  1. Well said!
  2. nasty thread This thread has some mean and nasty posts, but here goes: 1) Oasis 2) Radiohead 3) Bon Jovi 4) Arrowsmith 5) Nirvana
  3. marginalization sucks (kind of) Chuck, my friend: You ARE on the margins of our North American culture. As am I. Although it's not the most comfortable place in society, it is your place, by your choice. And I wouldn't have it any other way. We need and benefit from your voice. Take heart! Eveything's not lost! You have honesty, integrity, a superior intellect, insight and human compassion. Come back. We miss you.
  4. That's my plan too (especially since they don't seem to be getting the emails I send, offering myself to them for any purpose - I know they're not getting my emails, 'cause if they were, they couldn't possibly resist responding) ! I'll be attending my first Coldplay concert July 30th in Toronto. Thanks for the warning about post-concert withdrawal. I've expeienced this kind of reaction before, after experiences of great joy. The last time was two years ago when I first travelled across the Atlantic to visit Scotland. I am still trying to find a way to return to the place that captured my heart. This also happened in 1993, when I first visited the Canadian Rockies and Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. I think this effect is connected to my sensibilities as an artist. When we open ourselves to the full emotional experience of an event, we allow ourselves to be vulnerable to its effects. Sometimes it hurts a bit, but I'd rather that, than not have had the experience at all (a la Lost+). When I first discovered "Fix You", tears did stream down my face, not from sadness, but from the joy that comes with the personal, emotional experience of something profoundly beautiful. I'll joyfuylly pay the emotional price of admission for Coldplay. I'm well aware that many will find my comments cheezy beyond their tolerance. Their loss. I'm very happy to have stumbled upon this thread, hoping you folks will be here to help mop me up after my first live Coldplay experience. Viva La Vida!
  5. who? Wasn't that Satriani's crew in the other van? :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::lol::lol::thinking:
  6. who? Wasn't that Satriani's crew in the other van? :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::lol::lol::thinking:
  7. sorry So sorry! It only occurred to me after posting that not everyone would had seen the latest episode. I will use the "spoiler" feature next time. At least the remaining characters are now aware that something is very wrong!
  8. agreed! :D is that one of your fave lyrics btw? One of many - but yes, I used it twice today. Once about the CoCM and once about the puppets :smug:
  9. They are heritics, unbelievers, blasphemers[/b] and a bunch of real shits too. I believe in Coldplay, among other people and ideas, but not in any church. Igues that makes me a heretic and blasphemer. As for "real shits", is that as opposed to "fake shits"? If so, give me real, don't give me fake
  10. enuf with the puppets already! Does anyone else here think that the puppets are getting very tired and need a VERY long rest? :smash: The puppets were great in the LIT video, and I'm sure Dan is having great fun, but show us Chris, Jonny, Guy, Will, Phil, DebsWild, Anchorman, the Oracle - anybody related to Coldplay - but enough with the puppets (IMHO)! "Give me real - Don't give me fake!"
  11. thanks for the additions Thanks for adding to the list! And as of the most recent epidose: The large friend of the groom who was burning the money. And now the bride's little step-sister has disappeared - but is she .......DEAD!! (I think not!) Oh the terror!
  12. why does anyone care? Honestly! I don't understand why the Gallaghers get so much attention - other than that they demand it and the media give it. Liam is such a bitter, unpleasant man that he has zero credibility. Ignore them and maybe they'll go away forever!
  13. count 'em Let's count the deaths so far! 1) the guy lashed to the ship's screw (not the ship's crew) underwater 2) the fell-through-the-bridge and got-gnawed-in half-uncle 3) the groomsman who was entrusted with the found money 4) the woman who hanged herself 5) the vice-vicar 6) the bride's father (they did notice that one) Did I miss any?
  14. semi-finals And Susan makes it to to the semi-finals. Next installment is May 30th in the UK. Go Susan!
  15. amusing Yeah. The central characters are finally, after 5 (?) episodes, starting to notice that the wedding party and guests are dropping like flies!
  16. None of which is pertinent to the celebration of Miss Boyle's talent and refreshingly real personality.
  17. The fascination is due first, to her talent and second, to her breaking through the social barriers you mention. It's a joyful celebration of her victory. What I don't get is why some people feel the need to rain on her parade.
  18. DAAoHF After buying my 1st CP CD, Viva... (having been enticed by the single Viva La Vida), it was the rhythms of Death and all of his friends, and Lovers in Japan that hooked me on Coldplay. I moved on from that CD quickly, but I still especially love the irregular beat in Death and All His Friends. I assume Will was responsible for that. I'm very much looking forward to the fruits of thier new experimentation with complex rhythms. Can't wait!
  19. my art Great thread. Thank you to all who have posted! Everyone is welcome to visit my website, http://www.coulas.com but shhh! - don't tell anyone that I'm Ziggy. :shocked2::lol:
  20. Survivor Tocantins (favourite only till tomorrow when it's over) Q: 100 years from now, what group/band, currently together, will be considered to have made the biggest contirbution to social change in its time?
  21. let the litlle children come unto Chirs 10 Who can resist 'awe-ing' at that pic.
  22. can't wait Thank you for the reviews and pics. Yes! Reign of Love!
  23. I know these guys! :biker: :indianchief: :cowboy: :policeman: The Village People!
