The Musical Review of the Awesomeness that was 2006
Well, it's a lackluster RHCP effort in spite of a few great songs, so that may be why. Oh, I forgot about Grizzly Bear: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuYZbYtAl9A]YouTube- Grizzly Bear - Knife[/ame]

BBC6 Music: EMI says Coldplay 2010 album release is UNTRUE
Not surprised and it's probably for the best. It's a little soon and a lengthier recording period will likely yield a better product anyway. Plus,. the boys need a good break. 2011 for sure.

U2
Live or in general? If you mean live, I wouldn't know, but if you're not familiar with them in general, I'd listen to their debut album - "Turn on the Bright Lights" - NOW.

The Musical Review of the Awesomeness that was 2006
HOWDY HO IT'S WEASEL STOMPING DAY!!!! A few of the "more obvious" ones I'd like to mention: The Decemberists - The Crane Wife [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbsHwuyfnnw]YouTube- The Decemberists - O Valencia[/ame] Eskimo Joe - Black Fingernails, Red Wine [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxlXVoaKbzw]YouTube- London Bombs - Eskimo Joe - Thebby 3.9.06[/ame] Phoenix - It's Never Been Like That [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owD3d1S0LFg]YouTube- Phoenix - Long Distance Call[/ame] Snow Patrol - Eyes Open [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzbePMTfSak]YouTube- snow patrol make this go on forever & lyrics[/ame] Hard to pick a favorite album from this year, as there's a lot of good stuff but not one that jumps out as being a perfect work of art. Many of my favorite alternative bands (Muse, Keane, Snow Patrol, The Killers, etc.) released albums this year that were very solid but not their best.

Rate the latest movie you've seen
One of my favorite movies. The House Bunny - 7/10 Second time seeing this, mainly because my friend and I turned off "Year One" after 20 minutes because we thought it was beyond stupid. It's more of a chick flick, but it's one the male audience can at least somewhat enjoy. It's nice to see a little role reversal with the female filling the typically male role, and there are some good laugh-out-loud moments. It's not a deep comedy and it's kinda slapstick at times, but I've seen far worse.

Rate the latest movie you've seen
17 Again - 5/10 I was actually expecting worse, given how it's the fifteen gazillionth movie to use such a plot device. But there was some quality humor in parts, mainly from the brother character. Doesn't change the fact that the movie tried nothing new (not a single thing), though. Gonna see Shutter Island next week for a class report. Looking forward to it.

HAPPY 33RD BIRTHDAY, CHRIS! (March 2nd)
Chris Martin? More like "Old Fartin"!:rolleyes: I'll bake him a metaphorical cake. To represent the delicious respect I have for him. Then he can metaphorically not eat it. To represent that fact that he's never heard of me and probably doesn't care what I'm posting in his birthday thread.

Coldplay wake up song
I have no Coldplay alarm, but Politik's a good one. Nothing like waking up to "BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM..."

Broken Social Scene
I was totally just going to post that, but I was taking the time to listen to the song twice. Great to see BSS back in action. "Forgiveness Rock Record"? My mind is boggling in an attempt to decipher the meaning of that. Forgiveness for their lengthy absence? Forgiveness for other rock that has been crappy? Forgiveness for the decline of the record? I forgive you guys, dammit. :P

2004 was the year after 2003
I thought The Bravery sucked until actually seeing them live a few months ago, who weren't half-bad. Then again, I had only heard their hit songs up to that point. Maybe I should check out their early stuff.

Vampire Weekend
According to Pitchfork, the video for "Giving Up the Gun" will premiere tomorrow on Spinner. Definitely one of my favorite songs on Contra (which I do like more now, but still not as much as their debut album).

Big News Was Today!!!
I can see it now: "NEWSFLASH! ROADIE #42 FINDS MONEY IN TELEPHONE BOOTH!" Actually, that makes me wonder about #42 in general and how often he'll be doing his blogs for the LA tour.

Big News Was Today!!!
Oracle is a she, if I'm not mistaken. ;) No photoblog is disappointing, but maybe it'll be something really awesome like a live webcast of one of the concerts, U2-style. :D
