  6. That was me. :P The part of my city that is nearest to the river is being evacuated...the water hasn't broken through the dikes yet, but they are evacuating people as a precaution because it will be easier to get people out when the roads are (mostly) clear. The Assiniboine River is the highest it has ever been, and the water levels aren't expected to peak until Thursday or Friday. And it's raining, so that's not helping.
  7. The stuffed animals we ordered at work came in! PETE THE CAT!!!!
  8. AND YOU CAN TELL EVERYBODY THIS IS YOUR SOOONNGG
  9. Yes, but just one song. Ellie Goulding?
  10. A few years ago I had the hiccups for a few hours and someone told me to trace circles on my hand with my finger. If you concentrate really closely on drawing the circle it's supposed to cure hiccups. It worked instantly, but it has never worked since. :P
  11. I'm a complete spelling/grammar Nazi. :shame: The first thing my eyes focus on when I read a sign, advertisement, newspaper article, etc. is a spelling or grammar mistake (if there is one). CBC News misspelled "disaster" in a news headline and I almost had a heart attack.
  12. It's only lunchtime, but it hasn't been bad so far. tnp is wearing a scarf
  13. sooo...cold....:wreck: The portable heater at work just broke, and the furnace won't come on. GRRR
  14. It works!!
  15. You guys all finish way later than me. Good luck to you all!
  16. Take a deep breath, then swallow. And WITHOUT exhaling, suck in more air and swallows again. Keep inhaling and swallowing until your lungs cannot possibly hold any more air, and then they are usually gone!
  17. Lights - Ellie Goulding Your Song - Ellie Goulding I Follow Rivers - Lykke Li Pumped Up Kicks - Foster the People Before I'm Old - Fictionist
  18. *jumps into conversation* Obviously Canada's problems can in no way be compared to those of third-world countries, but that doesn't mean that they aren't important. It's natural to be concerned with how our country is being (mis)governed because we are affected by parliament's decisions.
  19. I think it's pretty bad, but not as bad as Brandon. We had 40 cm of snow last weekend, so the water is waaaay higher than it was expected to be!!
  20. I learned that the flood is even worse than originally expected, and our river has already broken the all-time record for flooding even though it isn't going to crest until Thursday. :wreck:
  21. My city is under a state of emergency for the month of May. I'm so glad I live on the opposite side of town from the river, but my best friend's family is being evacuated by tomorrow at the latest.
  22. Your Song - Ellie Goulding
  23. Please God, let the dikes hold for tonight so that there can be a safe evacuation tomorrow when it is light outside! Hopefully it will stop raining...the last thing this town needs is more water!
