  1. I've seen far more negative threads in my time here. This is not only comparatively tame, but it's taking an objective look at an aspect of their music. After all, we get a gazillion "Favorite Lyrics" threads, right? Why can't we have one for the least favorite? And yeah, my dislike for that Prospekt's March lyric is due to the fact that it attempts to twist a common catchphrase but comes off as really cheesy in the end.
  2. "Don't you wish that life could be as simple as fish swimming 'round in a barrel when you've got the gun?" I love that song, but...sheesh.
  3. My Advanced Photoshop class started today, and my professor played Fix You over the speakers. I'm going to like this class.
  4. There, I told you those cheap-looking drawings beforehand weren't real. Isn't this much better? I agree that Will looks a bit odd, but everyone else looks great (some guest stars look awful on The Simpsons). I'm sure FOX will release a high-res image online some time soon, as they always do for promotional images.
  5. It might be a while until the next Killers album, as the band plans a "hiatus": http://www.nme.com/news/the-killers/49294 And it's NME, so it's not just simply some tabloid garbage like before.
  6. It's finally official. Muse to headline Coachella: http://kroq.radio.com/2010/01/19/jay-z-muse-and-gorillaz-to-headline-impressive-2010-coachella-festival-lineup/ Kinda sucks for me since I would never go to the festival, meaning I have to wait until possibly next fall for Muse to come to Los Angeles again (Matt mentioned something about that on Facebook). Part of the Coachella contract is that you can't play any shows in the two months before or two months after the festival in So. Cal.
  7. Rooting for Coldplay, but I have a feeling that Morning Glory by Oasis is gonna give it some big competition.
  8. Under the Table and Dreaming - Dave Matthews Band

Help Is Round the Corner - Coldplay
  12. Sparks is a song I've loved more and more over time, but I agree with you about Lhuna. It seems more like a Kylie song than a Coldplay song, and it has a very uncomfortable feeling to it (uncomfortable songs can be good, just look at Radiohead, but Lhuna's just bad).
  13. I sincerely hope that the decision to stop playing Speed of Sound had nothing to do with the Clocks comparisons or the fact that Chris sometimes mocks X&Y. I got to see it in 2008, and it was one of the bigger sing-alongs of the night.
  14. Might actually be my favorite Vampire Weekend song on either album, in spite of my earlier complaints about Contra.
  15. 12 years? Wow. And I've been part of the fandom now for like...almost four. At age 12, Coldplay is officially an old, grumpy, senile act that enjoys buffets, bingo halls, and yelling at kids to get off their porch. Happy birthday, geezers.
  16. "Do you want a Twiglet?"
  17. "Lost+" can go fry in a genre-crossing inferno.
  18. Then again, that would be giving this guy the attention he doesn't deserve.
  19. Silly Chris Martin! Trix are for kids!
  20. Love the song, but like I said, I'm not a big fan of music videos shot live. I guess I suck too. :P
  21. I think Chris mentioned it once - why is it that only their popular songs are accused of plagiarism? I mean, at least be different and say they stole something like a B-side...
  22. The number of shout-outs we get means that we at Coldplaying either: A) Are badasses. B) Have no life due to our obsession. C) Both of the above. I vote C. :P Great blog. Good to see them so energized so shortly after setting the place up. Now we just need pics of the outside so that Coldplayers can find the place, just like with the Bakery.
  23. I dunno, after a few listens, I think I liked the first album better. Not that Contra is bad, but I feel only a few key tracks (Horchata, White Sky, Holiday, and maybe one more) stand out. "Cousins" is pretty average for a single, especially compared to "A-Punk". (I think White Sky was the mystery "preview" track I didn't recognize when I saw them a month ago)
  24. "Resistance" as a single was pretty predictable. The last single will likely either be "Guiding Light" or "MK Ultra". Here's hoping for the latter. Well, UD was a digital-only single. Let's hope they don't do that here. Plus, several radio stations have already started playing "Resistance" way before its release as a single. I'm not a fan of music videos shot live, which is kind of a drag since "Resistance" may be my favorite off the album. But man, would I kill to be in a crowd that intense.
  25. Beerfest: 4/10 I'd only seen the second half of this movie before, and it's a movie my friends think is hilarious. So I finally watched the full thing. What the hell was that?
