  1. depends on your amp/EQ settings! normally, i cut all the basses off...
  2. well, there's only a full LITii instrumental...
  3. huh? chris uses specially shaped strings?! did i miss something? are they rectangular? octagonal, hexagonal or whatever? twisting? hollow? :D
  4. coolio :D what guitar is it?
  5. you sure bout the ebow? well, makes sense if i think about it... though it doesn't matter a lot... at the proper concerts (at least in 05/06) he's not using one either for WS. oh, btw: capo on 2nd, then sliding with the open C major chord
  6. um, yes :D you know, an amp or the "integrated circuit" for an operating amplifier (op-amp IC) is normally not bigger than 0,3cm x 0,7cm ( = very small ;) )... of course you need some additional parts...
  7. ??? do you have a picture? (or internet-link) and what is it actually ? and how much did you pay eventually? :D
  8. huh? why the hell do you buy stuff without knowing what they do and how they are used? :D ok: delay: repeats the input signal a set number of times after a certain time (you have to regulate that yourself). a form of the delay can be an echo.... chorus: the input signal is doubled (or generally multiplied), though these copies are a little detuned, producing an effect as if there were more than 1 guitars - more or less, personally i think it just gives it a little "spacyness" and wider range in sound. overdrive: simulates the effect of an overdriven end-amplifier. the sinus waves are cut, which distorts the signal and adds loads of harmonics to the signal. overdrive = distortion = fuzz , ACTUALLY, though as time went by, those different "forms" of distortion or their names achieved a connotation so everybody know's what's meant, because they do sound different. overdrive is often referred to tube amplifiers with their softer, fatter sound, distortion describes the general effect, tough a distrotion pedal normally refers to solid-state-amplifiers, harder, edgier sound... and fuzz... well, it's real "dirty"... before the invention of overdrive etc., people literally cut holes into their expensive loudspeakers... and that makes the typical "fuzz" sound.... pretty technical, eh? short: delay: BAP...Bap...bap...bap............. chorus: uueeuuuuuueeuuuueeuuuuuueeuuuuuuee (not like a siren, just detuned) overdrive: deaaang (or whatever :D just distorted , haha^^) ----------EDIT------------ before i forget: you would need an amp, yes. as an alternative, you could hook it up to some headphones.... normally, those pedals have little amps (pre-amps) built in, so the signal is loud enough to be heard with headphones... maybe you can plug it into a stereo-/hifi-system to hear it even louder (that's what i do in my bedroom where i don't have my proper guitar amp)
  9. ( now that you mention it, stephan, i did actually... but i suppose it's ... bad :D) yea, try to make something out of it...
  10. demo 2009? well, they are more like demo 2006/2007 ;) sorry, there are none so far... mainly because there IS no guitar in that songs, and hardly anyone would transcribe piano-stuff to guitar... i guess i've seen chords around here in the instrument room... keep looking ;)
  11. um, to in my place: i guess you need to set the delay speed up to 2xBMP of In my Place
  12. um, he isn't ? i can't see him doing chords... he's only using one flat finger in one fret... (not all strings at a time, but some...)
  13. um, i'm not ok with you when it comes to the 2nd verse, try: e|--9---9--9 b|--9---9--9 g|--9---9--9 d|--11-11-11 (etc) is better i guess ^^
  14. it's easy to play 3 or 4 times the same note, or the notes in different octaves , just by putting your finger down on one fret... you can play a lot faster with ffffff and it gives you an extraordinary sound you couldn't get by drop d or standard tuning...
  15. maybe depends on effects and also guitar?
  16. it DOES ! i'll upload an mp3 soon (just finished this minute...), prooving it is possible... but be warned: 1) i AM lazy, and i just took my telecaster thinline instead of a bass (didn't wanna walk :D), so sorry, it sounds awful (i should have turned off the chorus.... lazy however) 2) sorry for the poor chord stuff afterwards (after the bass part) , it wasn't planned... you can hear that because i wasn't on time with the beat at first... in the end you'll hear the riff jonny is doing live (instead of the piano), it is as usually not confirm with the beat, but sadly, i didn't turn off the beat so you'll hear how creepy it actually sounds.... edit: here it is: http://www.sendspace.com/file/adg45v
  17. that was what i meant with jools holland... it IS ffffff tune your guitar ffffff and you'll see it is
  18. your first choice is the best one!
  19. ever tried it with a sponge? or a thick brush... and don't be careful, just mess with the colours, let it drip...
  20. well, just from remembering how fast 200bpm are, imagining a 3/4 and the COL bass to it... seems to be correct EVENTUALLY, there IS kind of a 3/4... 4/4 is not correct. the best measure is 6/8 (if you passed 5th grade at school, your mathematic brain will say: "ooh, 3/4 equals 6/8!") however, the beat is: 76 x 1.5quarter beats per minute i can't describe that properly... 76 dotted quarter notes per minute at 6/8 (or 50+2/3 bpm)
  21. well, do you have a vid with jonny playing drop d? i've only seen him ffffff (nissan live, later with jools holland, live at the bbc, other stuff)
  22. although not being correct, i think the bass fits 3/4 pretty good
  23. personally - i don't like them and they are not good remastered (especially lost)
  24. watch trouble at bizarre festival 2000 ! it's a black one! (i assume he got a black and a blue one?)
