  1. ^I would balance the aforementioned suggestions. Play some crowd-pleasers and play some you-pleasers to really show off your range of talent. Crowd-pleasers = any of the piano singles: Clocks, the Scientist, mainly. Other stuff = UATW/LIFL, etc.
  2. Why is it that this thread isn't bustling like most other concert threads? :(
  3. Anyone know when Coldplay is on?
  4. I just hope they'll use it SPARINGLY. Think of what they did with the line "every road is a ray of light." There's a lot of compression effect on that, and we all think that line is the coolest thing ever right? Because it's a highlight among vocals that are otherwise normal in terms of effects.
  5. I see you taking a shower, taking your clothes off, Hair on your chest and skin so soft, Still I watch you shave, Still I watch you shave... <(^__^<)
  6. What I was getting at is based on the performance of Wedding Bells, among other songs, we know Chris has the ability and passion to effectively write and deliver a solo album.
  7. I have to say, I've never had a problem with Eno, but that quote about him always makes me a little suspicious. >_>
  8. High Speed A Whisper What If Reign of Love LP5 - Us Against the World. ;)
  9. I don't think it's a backing track, just an echo effect on Chris's voice, or possibly, Will's. Either way, it sounds really cool. The "won't let em take control" part seems like a great thing to shout through a megaphone, which this whole song reminds me of.
  10. Judging by his performance of Wedding Bells, yes. But the band will ALWAYS come first. And I have a feeling it'd get compared to Thom Yorke's solo stuff in an unreasonable way.
  11. He also gets the lyrics to Politik wrong. EPIC. :laugh3:
  12. Ah sorry I realize my sarcasm came off a bit disrespectful. Don't worry about it, I see what you're getting at. I suppose that's the tradeoff for being a large group though. I used to think the same thing about certain Radiohead songs actually. :embarrassed:
  13. What's this about a new song at the soundcheck?????
  14. Good luck dude!!!! :)
  15. Beautiful. Moving to Mars through Life is for Living was the greatest sequence of songs EVER. They weren't asking for song suggestions; Phil just tweeted they were changing the setlist. The person who made a thread ABOUT that tweet was asking US what songs we wanted to hear...for fun. The boys weren't actually LOOKING at that thread. It confused me too though.
  16. Hmm Funeral is my favourite album...mainly because I haven't listened to the others in their entirety LOL. :embarrassed: But if you think Arcade Fire doesn't awaken any emotions for you, then something's wrong. Very wrong. Go listen again, or perhaps listen to live performances. I like Coldplay more, but Arcade Fire is a brilliant group too. On the original topic....YEP....everyone tries to make these comparisons but they're fairly meaningless in the end.
  17. NMFWTTG actually reminds me of Till Kingdom Come a LOT. Fancy that.
  18. In all things performance and public speaking, I think interacting with the audience kind of shows them you're human, and shows you that THEY'RE human. Keep your breathing steady too!
  19. Asking "everybody okay?" a lot helps!!! I'm not even kidding.
  20. Aw thank you so much! If I were older/in your hemisphere, I would gladly join!
  21. I'm almost sure I'm right. ... That was unnecessarily blunt.
  22. ^I don't think so, esp if they have to repeat the word "world." Here's my take on the entire song: Oh morning come bursting, the clouds they mend, Lift off this blindfold and let me see again, Bring back the water that your ships rode in, In my heart, you left a hole. The tightrope that I'm walking sways and ties, The devil as he's talking with those angel's eyes, I just want to be there when the lightning strikes, And the saints go marching in. Sing slow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-it-down... Through chaos as it swirls, It's us against the world. Like a river to a raindrop, I lost a friend, My drunken head's a Daniel in a lion's den, And tonight I know it all has to begin again, So whatever you do, don't let go, And if we could just float away, Fly up to the surface and just start again, And lift off before trouble erodes in the rain, Just erodes in the rain, just erodes in the rain... ...the rest is self explanatory. :p
