  1. Actually, I disagree with overproduced. Simply because you can hear obvious cuts between each line of Rihanna's singing. Listen closely.
  2. Viva. I really dislike Viva. It has some great songs, I'll admit (Violet Hill, COL, and DAAHF are classics), but it also has songs like Yes and 42, which goes down as my least favourite song not just of Coldplay's, but on my entire iPod. Additionally, I find the album a little...disjointed, I suppose.
  3. ...or be part of an atheistic religion.
  4. I think I can safely say that anyone who has read this thread is scared for your wellbeing, as well as their own. Seriously, this has gone beyond some sort of minor obsession. From what I'm reading, is it possible that he has some sort of social disability? It sounds like severe autism or something. But seriously, talk to someone about this. Not reporting it is putting you, him, and your friends at risk.
  5. I've been brought up as Christian, but I'm slowly gravitating towards Buddhism.
  6. Very very rarely. Most of the things they play on mainstream radio is...well, mainstream. Most of which is overplayed, and therefore something of which I'm not a huge fan. However, we have an indie rock station (Triple J) and a classical/jazz music station (ABC Classic FM), so I listen to those once in a while when there's nothing good on my iPod.
  7. DLIBYH is epic awesome. I love Jonny's amazing riff at the beginning. In terms of how it's been mixed, it's a little bit like Chinese Sleep Chant.
  8. It's either DLIBYH, Hurts Like Heaven, UFO or Charlie Brown. I can't quite decide D:
  9. When I left JB there were some Asians outside. Exciting.
  10. Up in Flames feels very last-minute. Maybe it's just because I know that it was (even Roadie was like 'Hey guys, we've got two weeks left on the album, but we've got one more song up our sleeves!'). And UIF is also incredibly repetitive. Which would be fine, if the thing they're repeating was particularly interesting. Which it isn't. It's just 'Up in Fla-a-a-ames, up in fla-a-a-ames...'. Repeat ad nauseum.
  11. Bought the physical CD yesterday; first time I've done that in years. Only problem is that most of the CD stores in the grand old city of Adelaide have shut down over the years due to digital sales of albums skyrocketing. So I actually had to go into the city after school (a 30-40 minute bus ride there, then another 30-40 back). But totally, utterly, absolutely worth it. :D
  12. Oh god, I feel sorry for you. One-hit wonders? Eugh.
  13. Thanks for putting that song in my head! :P
  14. I don't like it when artists use the four chord cliche. Even some of my favourite bands do it, and it saddens me D:
  15. You most certainly can. It's used a fair bit in jazz and popular songs. Obviously it's best to modulate into a key's relative major/minor, but other keys can be modulated into as well.
  16. Twilight is bad and you should all feel bad for liking it. Just sayin'. But let's be hoping the song's good if it does appear in the film, to redeem them putting the song in a Twilight film in the first place.
  17. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/23/science/23speed.html To people who don't realise what this means, it disproves one of Einstein's most fundamental laws of Physics. It also, by the current laws of quantum physics, means that time travel is possible. In other words, I think I just had a nerdgasm.
  18. I'll be recording it, so I'll up it to YouTube so anyone who misses it can see it. Very much looking forward to it, though, especially after the R42 blog :D
  19. By having the same amount of tracks as X&Y plus bonus tracks? That's their idea of being 'very careful'? Anyone else find this a little odd? I'm probably reading far too much into this ;P You're kidding, right? TKOL wasn't as huge as In Rainbows, but it certainly wasn't intended with being a big return in the way that IR was. And it was definitely seen as a good album by critics and fans alike. It's one of my favourites, personally.
  20. HandyAndy136 replied to Choldplayer's topic in Coldplay
Guys! MX hasn't even come out yet! Goodness, we haven't even seen the music video for Para-Para-Paradise. And they won't go 'back to basics'. Any band who says this is generally out of ideas, and can then either begin releasing cover albums (God forbid), or call it a day.
  21. Well, they did play the Back to the Future theme at the beginning of a couple of early festival gigs this year instead of MX. I'm guessing a couple of the lyrics might take a bit of influence, but I'm not expecting the album to be a retelling of BTTF or anything.
  22. I suppose with any popular group, there's always going to be the diehard fans who like everything no matter what. But I see your point, the fans should be at least slightly objective.
  23. Too late. They've finished the album, and it's officially past the point where they can make changes. Well, we'll see how this turns out. Personally I can't say I'm optimistic (as you can probably guess by my previous posts) but...we'll see.
