  1. ok guys, first of all - if you are underage, you can stop reading here, i tell you, such things are a lot of work to do and young people always suck at this. also, your parents will be hell of a lot angry with you if you harm the expensive piano!!) you will have to remove the keys. i can't help you with that, sorry! but -if it's not already like this - write numbers on each of them to remember where they were! then remove the old paint. i recommend sanding it down (= using sandpaper + hand work or sandpaper-turning-thingy-machine (you know what i mean, don't you ?! haha :D) ), this will be the fastest solution. ONLY SAND THE VISIBLE SURFACE, NEVER TOUCH THE SIDES OF THE KEYS!!! well, those sides that touch each other i mean. this is VERY important to remember, otherwise you might screw your keys. they will most likely have veneers. it's enough to sand these, or even only roughen the surface. use a suitable varnish (ask your local paint store) that is black / white or black / white paint + clear varnish. if you realise now, that this procedure is completely unnecessary, because you won't always like that painting and you won't be able to use you piano for weeks, then congratulation, you are smart! if you still want it, do it yourself (and always ask experts for help, or you might screw it up!!) or ask at a piano store if they can do it (definitely better!!) or if they have/can order/can produce those keys (they are normally used for organs, so you might be lucky) HOWEVER: personal advice: don't just simply don't do it....
  2. hey buddy, take a look at the following picture. if you look hard enough, you can see a) how the dl4 is set up and b) what is painted on the dd5 (you see the circles and the dots/lines marking the position how to turn it) http://www.guitar-rigs.com/images/buckland-gear.jpg also: please take a look at your PMs ;)
  3. dammit i hate you :P it's not princess!! it's prince + sanji (princes would even be misspelled) ... which in turn is OnePiece-related
  4. Hey everybody! Bonjour tous le monde! tach leute ;) Well, I'm Robin, i'm english... ha, no, french:P... just kidding, i'm german (honestly!):laugh3: i'm not too new, but i have one thing in common with all of you - i'm a coldplay fan!! you won't see me around here much, at least not in the "normal" threads, mostly the music/instrument/live performances of coldplay - related ones. i hope we can be friends ;) bye for now! ps: 1. yes, i do speak english, french and german 2. does anybody have a clou what avatar i could use? i'd ike to stay, and to make myself feel more comfortable, i don't want to stay "faceless" (most people recognise a user by his avatar first, when they are browsing through the forum e.g.):embarassed:
  5. tach ;) sind echt mehr deutsche hier als ich dachte... vie spaß noch :D
  6. what does guy do in the chorus of lij? same as the guitar? or, well... is he doing anythin special or just 8th all the time? ps: hey,why are you "in pain"? not good.,. =(
  7. well, i have a thin myself. the pickups are good for crunchy rhythm parts. melllow / soft tone at the neck, thin and twangy at the bridge. both together build up a massive sound that has a pretty unique character. though the neck pu is strong, the bridge pu allows to play melodies. the neck has a u shape - you like it or you hate it, there is nothing in between. i love it... it's available in sunburst and natural (yeah really, the other colours seem to be discontinued or only as custom shop - maybe - ). i have it in sunburst, which is totally awesome. my vendor of choice told me that he has had natural ones in the store in the past, and that they don't look too good at all, pretty dark, more like honey, so i recommend taking a look at it in store and not to trust the internet. use it for any kind of music, but hard rock, metal and stuff like that are not for that guitar all in all - it's a good choice! have fun!
  8. true, a jazzmaster is not for rockers... but a normal strat isn't the best choice either. if you'd go for a strat, take a fat strat ( or HSS or whatever), they have two single coils and a humbucker. though, no doubt, the jaazzmaster has a totally awesome sound. i wish i had one myself.
  9. if you don't like the semi hollow thinline, go for the telecaster deluxe! it's got the same "wide-range-humbuckers" as the thin... coldplay use them (deluxe) , too... actually it's chris ( chinese sleep chant (i guess?), gpasuyf remix, don't panic,...) there are some other telecasters with wide ranges, just have a look around ( http://www.thomann.de , there you can search for them) personal advice: get a jazzmaster
  10. i prefer the green dunlop tortex .88mm or thin & thick stainless steel (dunno the brand, nothing written on the pick), they will never be worn off... also: i like to file the picks back to normal shape, if they have been used too much... i even make them a little edgier... works pretty well....
  11. um, yeah i'd like to know, too! i ain't no drummer at all, but well, some coldplay songs are quite easy (speed of sound, trouble, politik, fix you, white shadows, clocks , ... stuff like that)... also: what kind of toms does he use for speed of sound and white shadows/ which toms does he use generally? (size & tune...) ps: your english isn't that bad.... i'd say, so at least... maybe i just can't notice because i'm learning english at school, too (in germany, yay !) //sind schon einige deutsche hier, nicht? hätt ich garnicht gedacht...//
  12. i got it too, it's quite useful, but not 100% accurate... um, question: is there any real difference between hal leonard and wise publications? isn't this just about copirighty areas? (one is selling in europe and whatever, the other one for usa and canada?) @ technicolour liver (or anybody having the hal leonard one) could you upload a page? (any, please with text...) i'd like to compare hal and wise...
  13. maybe they use it sometimes... just for fun... honestly, i don't think that they're so picky and take their time during a concert to pick a particular pick (i am overdoing it a little bit, am i not? ;D )
  14. hey, i'm asking this here because the real tab section is not too into the books, and i guess you are.... has anybody the Parachutes TAB book? well, it's mostly about: -Spies - Everything's Not Lost - We Never Change - Sparks - Parachutes (= the songs you won't find in other tab books) can anybody help me out? thanks people!
  15. i just started but... Gnossienne N°1 by Satié
  16. personally - it's wrong, i know - i'd play it standard tuned. do the "half-open-chords" (or whatever you'd like to call them; just use your thumb on the low e string!!) like the intro/chorus, it's : Badd(b5) 799800 F#m7add4 244200 Aadd2 577600 G#madd(#5) 466400
  17. i'd say the head is different...
  18. -->sorry, it was doubled<--
  19. i honestly couldn't decide... speed of sound, white shadows, square one, shiver... can't get you out of my head :D :D :D (just trying to learn... in coldplay-style of course)
  20. day & age? heard of it... what band? killers? u2?
  21. heyah, i'd need the Lead Guitar Solo after the chorus and generally the part after the chorus (end bit...) of A Rush Of Blood To The Head from live 2003 rest is pretty easy i suppose (at least i sound extremely close) and of course the lead guitar for green eyes
  22. i just wanted to give the real thing... you can see chris doing these chords --> guitar isn't standard tuned
  23. chris doesn't play these chords... the tuning is E A D G C# C# then he uses these kind-of-open chords like: F#m 244200 D (10)(12)(12)(11)00 C#m 9(11)(11)900 A 577600 G#m 466400 Esus4 022200 E 022100 these should be all the chords needed...
  24. we'll make that, too, my friend ;)
