Yeah I know it probably sounds a bit like saying you guys aren't smart, but I'm just saying you're at my own level. Sorry. I do mean it as a compliment, though it could be construed as an insult.

Thanks! I'm really liking it here already. One thing I like is that you guys aren't intimidating. What I mean to say is that you just seem normal, not super smart folks who know so much more about everything than I do (though you probably know a lot more than me about certain things, namely Coldplay, which I always type as Coldpaly by accident. I'm a bit of a newbie to the band, so forgive any ignorance on my part.). I mean, the folks over at the forum for Les Misérables, Abaissé, are so much smarter than I am that it frightens me. They actually do literary analysis. And while fun to read, I don't know enough about history or "the brick" (as we like to call Les Misérables) to participate. This isn't to say you guys are stupid, it's just that it's a lot easier for one to chat about a band than a really intimidating book like Les Misérables, at least in my opinion. Coldplay, while good music, isn't as deep as Victor Hugo. But most things in this world aren't, so it's nothing against them. :)

Is it really that surprising? I don't find it surprising. People can be stupid, I think and in my experience what is most popular is usually not the best. I don't dislike Viva La Vida and it strongly appeals to my geeky side that loves history and is always applying it to historical figures, but it's certainly not my favorite. I agree. I don't particularly like that one. It just...doesn't appeal to me. The beginning sounds really silly to me and the rest is just meh. Also I'm kinda surprised a few people have brought up Sleeping Sun. I really like that one for some reason.

I just heard on the radio that Paterson (our governor) was supposed to have a talk with the mosque-builders and that he would try and help them find a new location, but they changed their minds about said meeting. So it didn't happen. How do you feel about this? Personally it's frustrating. Our government is trying to reach out to them and find a solution and they're not taking their hand. I do understand that it's totally their choice and that we can't make them do anything, but it still frustrates me.

I particularly love Donnez, Donnez, the early conception of the song Look Down (and I think it's called Bonjour Paris on the 1991 Paris Revival recording, but I'm not positive since I don't own this one. To me there's a distinct possibility that the first half is people recovering after a first attack and the second half is a second wave. I also really like your flashback theory, which is what I first thought of, but now I'm split between the two. But either way, it's definitely about war.

I'm a Bills fan. We're probably gonna be terrible, as usual. Not the worst, but in terms of being consistently bad, few (or no) teams can match us. We haven't been good for pretty much my whole life. But Western New Yorkers like myself are pretty loyal to our Bills.

True. I think the side of the songs that says "that I just don't wanna go." works with him though. It's kind of half and half. It doesn't fit as well as the other two songs.

Sooo guys. I'm curious. Which Coldplay songs remind you of Harry Potter? Personally I say Death and All His Friends is perfect for Sirius. Death and all his friends, of course, would be Voldemort and the Death Eaters or possibly his family. Then I think The Scientist is a good Harry-leaves-Ginny-at-the-end-of-HBP song. And there's Death Will Never Conquer, which is Voldemort's song. Because if there's anyone who doesn't want to die in Harry Potter it's Voldemort.
