Compared to the other B-sides, I think it's my favourite. Although I love How You See The World, Gravity and Proof. See You Soon is probably my favourite if it counts as a b-side though.

^ Wedding Bells has been confirmed by Chris and the Oracle not to be on the album. It actually evolved into the first part Christmas Lights. And it's VERY unlikely for Christmas Lights to be on the album. It's a fantastic song, but it would be very weird putting it on the album considering it's a Christmas song.

I know what you mean. Albums should definitely be cohesive works of art. But in theory every song that is recorded during the sessions should have a recurring theme anyway and therefore always have a chance of being on the album. If you're recording as song during the sessions that have no chance of making the album then what's the point? Anyway, my point is Major Minus should easily be able to be replaced by another song that'll work just as well in the album's context.

The lyrics make perfect sense (apart from 'Until Monday morning feels another life'), what I meant was they sound as if they're from a generic pop song. There's very little imagination going on. I think it would be a great idea to transition into In My Place from ETIAW but unfortunately they seem to be using it as the closing song so I don't think it'll ever happen :(

Is UFO actually on the PRS? I think it is a song title since on the Coldplay website it's on the newspaper along with MX which is as we know is a song title. If MX turns out to be 'Mylo Xyloto' then UFO is probably an abbreviation for something as well. And no, I don't mean 'Unidentified Flying Object', that's silly. You might as well keep it as UFO if that's the case.

I agree with both points, particularly the 2nd one. Liking the name is one thing, but praying for it to be on the album purely for its name is ridiculous. What's more annoying than that though is hoping that songs like Major Minus or ETIAW make it to the album. If there's already a recorded version of it then why do you need it on the album as well? I can't understand that at all.

Ignoring the laughably poor lyrics, the first half isn't that bad. It becomes dreadful later on with the 'WA WA WA WA WATERFALL' part. And I don't like how it ends with the drum solo, it's anti-climatic.

Some of those unreleased tracks that are on the PRS are from past recording sessions for past albums so it's unlikely that they're still working on them now. We can safely assume that anything from 2008 or before won't be on the album.

Why do people keep posting crap like 'OMG I HOPE CAR KIDS/REX/UP WITH THE BIRDS IS ON THE ALBUM!!11'. We know absolutely nothing about what those songs sound like, it's illogical. They could be shit.

Mnemonics and Murals was just a name that a troll came up with. It's not written on any of the instruments or artwork and the band have never mentioned the name. Please stop acting like it's part of the album. K thanks.

Chris is clearly on the piano but I don't think it'll be a piano driven song like Clocks. Most of the songs so far have been driven by Jonny's guitar.

Yeah... except it was Ron Sexsmith's song. If the situation was reversed that would be like having a Coldplay song where Ron Sexsmith sings on his own.

Haha I meant X&Y was disappointing for me. Anyway I think on a whole X&Y is regarded to be Coldplay's weakest album. Even Coldplay themselves think so.

I'm not really looking forward to this new album anymore. In the interview with Q magazine Charlie Brown, ETIAW, Major Minus, Princess of China, MX/Hurts Like Heaven and Us Against the World were seemingly confirmed for the album. This leaves 4/5 spaces for new songs that we've never heard before which is underwhelming. I wouldn't care about this if the new songs were mind-blowing but so far they've been 'meh'. They're decent songs but I haven't heard anything so far that made me go 'wow' with the exception of Moving to Mars which probably isn't even on the album anyway. ETIAW is crap. Major Minus is average. The rest are a bit better but there's nothing as good as Clocks, The Scientist, Fix You or Viva La Vida. Hate to be a pessimist but I think this'll be as disappointing as X&Y. :(

I think the whole thing with Up With The Birds being registered on the PRS with references to Leonard Cohen debunks this theory. It's likely that Cohen is the guest on the song, making it a duet.

I agree with this. But can Cohen still sing these days? If it is indeed a sample though I'm going to be pissed off, this sampling obsession needs to stop.

I have a feeling they'll only play songs that already have studio recordings so the only new material that will be played is Major Minus and ETIAW (I doubt we'll see a live version of MTM). Since everything they play will be downloadable I think EMI will object to them playing material that will be on the new album. I'd like the see Amsterdam and Green Eyes played but I doubt they'd play Amsterdam.
