  1. he's bending in the pre-chorus and in the solo - what do you mean?
  2. c'mon, jonny ain't doin' nothin' difficult, righ'? :D easy there, what you hear in the intro and in one of the verses is this: B|--5h7-5h7-5h7------------------------------ G|--------------------6h7-6h7-6h7-6h7-6h7 he's continuing that for some time, if your guitar player is that good as you say, he'll know when. (if you don't know: h = hammer on; jonny only strikes the 5 and 6) chorus (better do it as in the sessions, well, i don't have the album song here to compare, however, @AOL he does the following) B|-------------17---17------------17---17-------------17-------------17---17------------17---17-------------17 G|--18----18---18-----18----18---18-----18----18--------------------------------------------------------------- D|----------------------------------------------------------------19----19---19-----19----19---19-----19----19 B|-------------17---17------------17---17-------------17-------------17---17-------------17---17-------------17 G|--18----18---18-----18----18---18-----18----18------16----16---16-----16----16---16-----16----16 D|-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (of course it is repeated. 2nd time until the last past begins...) there is an easier version to play this. however, the lead guitar doesn't have to be tuned somewhat different, all standard tuning e|-------------12---12------------12---12-------------12--------------12---12------------12---12-------------12 b|--14----14---14-----14----14---14-----14----14-------10----10---10-----10----10---10-----10----10 e|-------------12---12------------12---12-------------12---------------12---12------------12----12-------------12 b|--14----14---14-----14----14---14-----14----14-------12----12---12-----12----12----12-----12----12 with your "special" tuning, you'd have to play the 14 on the high d string btw: it's Capo on 2nd fret, not 3rd
  3. first of all: Album - Version - Cover or Accousic - Cover ? in other words: E- or A- Guitar ?
  4. i suppose they will go like "huh? what the heck is he talking about?!" reading this :D does he/she know how to play chords by name?|||||||||||||||||||EDIT||||||||||||||||||||| well, they would be: F#m D A (last time it's F#m, D, A, E then back to A) in the beginning, you could just play the A for the whole time, until half of the first verse, then you start with the other chords... then, play them over the whole song or in the chorus play these: F#m D C# (last time it's going down: A,G#m,F#m, again E then A) hope he/she's good enough to know when to play the chords.... oh, and keep the volume low, you hardly hear the guitar
  5. take out the basses ! eq: hi 100% mid 50-60% lo 0%
  6. ever tried it with EADEAE ? awesome i say! the chords for the main theme are: (sorry, dunno the correct names now, let's give'em numbers) 1) x-10-9-10-0-0 2) x-5-4-5-0-0 3) x-12-11-12-0-0 4) x-7-6-7-0-0 hope this helps? btw.: same tuning as Scientist !
  7. did he use the jerry d. tele for High Speed or just generally, instead of a thin? however, he DID have a thin... at least for their tour & live appearances (see on youtube, "Coldplay live Spies", must have been chicago or whatever, 2001)
  8. i suppose jonny is using his Jaguar or Jazzmaster, that sound is not coming from a thinline (that's what my ears say :D ). um, then i would take the Jaguar and switch the Out-of-Phase Switch on, using both pickups... effects: delay else: switch to the rhythm circiut/circuit/circut/whatever (how do you spell that?) during the verses
  9. D'oh, if you really have searched the whole internet, you would definitely have found relusts here on coldplaying!! look in kapone's therad or one of those newer ones, i posted my version there ;)
  10. you suck :D i mean, err... more TABS and less chords ;) ;) ,)
  11. hey there! you said you'd have Glass of water.... so, will you upload it? huh? huh? HUH? :D
  12. to 42: sorry, but the guitar is tuned FFFFFF ! and as effect you should use a chorus... of course, your tab would be good for those having only 1 guitar, but for those with more guitars (or at least 2, so you don't have to tune up and down one until your strings break), rather play the guitar tuned in FFFFFF, it sounds awesome!! though... it would be enough to tune the A, D & G strings down/up/down to F
  13. well, an epiphone is an epiphone, not a gibson, but after all, they are very good. @drumz12 no way, sorry, there's no chance that it's nearly as good as that gibson. don't worry, a lack of guitar knowledge isn't that bad, that'll come with time
  14. huh?! HORRIBLE! IF you begin with the 13 on the e string, then you're a semitone too high... though if you'd like to continue, you HAVE TO play 10th fret on the g string... what jonny actually plays is that: e--12----12-----------9-------9------ b-------------------12-----12------- etc. pp. g-------9------9---------------------
  15. i'm on the chords btw. ... but so far, stuff i've read is not correct... maybe he's only doing powerchords (not striking, picking individually) on the a string and picking the e & B string also... in the beginning at least.... @Questionsofscience well, the chords themselves when they would be played to that song live, they would fit
  16. how do i find out what cymbals i have? i got my dad's old drum set... 3 crashes, 1 ride, 1 splash and a set of hihat all that is from zildjian of course they are used, and if there ever was a black printing, it's gone... only a stamp ( = hit into the metal) saying zildjian - genuine turkish cymbals... oh, except for the splash, it's got a huge "K" on it
  17. you thought you might be a ghost... F5 (powerchord) or F major.... you didn't get to heaven... Bb5 = A#5 (powerchord) or Bb / A# major... btw: the electric is tuned FFFFFF ;)
  18. i indcate a strike with an s in this part, a r after a slide means slide+restrike...~ means let ring for a bit e|--------------------------------------------------------------- B|---s14\12-------------------------------------------------- indexfinger G|------------s13/16---s16\13---------------------------- middlefinger D|---------------------------------s14/17~---s16~\r11-----ringfinger to 17, 16\11 with middlefinger this is played along with chris' singing, you might have to change a little thing here or there, but you'll get that easily Chorus e|--16---16---16-16-16-16--16-16-16--16-16--16-16-16--16-16-16---14--14--14--14-14-14 B|--12---12---12-14-12-12--14-12-12--14-12--12-14-12--12-14-12---14--14--14--14-14-14 G|--13---13---13-13-13-13--13-13-13--13-13--13-13-13--13-13-13---15--15--15--15-15-15 that is repeated 4 times... you can vary that in any way you want (i mean the strumming pattern and changing of the 12 / 14)
  19. sorry, no! frankly, it's hard to seperate, but you mixed the guitar with the bass line! not bad though. if you'd like to play the bassline with the guitar, then do the powerchords over the e string like the following: E|-2-2-2-4-5-5-5-4-0-0-0-4-7-7-7-4 repeat 3 times then ......... E|-2-2-2-4-5-5-5-4-0-0-0-4-7~-7~ (let the last 2 7-powerchords ring, each for the length of 2 strokes before - i suppose these were 8th notes, so the last ones are 4th) aah, whatever :D
  20. sorry, that was atenia ;) though i'm still convinced that it's wrong! my version jonny: Use whammy: e|---------------11---14-------------------------14-16 B|-14----12-----------------14----12----11---------- (Riff1) Riff1 Riff1 Verse (normal GPASUYF Riff that is used between the verses) Riff1 Verse Chorus (normal GPASUYF Chorus Riff) Riff1 (turns into Talk...) if you need the normal gpasuyf riffs i can look them up for you or write them... just ask
  21. there is no way it's not backtracked. think of guy, playing the drums firstly, then he plays the bass, but his drumming doesn't stop - i assume they use loopers (like the boss rc-2 for example)
  22. umm... i guess you mean the bongos and tambourine?
  23. well, all that depends on the tour / songs in the setlist: he needs 3 toms mainly for X&Y-Songs, he got 4 different toms though i couldn't say that he changes tham during a concert... i believe he got is drums equiped with triggers, so he'll be using a drum processor... or not, i have no idea... and don't forget he got himself a new drum on ebay, also a bell and some more stuff
  24. get new strings! then turn your reverb up as much as you can, bring a lot distortion to it and use the neck+middle PU otherwise: get a 72 telecaster thinline or a telecaster deluxe or a 72 telecaster classic player thinline (or whatever it's called). the differences won't matter that much here...
