Hurts Like Heaven 5th MX Single
So did they release HLH as single or it's only music video? There's nothing new in Recordings on coldplay.com... so, no single yet?

Hurts Like Heaven full music video...
I like it. I know that it looks like an ad for a comic, but I like that it has a story, and the animation is great - it's like a comic book comes alive in your imagination. Great work. I've never seen anything quite like that. It's something fresh and new they've done.

[9-Sep-2012] Coldplay @ Paralympics Closing Ceremony, London, UK (please post your reviews for Wiki,
It was just the greatest show. They should have done opening and closing of Olympics, Paralympics and everything else. Perfect professionals, amazing musicians! I'm just proud of what they've shown to the world. They proved once again that they are the biggest and the best band in the world, notwithstanding anyone says. They are capable of managing such huge shows and make them lovely as well as exciting and grand. Just stand and applaud. No critic in the world can say that their show is not stunning. Love you, guys. You're the best. *Ooh, Strawberry Swing and 42, who would have thought!!*

Coldplay to Take 2013 Off
You're right of course - international flights and money not being a problem make it easier for bands to function that way. But after all, there is still that magic of four people playing together in one room, and I just don't want it to be lost at some point, when one member is due to be off to LA, and another one has plans in Norway and the other decide to live in Japan or whatever, and they end up sitting together in a room looking at the clock every 5 minutes and thinking about plane to catch. Maybe I'm wrong supposing bad stuff, but after duet with Rihanna nothing seems too impossible.:wink3: My greatest fear though, is that Chris gets friendly with some really 'cool people' in LA. It's Hollywood, babe.

Coldplay to Take 2013 Off
If anyone told me that they are going on a hiatus before MX was released I'd be very dissapointed. But now I'm totally sure they need a break at last. They deserved plus it would be good for inspiration and things. And Chris had better not move to LA. Really, is anywhere better than London? ;) I just liked the idea of the band working together and, well, living on the same continent. If his family is in America and his work in the UK - it's never easy. And he would be spending a lot less time with either, regarding distance and time spent on travelling. Hope he's got a really good plan to manage it all. Or we'll be hearing Chris Martin's solo album in 2015 instead.

Mylo Xyloto or Viva la Vida?
Viva. Definetly. Music, artwork, storyline, cohesiveness, clothes, stage design, music videos - all the best. I'd award MX first place in live performances, the energy and well-thought professionalism of the show top everything they've done before.

Small Reminders/Updates & The Coldplay Messenger (feat. Roadie #42!)
Agree. The video is Princess of China, not Princess of Asia. They should have thought better of it.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I think that MX is very very closely tied to the story. And despite the fact that band let us imagine our own story with just a few hints (like two main characters, virile surroundings, getting through difficulties, etc.) I haven't really procceed. The songs still hold something that I can't really understand - and that's why can't fully relate emotionally to. I mean, if you know that feeling, when you listen to a song, and you think: "Yeah, man, the same sort of crap happened to me". I haven't felt this with MX. I think that's partly because Chris has written it having in mind not the real life and real people, but some imagined character. And while we know nothing about him, there is small chance we can relate to him. That was a main problem for me with this era. Not even the heavy-synthed Paradise and poppish Rihanna collaboration. The fact, that for the first time in my Coldplay-listening history I have no idea what the heck they're trying to say with this. What is their message?

Article: Man, I Used To Really Love Coldplay
Interesting, how this thread evolved from the discussion of one overreacting teenager's opinion to an old fan/new fan arguement. Personally, I can count myself as a "new fan", disregarding the fact that I started listening to Coldplay well before MX. I mean, sometimes I feel the urge to defend Coldplay and their new material too. The reason is that I have deep respect for the band as personalities. For Guy, Will, Chris, Jonny and Phil and all people involved. I know, that they put a lot of work in their music, a lot of effort. I respect them for being hard-working, humble, generous, for really caring about what they are doing. I also respect them for down-to-earth attitude and great sense of humour. This feeling of respect makes me feel bad, when I read something like "Oohh, they suck", or "They are stupid band". I know, that most of you will agree, that they do not deserve to be insulted in such a way. It's just unfair. It's not even that they might read it one day. It's just - they are good people, and it doesn't matter whether you like their music or you don't - they don't deserve such treatment. Let me clear one point - I do certainly agree that everybody has a right to have his or her own opinion on Coldplay music, good or bad, to express it, to critisize or to praise. We are here to share these opinions. You can always say, that, for example, rhythm section on this song wasn't good enough, or vocals were bad on that song. That this song didn't speak to you, and that lyrics didn't mean to you a thing. But if you choose to say something like that guy did- poorly articulated opinion, indirectly insulting band members - be ready, that on this site there will be people who will (or at least try ;)) to defend their favourite band.

Article: Another day in paradise (The Sydney Morning Herald)
Awww... they love each other:rolleyes: Great article. It's good to know that they are happy right now. Well, we can hear it anyways on MX - quintessential joy.

Article: Man, I Used To Really Love Coldplay
It's a childish approach. I've never understand people who feel depressed over the albums and feel the urge to call the band suckers. Your favourite band released something, you're not happy about, so what, sit and cry? Go and write everywhere on the Internet OMG THEY SUCK!!!??? Relationships with music are like relationships with people. Either you aceept them with all their flaws and mistakes, or you don't accept them at all. I mean, I like Coldplay. I love their music, I like the band and respect them for what they are. Sometimes they release something I'm not entirely happy about. Some songs I skip. The others I listen to a lot. They are people, they change, they take wrong steps, and music developes with them. I like MX, but I can't say it's my favourite. I expected different sound, and I was unhappy with some tracks. And you know what I do? I listen to the songs I like, and listen to the old albums when I feel nostalgic. See? No need to insult anyone, cry or be depressed.

Most Diverse CP member?
Chris has great writing abilities, Will can play virtually everything and sing, Guy is most advanced in playing his own instrument plus he is a producer, Jonny composes guitar riffs, as I understand, he is great in developing tunes into songs and on early stages of writing.

Article: Man, I Used To Really Love Coldplay
I like to hear different opinions about music I like. But this guy seems to have no actual opinion. He used to like Coldplay music, and now he's not... so what?

2012 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS!! // FINALS: 8TH JUNE - 1ST JULY (draw on pg14)
Ooooooh! What a dramatic moment it was for the Netherlands. Sorry, very very sorry for them. Pity they won't even qualify from the group. They were my favourite team (right after my national one). Just that close!

PoC video
Please bring Matt Whitecross here. He manages to realize all crazy Chris's ideas (but genious too!) and to make something as sweet and unpretentious as Paradise video. This video probably wouldn't have gone past Mr. Champion's seal of disapprovement. But when there's "the star", it's not for boys to decide. Anyways, gave it 5. Not a disaster by any means. It's ok. I mean, watch any Britney video and then turn on this. See the difference? But still: 1. Strange imagery - Japanese more than Chinese. Why doing that? I'm sure there will be plenty of stupid jokes on the Internet - "They even don't know the difference". I believe the boys do know the difference. So why mixing it all up? Strange decision. 2. Some long and quite boring shots. Seems that lack of story resulted in catching myself once or twice on thinking that they'd better do something else now. 3. Green screen. Well, had they done this all on location - how wonderful it would have looked. Computer graphics is not something to make you awe in year 2012. It's not necessarily bad, but not quite interesting.

Will there be an EP following Mylo Xyloto?
They have released three singles thus far - and no new material. There are two variants: either they keep something up their sleeve or they simply don't have anything new worth sharing. Second variant is hard to believe as Coldplay has always been a very fruitful band regarding b-sides. Besides, there was a bunch of acoustic songs they wanted to release initially as the main album. And then mingled these songs with "the Mylo bunch", as they called it. So, where are the songs left? And are they going to see the light of day?

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Strangely enough, the last Shakira album is more rock than Mylo Xyloto. Who would have known?

Coldplay's Twitter
I think that all of them have come to look really well this era. Very fit and healthy. It seems to me that Jonny seemed a bit more plump due to baggy Viva shirts and jackets. This era style is more tight-fitting, and the boys look younger and more athletic.

What collaboration would you like to see?
I don't think they have ever done a collaboration that really worked. Jay-Z on Lost+ comes to my mind, and then I like those Nelly Furtado song, but others were just ok or with totally disastrous results (like Lhuna, which is a strange one). If Coldplay deside to collaborate once again with someone on album, I'd prefer it to be it in the direction of acoustic/jazz/alternative music. They've already tried rap and pop, I think its time to move somewhere else.
