Everglow
I quite like it a lot, it's nice to have a new slow song to enjoy. I am liking the faster tempo new songs as well, but this song is quite growing on me. I also loved his "surfer accent" in the interview at the end of that song, ha ha

Coldplay World Tour 2016 - 2017 Discussion
I've looked at a few of the stage setup pics on ticketmaster for the uk shows and it seems like its standing only on the floor? Hard to tell from these pictures..I'm looking forward to knowing more about the stage/seating set up for this tour. And just guessing that the North American tour will have the same design. I missed the g/a area when they didn't have it anymore on the MX tour

Adventure Of A Lifetime
I really like it! Have played it on repeat a few times. And was eager to get on the forum and see what other people were saying. I enjoy my music a little more upbeat and was relieved to hear this song. I am so curious about the other tracks!

Where should Coldplay visit for their next world tour?
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It seems they only ever go to Montreal and Toronto, but what about the East Coast? They were here for the Juno Awards in 2007 (I think that's when it was). Surely it wasn't that bad of an experience and they'd come back?

Any good bands to recommend to me?
I'm glad I found this thread - more music to check out. Thanks all!

WE'VE FOUND THE BAKERY!! *NOW WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF* UPDATED FIRST POST!*
I wanted to ask a question and didn't want to start a new thread so thought I'd post it here since it has to do with meeting the band. I am entered in a contest to go see Coldplay in NYC and it includes a meet & greet. First of all fingers crossed that I win....but if I do I am afraid I will choke when it comes time to actually meet them. What do you say other than "I love your music!" ??? Any ideas?

Do you listen to Coldplay everyday?
I'm not sure if I do or not. I don't make a plan to listen to them everyday. But I would say probably at least 5 out of 7 days of the week if not every day. I love listening to music and have to listen to music everyday or I'd lose my mind. It depends on the mood what music I want to listen to. And it seems whenever I can't decide what I'm in the mood for - Coldplay always fits the bill. I find with a lot of other bands or genres I get tired of them partway through my workday, but with Coldplay I can play it all day and not get tired of it.

Any explanation to go with the above picture? I saw it on their facebook page and was curious about it. So naturally I came here to see what the word is on the pic

Midnight
My sentiments seem to jive with a lot of the ones I read. I was very surprised by the sound of the song, but love that type of music so I loved that Coldplay was doing a song with that sound. However, it is different than the types of songs I'm used to hearing from them. It didn't seem like there was enough "band" instruments in that song. Although I think it's a clue as to the overall sound of LP6, I'm thinking there will likely be some songs that sound more like the Coldplay I'm used to hearing. I was so dissapointed to realize I couldn't buy Midnight on itunes yet. I can't wait to hear the next release.

I am so happy the forum is back...
Have to say my thanks and excitement too. Although I never posted much, I always loved to come here and see what everyone was saying. And like many of you, was feeling lost when Midnight came out and I had no one to talk about it with. YAY for colplaying forum!

What Coldplay merchandise do you own?
I've been wondering about the new Coldplay calendars, and rather than start a new thread I thought I'd ask here. Has anyone received one of the new MX era calendars? I am very curious about the spacing where the dates show up. I want to order one of the calendars, but from the pics I see on their shop, it seems like the date part is really small. Which is great if I only wanted it 'cause it was Coldplay merch, but I actually need one that has big enough squares to keep track of my busy schedule. Anyone have any pics they can share? THANKS in advance!

Xyloband starts glowing 3 days after concert
I wondered if certain colours work on the same frequency because we have a total of 4 bands from the first Toronto show. When I woke up the next morning the red one was glowing and it stayed on for about 15 minutes. Then later that night we got home from Toronto and I gave my youngest daughter a different red one and as soon as she put it on her arm it turned on. She was so excited and thought she was magic since I just finished telling her they only come on at the concert. LOL We had her put on our white and pink ones, but they did not come on. Weird that only the two red ones would. The red one she put on stayed on all night until the batteries wore out about 9 hours later. I would love to find out what frequency they used and be able to make it go on and off. I almost want to wear it out and around all day to see if any frequencies out in the world would activate it.

[23-Jul-2012] Coldplay @ Air Canada Centre, Toronto, ON, Canada
All I can say is WOW what an amazing experience! I don't even know how to put it in words how much I loved that show. I even got choked up during Yellow. That's the song that started it all for me, and to have them singing it live in front of me, and then to hear the whole audience singing along and to be part of that; just wow. I was a bit worried about my seats (section 118) because we were on the side, but it was a great view. Although I would have loved to have been closer...what's better than being in front on the floor? We got there just before the show started as we really wanted to see Marina and the Diamonds. While we were waiting for the show to start I was watching up in the 300s because I had read the stories of people being upgraded. Sure enough, I spot a guy in black shirt and shorts, he kept popping up in each section, looking around, then he got in about 307 and he started talking to this couple. Then I saw them get up and follow him, and a while later they appeared down below me in the second row. Lucky buggers! I have to admit that while I was happy for them, I was a bit jealous. I was wondering if they were as big a fan as me, and that yes, my seats weren't in the nose bleed section, but I would LOVE to be moved to the floor. Why not me? Selfish I know. :embarrassed: Also, I had bought two seats in the same row, but not together and was worried how I was going to work that out as I was taking my 14 year old daughter and wanted us to sit together. But everyone was pretty cool about moving down one seat. Except this one guy who was a bit of a jerk about it. But he seemed to be a jerk in general. He kept drinking all night and getting louder and more obnoxious. He was so LOUD during Up in Flames that I almost told him to shut up. But all those things aside it was a fantastic evening. I screamed with excitement the first time we all lit up. So cool. I sang, I danced, I cried. I just couldn't stop thinking "wow, that is actually Coldplay live and in person down there singing for me" (and thousands others) That was so worth every penny getting from Halifax to TO for one night. Can't wait to do it again, only wish I could have afforded both nights. I haven't even looked at my pictures yet but if I have any decent ones I'll post them. My daughter took some videos too so we'll see how they turn out. * I forgot to mention about the xyloband. After the show we went to the floor to collect some confetti, and on the way back up we found two xylobands on the floor. I brought them home figuring I could give them away on the xyloband thread. When I got home my youngest daughter really wanted one, so I let her have one, and as soon as she put it on it turned on! It was so weird! I had her put on the other ones, but they didn't turn on. The lights stayed on for about 8 hours before the batteries died.

Tips for concert
I agree with the above...try to put yourself in the moment rather than watching from behind a camera. I am taking my daughter so she is the designated photographer for the night, LOL. I also am doing things a bit different than when I saw them in 2009. That year I went on here and found out their set list and made a cd of the same order and played it over and over before the show. And because I read all the reviews I knew about the confetti, etc. There were no surprises. It was still an AMAZING show, but this year I decided to not read any reviews or set list. I am just going to wait and be surprised by what they play. Then after the show I'm sure I'll make a cd of the set list and listen to it over and over to relive the experience. LOL And don't pay any attention to what others are doing at the show (ie: sitting down). You are there to get the best experience you can, so do what feels right and what will help you have the best time! I'm sure my daughter will be embarrassed by me at some point during the night...she still hasn't learned how to let go at a concert, but maybe this will be the one that she loosens up at.

You should definitly check out My Kind of Love by Emeli Sande, and I personally enjoy How to be a Heartbreaker and Valley of the Dolls by Marina and the Diamonds. And I can't wait for tomorrow night!!!

[23-Jul-2012] Coldplay @ Air Canada Centre, Toronto, ON, Canada
I am so excited I can hardly wait. Just finished making some adjustments to my coldplaying.com t-shirt. Also downloaded some Marina and the Diamonds and Emeli Sande to listen to so I can familiarize myself with their songs before they go on. I'm looking forward to hearing them, but I realize today I really like Marina and the Diamonds. I had forgotten there would be other perfomers besides Coldplay until today. I'm glad I checked them out. LOL

Obtaining confetti from concert
I love your idea to bring a big ziploc bag! I never thought of that...last time I was trying to stuff my pockets without wrinkling the butterflies. This time I think I'll bring a baggie. :)

Thanks for sharing that seat viewing site. I know the stage is different than the one in the picture, but it does give a good sense of where we'll be. Now I just need to worry about convincing 7 people to move down one seat so my daughter and I can sit together! I got the last two seats in section 118, but they're not together! At least we're in the same row though. Can't wait!!!!

I also had extra tickets as I was able to get closer seats on one of the days, I was successful in selling my extras on ebay.

Does everyone get a xyloband?
I feel the same way. I'm extra worried because I DID forget about the LRLRLR cd they were giving away in 2009. I was so excited about the show and lost in my own thoughts when I left by a side door. I couldn't figure out what was taking everyone so long to go out the main entrance. When I got back to the hotel I remembered and was SO devastated. Luckily a kind Coldplayer mailed me one from the thread. :) But because I know how easily I can miss something so important I worry that I'll miss the bands...but since it's on the way in I am going to be extra vigilant and not forget! :)

[23-Jul-2012] Coldplay @ Air Canada Centre, Toronto, ON, Canada
I've just noticed that they're now selling tickets for directly behind the stage on ticketmaster. What do you think this means? Will Coldplay be performing with a 360 stage in mind...or are they just selling crappy seats?
-
[26-Jul-2012] Coldplay @ Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada
I've just noticed on TicketMaster that they are also now selling tickets for seats behind the stage. And there's an article on here that says it's supposed to be a 360 stage for the European dates. ??? I can't understand how those seats would be any good, but surely the band would be aware that they are selling seats behind the stage and they'd make some kind of effort to make a good show for those sitting behind? I don't know what to make of these seats...:\
