  1. I'm with you Kansas....IMP is a lot more forgettable than some of the aforementioned tracks. But as a live song I imagine it's a huge asset - it's very catchy, one of the most powerful singalongs you can get... you simply don't get that from a song like Spies as good as it is (and I like Spies better). So we can only hope that the band establishes the right balance between crowd pleasers and hardcore-fan pleasers. Perhaps if they clued in to the fact that there is more intersection between those two categories than they think... :)
  2. Musagainst Theworld. Two words and hard to spell!
  3. Spray Can Soul is pretty creative on your part, OP. :) I've not heard that before and frankly I think it's more likely than this MX bollocks. If I were to name it, I'd say Us Against the World. With the exception of VLV, all the title tracks have been kind of obscure but amazingly brilliant songs (even DAAHF is kind of obscure), so it fits that pattern. UATW is a lyric that gets repeated in Major Minus, and I'd say it sets a pretty good theme consistent with the grafitti theme. As a bonus, what if the "world" in "UATW" refers to.....AN ALIEN WORLD? I also like the interpretation that if LP5 is the concept album that was originally hinted at, the two people who go on an adventure are aliens, if not symbolically. Which I think fits with my suggestion of UATW as the title.
  4. LIJ > Lost indeed. Hopefully this + Strawberry Swing will be in their arena tour. Does it bug anyone else that they do the confetti during In My Place now? It just feels....wrong.
  5. Similar chord pattern but I really don't think it's UATW because it's not in standard tuning; by the same logic, the verse of Shiver is UATW.
  6. Anyone think it would be funny to get tattoos saying, "Do you ever get the feeling you're missing the mark?" and "I struggle with the feeling that my life isn't mine." :p I'm too young for a tattoo, but I've always wanted to get "Time is on your side." from Amsterdam on my wrist so I'd see it when I'm not wearing a watch. I would also want something from the Masterplan by Oasis...that song is brilliant... "Take the time to make some sense of what you want to say, and cast your words away upon the waves."
  7. Good post vrdagam.....I really resent people who call the vocal effect in MM/ETIAW autotune. ETIAW sounds fairly normal, actually...I think there are just a few places where Will's backup vocals + perhaps a layer of Chris's voice (or Chris's voice being echoed in some way) are offputting at first. The chord progression is actually very similar; if you transposed it down a half step the first part would sound a lot like LIT. Try singing LIT's words over the main riff. ;) Nah but this song definitely gives me a similar vibe of youthfulness, I love it.

Quite a few are songs that Noel wrote during the Oasis era, but most weren't released officially or recorded/performed fully. There's only one poor quality recording of If I Had a Gun from a soundcheck in Hong Kong, and the way Noel sings it sounds like he probably hadn't written all the words anyways or didn't know them yet. Anyways, I'm super excited. LP5 + Noel's album(s) will make 2011 one of the best years ever. :D
  9. Will uses a click track? I did not know that. I can't imagine having one of those...it'd just make life more difficult for me.
  10. ^Perhaps so, but Chris knows when he's around greatness... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhVwurPrMk4&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL]Swiss Army Musician[/ame]
  11. Not to shamelessly self-promote, but the correct chords are here.
  12. I was near a creek by a small market and someone said "waterfall" and well, you know what happens. Oh, and I was watching some blackbirds (then Blackbird played in my head) and then this little 3 year old girl looks at the same blackbird I'm looking at...and then Speed of Sound comes on, because I think she saw it and understood...if you saw it you'd understand. ;)
  13. :) YES. For You is one of the most brilliant songs Coldplay has ever done in my opinion. It could sound SOOOO good - piano, slide guitar, neat bass line, light snare.... it could make a setlist substitute to Trouble I say. ! I've seen a few videos of Chris performing the song on the piano live after the Hardest Part / before Postcards. It's such a wonderful song, and I feel like a Chris-Jonny duet of this song would be REALLY good.
  14. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOIkLKwCKYw]Lovers in Japan acoustic[/ame] This is the clip Juanma's talking about. Sounds VERY cool....maybe if they start doing the B/C-stage acoustic sections, this could make it in? I still like the original version better though.
  15. princesanji, the truss rod doesn't keep the neck straight on its own; it's meant to counterbalance the tension that the strings create themselves; hence, when the strings are off, there is no counterbalance, so the neck gradually bends one way. It won't break but it certainly can't be good if you leave it like that for a really long time (which is subjective, but I said a week because most things shouldn't take more than a week to accomplish right?....okay maybe a month jaja) That said, you're pretty much right that as long as you take strings off slowly and avoid any giant heat/humidity/stress changes, then you're pretty much safe.
  16. YES! They're both good songs, but COL is such a rocking tune and you can tell that Chris and Jonny get really into it. Plus, the la la la la always make for a nice little sing along so you can't say it's NOT a crowd pleaser.
  17. I'd argue Moving to Mars has the same structure as Christmas Lights only because it starts with a quiet piano / low-voice, has a buildup, etc, with a soaring guitar line; also a little DAAHF-esque structure. Either way, I like what's happening so far, and I'm sure you'll get what you're looking for on LP5.
  18. Agreed Tonsu, the boys are on top of their game. They're sounding VERY tight on this version of Everything's Not Lost. The falsetto is heavenly. OMIGOSH IF POC GETS PLAYED, MY LIFE WILL BE MADE.
  19. Violet Hill leads into GPASYUF......they're in parallel keys too!
  20. I'm watching the stream; so far so good. I think the entire band is at the top of its game today; Chris has sounded PERFECT on every song. I especially love Jonny on Major Minus...that song seems to get better every time they play it - the e-bow, the crunchy chorus, and the epic ending solo. Cemeteries!
  21. Chris's vocal solo during the interlude was beautiful, and I love what Jonny has been doing in the outro this tour. :)
