  3. Chris really does a lot of advertisement, he goes to all those interviews and answers stupid questions about his personal life. He deserves to be distinguished, of course. But I'm disappointed a little that they do not share everything equally - because I thought it was somewhat noble of him to put great effort and not to ask any privileges.
  4. that's funny how people can be soo boring in the interview. They'd better really answered like Chris - funny, witty, interestingly.
  5. Just listened to interview. And one thing bothers me - it turns out they split profit 20-20-20-40. That means Chris does get more. :inquisitive:Why have they been talking about total equality for so many years then? Maybe worth asking Oracle.. And I wonder how much the word "Gwyneth" has been dropped. It was annoying at times.
  6. oh, ok:laugh3: машинные ребята
  7. I'm lucky that here where I live one person of twenty five have heard about Coldplay. So they're generally considered classy britpop band :D. (Though it sucks that I can't buy albums. I've been to few shops today and found only one old scratched X&Y, no sign of MX so far:( )
  8. Car Kids is this era Famous Old Painters. I won't be surprised if we never get to hear it.
  9. Ridiculous. Now that Vietnamese woman keeps to beaten track and wants to lay her hands on some batches of bucks. They didn't steal it, there's no sense in that. They've credited other artists on the disk and if they needed this song, I'm sure they would've paid her. There are similarities, but hey, is it really possible to write a melody that hasn't been written yet by some guy from distant Cambodian village. I hope court will prove it to be coincidence. By the way, Coldplay should have sued David Guetta for completely stealing Clocks.
  10. At first I didn't even want to wright anything because one might think of me as of stupid fangirl. But to hell with that, no one knows me here:) I really liked MX. If someone would tell me a month ago that I'd like Princess of China with Rihanna in it, I'd say with condescending smirk "Yeah, sure". But now I listen to that song and find Rihanna's vocals not irritating as usual. She sounds ok, and I'm satisfied with what they've done here. I like those r'n'b beat and though lyrics are a bit girlish and simple, Rihanna make them sound natural (because she is a girl and not very sophisticated). I like Up In Flames. I didn't like it live, but now I'm in love with those rhythm. It's hypnotizing. It repeats like heartbeat, very nice touch. I will never forgive them what they've done with Major Minus, they killed it, I agree. But I think that Hurts like Heaven turned out to be a decent version. I've already used to it, and I love it. I'm sorry that Charlie Brown didn't touch your heart. It's overwhelming, it's so full of energy and love for life. It one of those songs that make your day. Those "we'll run wild, we'll be glowing in the dark".. Rather poetic for me. I won't mention Paradise or ETIAW because I'm not a fan, but not a hater either. As a P.S. I'd like to say one thing. I was very skeptical about this album, and was not satisfied with singles at all. I thought they're making it for money or for popularity. But then I watched those interview with Chris, where he was just seriously talking about how much they've put in this album. You know, I BELIEVED HIM. I think he was sincere, he meant it. And these are real emotions, just put in another form. More appealing, more easy to perceive, but still... it's them.
  11. Please, please me :D and send me the link:laugh3: Thanks!
  12. What's so "interesting" about that Box club? *It's not a gay bar I hope*
  13. If you bothered to read further, you'd noticed that I continued the sentence with words ....like love or baby. I'm not a crazy fangirl. I know that they repeat a lot "up in flaaames", and on the album there is a lot of repetition too. But they've never reached the edge of stupidity with lyrics like "I'm a free bitch", or "i want your love love love love, i want your love". That's all. I don't usually post a lot. But what made me write here is that I just don't like when people throw around snobbish comments, and state their own musical preferences as the one and only truth. I've never written on this forum anything like "OMG they are great i luv them" and I expect from people not to write something like "OMG they' re terrible teenage pop boyz band, my favorite band *insert name*is better". I become a bit annoyed when people try to make me look stupid for liking Coldplay, when they have no other argument besides their own taste. I hope that I didn't offend anyone, though..
  14. Yes, I've heard that. And I think that those are not the most clever lyrics. But comparing it to any of Lady Gaga songs, I think Coldplay's attempts are better. The lyrics here are very simple, but still they don't repeat words like love or baby 1246 times a minute. Musically, both Paradise and ETIAW far more complex and interesting that any of, for example, Katy Perry song. Or you disagree?
  15. Regarding sales and media attention, Radiohead are rather mainstream too. So we can call pop as well Nirvana, Metallica, Genesis, Guns'n'Roses, because hey, they've sold even more! Though something like punk or hard rock sounds too different from pop. So I prefer calling Coldplay mainstream soft-rock. Pop for me is the likes of Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, Britney Spears.. you know, three chords and stupid silly lyircs (.. I want your love, love, love love I want your love... roma-ro-ma-ma ga-ga u-la-la:dozey: ). So far CP don't have songs consisting of "coldplay u-la-la", so we can safely call them soft-rock, with some dance-y hip-hop influences on the last album. That's IMHO, by the way,

Just realized that I for years thought that Chris was singing High speed tomorrow in High speed.
  17. I noticed that Debs sometimes (nah, often I would say) answers a bit haughty and irritated. I don't want to say anything bad about Debs, but I feel bad for people who receive such answers. I don't think that Debs is a bad person or something, but why from the hundreds of questions choose that ones that annoy her?
  18. Absolutely! :smug: I view their two recent albums as an adventure they want to take. I don't really like the way they've gone this time (MX era I mean), but maybe the next thing they'll do will be far more good and different.
  19. can anyone upload or something?
  20. That joke about Rihanna is actually funny. The rest of the article is just rubbish, in my opinion.
  21. Ehm, maybe it's just me. Maybe my reverent feelings towards French art and Eugen Delacroix in particular makes me admire this video. For me that's not just "painting like filler"(by the way, I wonder how much time it took to develop those "filler", obviously you cannot choose it by default). It's a chance to plunge into the magic atmosphere of beige and brown pastel shades of the legendary masterpiece. It is really one of the greatest works of art, and it leaves you in utter amazement whenever you see it. Not touched, eh? I am, though.
  22. Thanks for the interview. It's fun to know that Jonny's daughter likes Coldplay ;)
  23. It is. I remember I dared to joke at the time that Coldplay might pair up with Britney next. Now it does not sound funny. They decided to erase the boundaries - so who knows how far that might go.
  24. Actually now I think it is not that annoying and plain. Melody is wonderful indeed. I really don't like the lyrics and Chris' vocals on it. But the melody is great. It grew on me and now I think it's more complicated and interesting than I noticed from the first bunch of listens.
