  1. i found out (for my amp, but i think you can apply that to any), that for quite a lot of songs, the following equalizer settings sound good: High: full Mid: 1/3 Low: cut completely then take your thinline, hook it up to your ts808 and your amp and set your ts to 1/2 (gain or whatever). use the bridge PU.... for shiver, you could turn up your ts to max., then after the intro turn the volume ON YOUR THINLINE (!) down a little, about 1/3 HOWEVER: there's so many songs and effects and settings... you just have to find out yourself!

  4. Guy has already gone Epiphone before that bass! remember him playing mandolin? that's an epiphone, im 100% sure! (there are pretty good pictures from "live at the bbc" as proof) btw: do not underestimate epiphone! if you pay 500€ + , you get awesome instruments. YES, there are better instruments, BUT in most cases you also pay a lot for the name THOUGH, epiphone has a good reputation concerning semi-acoustics!
  5. inndeed, colophony = rosin it's the stuff that enables the string to vibrate by pulling the bow on them
  6. you just grab the part that's called frog (thicker piece on the end where you tighten the bow's strings) with your fingertips (well, you do this in order to play violin or any of these classical instruments... i cannot try it ...) oh, and a common reason that it won't make any sound is: you forgot the colophony. sticky stuff that is put on the bow's string. it rises the drag between instrument string and bow. if you move it on the string, it will stay attached on the string and quickly release, and again etc... that happens (depending on tone/note) a couple of hundreds/thousands of times in a second. that's what makes it sound. also, you need to spend your guitar new strings! they need to be absolutely clean from fat or any of that stuff. means: you may not touch it where the bow is supposed to be. (also, do not touch the bow's strings either!) hope that helped a little to understand...
  7. huh?! arpeggios? didn't you (everyone i mean) watch the vid? the way he is playing is not accurate, there's no time for keys and arpeggios :D :D i guess he plays the f in the LH and in the RH he plays 3 times 2 notes. the 1st is higher than the 2nd. when he played them first, he moves up octave does it again, then another octave above that's what think is possible... but hey, who'd want to copy them 100%? better improvise a little on your own... =)

  10. he's only improvising while they played it first because, the genosienne part after politik(he's doing that during VLV tour only so far) and the chromatically downwards going melody after gpas.../talk remix, both are standard and always used throughout vlv tour. so he thinks about what he could do, but he's not varying (as far as i have heard!)
  11. oh, how's about the backing tracks for speed of sound and square one? (those spacy pad sounds, youu know what i mean?) so basically the stuff without vocals, guitar, bass and drums... =)
  12. that's ok too ;) but as much as some advice: do not go for a real acoustic! you must have a well temperatured room (steady temperature, not hot & cold changing). important is also that there is no floor heating! the room mustn't be too humid but also not too dry, and last but not least they need to be re-tuned every couple of months (3-4 i guess). (oh, not to forget: they are hell of a lot expensive!)
  13. that is definitely a mistake ;) try to use your thumb, then they should be right. (thumb is on low e string, 2 frets below the two that are doubled, e.g.: 9-11-11-9-0-0 or also 5-7-7-4-0-0 see? 9 is two frets lower than 11, 5 is two frets lower than 7 )
  14. wow, cheap! my clp202 cost me about 2000-2500 (dunno, my parents bought it)
  15. 1 blues harp = harmonica 2 of course there are tabs! the holes are numbered and you can either draw (d) or blow (b) (and even bend, like on guitar). e.g.: 3 4 3 3 b b d b that would be a blues harp tab
  16. they are the same chords i told you, they are just inverted or played another way! he's using the book also, so i think you already downloaded the pdf... means you got them! all you need to do is reading them correctly ;) ps: the lyrics in the video are wrong at the end (after sing aah...)
  17. go with any of the Yamaha CLP series. they are very good! (i play a CLP-202 myself). also, they are not too expensive. forget about the keyboards. i'm not saying they are bad, but go ahead with one of the others

  19. never. it must have been done by real professionals! he didn't even paint his guitars himself ;) EDIT: A new idea just popped up in my mind! get yourself black and white PVC (which stands for polyvinyl chloride by the way) tape. easy to cut, easy to install, easy to remove! i suppose that's a good alternative! good luck everybody (i might even try that myself)

  21. sorry, mit tutorial wird nix =( der erste akkord ist übrigens Bb-D-F (b vorzeichen beachten!!) versuchs so: (RH = akkorde; LH= oktave) RH|----Bb------Gm7------F-------F--------Eb------Cm-------Bb-Ebsus2-Bb** LH |Bb----A-G--------G-F----F-F---F--Eb----D-C-----C-Bb-----------------Bb **du spielst in der RH den Bb so: F-Bb-D dann hälst du F-Bb und gehst anstatt auf das d einfach auf Eb. genau genommen wäre das der Ebsus2 akkord. dann wieder den Bb akkord
  22. i don't play it exact.... i'd play it half by ear and using the chords + melody line though, it looks harder than it is! but i'd change the right hand, the downwards going feel of the song or the "fills" between the chords sound better in the left hand... (i mean that it's played an octave or two lower)
