Mylo Xyloto will be released in Japan on October, 19th with three bonus tracks!
So does that mean ETIAW will be on MX or are they just guessing?

Will Mylo Xyloto leak? ** EFFECTIVE 16-10 LINKS NOT PERMITTED ** (PART I)
Of course the album has leaked some time ago. Personally, I think it's a good album but slightly below expectations. Every Shiver Is An Earthquake and A Shot Of Urine To The Bladder are the best songs in my opinion. What do you guys think?

The Drums' Jonny Pierce: I Hate U2 And Coldplay
You know how interviews can go. Maybe he just said: "I don't like the fact that U2 and Coldplay make political statements." And they translated that into: "I hate U2 and CP..." But anyways, I disagree. I can see his point though. And U2 are maybe going a little too far. But I think it's good that bands try to help the world a little not only by making music. This doesn't mean every band should make political statements however, hell no. He's a little bit right but he's wrong. I do like The Drums' music a lot, happy feel good seems to go well on them. (Can't say the same about Coldplay)

Noel Gallagher a fan of Coldplay's new material

Coldplay in Rolling Stone: Reviews of New Songs
To be honest, I don't like the new songs as much as I like the older stuff. But Hurts Like Heaven is clearly the best songs of the 4 reviewed here and although I'm all for dark, moody songs, this one is fresh and great. I appreciate Charlie Brown a little less every time I hear it. In fact it's just a repeated guitar tune with synth on top. A great tune. But besides that, it's really tacky, even the lyrics. I understand the ratings given by the RS reviewer.

Bands that you can't stand, but respect?
I knew some people here wouldn't like my post. Thanks for the tip. I forgot to add how awesome Knights of Cydonia (the intro at least) is and how epic Newborn instrumentals are.

Bands that you can't stand, but respect?
Queen and Muse. Really not my cup of tea. But I know a lot of people like them and maybe I'm wrong. With Queen, it's just that I don't like the symphonic rock, the sound of it, and the 10 songs in one idea Bohemian Rhapsody is. And Don't Stop Me Now is easily one of the worst things I've ever heard. With Muse, he voice is the big issue. I don't like Bellamy's singing at all. The bombastic, whining voice (In my opinion) and singing throughout. But next to that, I can really really enjoy Muse instrumentally. It's great, it's world class. And Queen has obviously been an influence to a ridiculous amount of great top bands. I can't deny the greatness of Queen. Mercury is a legend, no doubt. I just can't stand their music. Bicycle Race and I Want To Break Free are alright though.

The National
Can I just hop in to say I love The National, and High Violet is easily one of the best albums ever.

Chris Martin: Mylo Xyloto is based on a love story
I agree with the one who says they should do 10 tracks and 3 hidden tracks, a bit like Viva. After all, the album wasn't long at all. And it had quality.

MYLO XYLOTO = ZYLO MYLOTO (see this picture) = Under 1 Roof in an unknown language
No that's just because the stress should be on the first syllable of each word. Nice find, but you're all looking into this too much and too far.

LP1,2,3 OR LP4,5
What? I think Low is the best version of the song White Shadows/Talk/Low (they do sound similar, don't they?) Also, Low has a cowbell. Nuff said. I think the best songs of X&Y come after Speed Of Sound, even if many people think otherwise. Til Kingdom Come anyone? Still, X&Y worst album. Competition is too tough.

Am I the only one who disagrees with the MX promotion?
Hah well I guess you'll be alright :p

LP1,2,3 OR LP4,5
It's all about opinion. I think Fix You is one of the worst (read: least good) songs of X&Y and of Coldplay. My opinion: Rush > Viva ~ Chutes > X&Y Chutes and Viva just can't be compared, but I think both aren't as good as Rush and they are better than X&Y (which is still a great and enjoyable album. Once it gets past Speed Of Sound, it's a masterpiece). From what I heard I'm guessing MX will be just above X&Y or maybe even below.

LP1,2,3 OR LP4,5
I think pre-Eno reached a dead end at X&Y. The changes were welcome and needed, although I prefer the old work. I'm afraid though that LP5 will be Eno-era's dead end.

Can't you buy the album via iTunes (or let your dad buy it)? It's not physical but you get to hear it in the best quality.

The whole space theme deleted?
Yeah metaphors are very frequent in music and literature. But I think theme and metaphor have completely different meanings.
-
The whole space theme deleted?
Seriously, Moving to Mars is not even spacey if you do an effort in understanding the lyrics. Besides I think it's just a side-theme, the graffiti being the main theme. I don't know.

Am I the only one who disagrees with the MX promotion?
This thread has become very interesting at a point. I didn't fully read the long posts on the last few pages, but I largely/totally agree with ApproximatelyInfinite's views on albums vs singles and chart music vs anything else. Although being a teenager myself, I find this trend a bit saddening and especially the fact that Coldplay is moving towards this trend. But as I said, music is a business like any other. Commercial benefits are easily chosen over artistical development. Or am I being a bit too cynical now?

Am I the only one who disagrees with the MX promotion?
It's easy to say it like that. But it would have been fairly impossible.

Just What Does "Mylo Xyloto" Mean?
Here's your answer.

Mylo Xyloto official press release - two different artwork on CDs!!!
IT'S A TRAP! Seriously, don't. The two versions are the same. They are reversible. You can convert one into another. Really. I guess...

Am I the only one who disagrees with the MX promotion?
I disagree here. I'd have killed for a best-of set before they had too many songs to be sure to still include all my old favourites. But that's not going to happen. And I wished to be surprised by a completely new album, you know, getting the CD out of the box/sleeve, putting it in the stereo, and hearing Hurts Like Heaven for the first time ever. Now I know that's not going to happen either. But that's the whole point, they would have been criticised no matter what. I, along with others, happen to be on the losing end this time (just like so many times before :p). They can't please everyone at the same time, and they shouldn't even try if you ask me. Get well soon Debs :)

What score will Pitchfork give Coldplay?
How the hell would we know? We haven't even heard the album ourselves. Let's wait and find out, then we'll be happy if it gets a rating we think it deserves, or we won't give a fuck if it doesn't please us.

The importance of Moving to Mars
Seriously people, MTM is not a spacey song, not even close. The whole Mars thing is a metaphor. It's about people who've been forced to move out of their country and be expelled to a distant foreign country. Just like in the film it was based on. Also, it's nothing like anything they've ever done before. The only thing about it that's recognisable in their older work is that it's a ballad that doesn't exaggeratedly goes over the top. It's a great song, but it's about as experimental as, or even more experimental than the other new stuff. For the rest, ColdplayingFromKansas seemed to state my opinion on this on the first page.

Am I the only one who disagrees with the MX promotion?
Idem dito. Then I fell in love with Major Minus ((live)). I would have found out about those songs sooner or later anyway, Same for you I guess. I saw them live so I couldn't really shut my ears or anything. :p
