waited such a long time to see Coldplay that they would literally walk miles to get there if they had to. Judging from the crowds it would seem he was correct. It was such a shame that fans had a struggle to get there and hopefully it was well worth the effort! I can't lie and say the band will be back soon because you know how long it took for that visit!

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
March 24, 2010 - submitted by Thomas, Netherlands Q. Dear Oracle, I just wanted to say that the new album by Goldheart Assembly is really good. How do you think about this Folk-rocky band???? Cheers The Oracle replies: Oooh this and the last question answered arrived at the same time so we must be hungry for new bands eh? I have to say that I really like the band and am glad our friend Simon is involved. They remind me of Fleet Foxes and Mumford & Sons; that's a good thing.

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
March 24, 2010 - submitted by Carolyn, United States of America Q. Dear Oracle. Do you and the boys like the band The XX? Thanks in advance. The Oracle replies: I recommended The XX to Guy during the tour so hopefully he will have had a listen. I saw them support Florence & The Machine during their last tour and bought the album as I think they're great. Dunno if the rest of the guys have heard it yet but am sure they will...

Post pieces of music in films you like
Bump! :P I like the ones posted here already, thanks! There is one great song during the credits of Jesse James, but sadly it's not on the soundtrack. :disappointed: Thankfully I wasn't the only one loving it so here it is: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA9yTIiSQdA]YouTube- Final Credits Music - Assassination of Jesse James (2007)[/ame] This was playing during the credits of "V for Vendetta": [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wg_0-KEr8RU]YouTube- Ethan Stoller - BKAB (Speechless Mix)[/ame] I've never seen the movie but I work in a cinema so I hear credits music quite often and I loved this one. :) Not exactly a film, but does a mini-series count, too? I bought the soundtrack to Children of Dune immediately after watching it... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtcnt_VkvGU]YouTube- Children of dune soundtrack - Summon the worms[/ame] A recent one I really love is from Up in the Air: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnS3fLyRZDs]YouTube- Up In The Air Soundtrack - "Genova" by Charles Atlas[/ame] I also liked the OSTs of "Revolutionary Road" and James Horner's "Southhampton" (from Titanic) gives me goosebumps every time.

Chris martin has C.O.D
There have been worse threads than this one... but did you ever think about where those definitions come from? I think most people don't even know exactly what it is. (And Hypomania isn't that bad a diagnosis to have ) If anyone's interested in this, I advise you for a quick read to read the Wikipedia article about the Classification of mental disorders. What is essential however is the definition part Those definitions are made in the context of what is considered "normal" (whatever that may be) which varies between cultures. This changes over time as well, more things get added, some removed. Lots of discussions involved... If you are more interested, read about DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) and ICD-10. In general it appears to me that people are often too quick with giving a layperson's diagnosis... it surely makes it easier to describe a certain pattern of behaviour however you should be careful to "shelve" people (if that is the term). :uhoh: I don't know if it makes sense what I'm writing here, but I just wanted to say that it varies what is considered "normal" or what diverges from the norm. End of long post. :P

The Funniest things your parents/family ever did/say about Coldplay
Haha, yes! Most of the time you just hear the rumours again. Like "Your band is splitting, did you hear??" :laugh3: I think it's cute when people tell you stuff they heard about sth you are interested in. My best friend called me to say she read an article that you can download a free Live CD from Coldplay. That was one week after we all waited for LRLRL to appear on the website however and got the 320kbps version before anyone else. Can't remember who it was who found the link before it was actually posted as news on CP.com but it was great! This is just another way of saying that this place is awesome :awesome:! Have a nice day, Aurélie, talk soon!

What's it like sitting between strangers on an airplane?
:lol::lol::lol: I was just talking about that movie 2 days ago! About the trip: I flew on my own several times and it has never been awkward. Flights weren't that long though. If a conversation arose it was polite and nice every time, but in most cases it just doesn't come to it. Take a book, magazine or mp3 player with you! You shouldn't consider these people around you as "enemies" :), I'm sure it'll all go well!

The Funniest things your parents/family ever did/say about Coldplay
Salut Aurélie!! Yes, it is hard to pronounce!! She's laughing herself every time she wants to say it. Sadly her last name isn't easy to pronounce as well, so no help. She's so cute. When she sees an article somewhere about her, CP or other things I'm interested in she keeps them and shows them to me.

My Coldplay Stuff In MTY, MX - I GOT MY PICTURE WITH COLDPLAY IN BIG SIZE :D!!!
Thank you Eduardo!!  It's short like you said but it gives an impression what it was like!! Must have been funny to stand there and see the other people while you wait for "your turn" to talk to them and pose for a pic! Did you write to the organiser if you'll get the picture in a higher resolution? Fingers crossed you'll get it.

The Funniest things your parents/family ever did/say about Coldplay
Those are both hilarious!!!!!   My mother has learned in the meantime. It's no longer "cooled play" but pwoper Coldplay. We're working on pronouncing "Gwyneth" at the moment - that's the advance level. She's not really making progress however. Still sounds more like "Gwen-at". :laugh3: :P

Chris and Jonny
Katja, I love that one. It's such a small moment, yet so hilarious and a perfect example of their humour. Jonny's smile is simply disarming!
