Best thread ever. Oh come on, Coldplay does a lot of things that embarass me as a fan, like releasing ETIAW or something. Turns out fellow fans are also embarassing as hell.

You're right on many levels. But believe me, whether you like it or not, the way they've been promoting the album will make them sell a lot more albums than if they just announced everything 2 days before release. You may think it's all just a circus to sell and make as much money as possible, and you may think it's a little bit sad, but that's the way it is. Me too, I would have loved to be surprised. But that's not how it goes in this business. It's a business like any other.

I think the two versions are exactly the same, just one with the booklet flipped out or something. I'd prefer the MX one, but I think you can convert one into the other when you feel like it after getting it out of the plastic (that's why it's called reversible). No need to worry about those things. :)

Bumping because I have a question. Online shop has been restyled, and the European has a lot more stuff than before. I found out there's a sweet Parachutes shirt in the shop. I might buy it. Only problem, the size is a bit risky, what if I buy the wrong size? I can't exchange. Most of my shirts are medium, but some of them are really short. Others are perfect. Some large ones are great. Does anybody know if the sizes are relatively small or large (also after washing)? If they are relatively small I might go for a large one...

Yeah, seriously. If any b-sides, we won't have heard of them, very very little chance it will be those fanmade or fan derived titles we don't even know what they would sound like if they were real tracks. If we have heard of them, it will be a nice surprise. now stop worrying about it people.

LP2 will always be their masterpiece if you ask me. I don't see them surpass that level. Anyway, I'm sure they will make more. Maybe they'll leave EMI and do it on their own, who knows. The band members get along very well and they love making music more than anything. Chris is a waterfall of songs and tunes (ranging from bad to fantastic ;)), especially obvious when you see how many ideas they had to scrap for LP5 (I'll continue calling it like that, I'm too much used to it :p). Even if they want to stop, they will hardly be able to. When Chris said "Working on an album as if it's our last" it means that's the way to make it as good as possible. Never mind, I see ApproximatelyInfinite already penned down my exact thoughts.

I love how all the other covers (except Viva's) are so sober yet beautiful. Can't say the same about MX. It looks a lot better than ETIAW's though, where the colours were so bright and kitschy and didn't fit together, it is so ugly it hurts my eyes. But this one is ok really. I kinda like how it has lyrics scribbled all over it, amazing reading material. :lol: But I hate the font of MYLOXYLOTO. That's ugly and doesn't fit with the graffiti background. The "reversible cover" as they call it looks really nice actually, well done.

^ and ^^ Yeah I figured it was some English thing. In Dutch it's different, "Xylofoon" is pronounced Ksilofoon and not "Zylofoon" or "Eksilofoon". I'm learning every day.

The craze has only just begun. Tracklisting, deciphering the cover art... There's a lot of work to be done :P Also, why is the X in Xyloto pronounced as a Z and not as an X?

So I browse this forum and the official site every day for months on end, and now I have to find the announcement when reading the music news on television text! So, our assumptions have been confirmed. Nice title. I really don't like the artwork but at least it's not as kitschy or as bad as the ETIAW artwork, which was awful. Speaking of awful, I see "every tear's a waterfall" scribbled on the artwork. This makes me fear that ETIAW will really be on it after all :( But I'm happy at least now we know. :) Also, Paradise in September, fingers crossed!

Where's the "none of the above" option? Never ETIAW, and it's not going to happen anyway. Maybe Mylo Xyloto. We'll see.

I think the professional photographers have access to the front stage, that's why he's so close. At smaller concerts of smaller bands at smaller venues/festivals where you can easily get to the first rows, you can see the photographers crawling over each other maniacally taking pictures during the first songs. But I remember one photographer in the middle of the crowd during Kaiser Chiefs two years ago at Werchter. It was funny.

Probably, yeah. Let's wait until we hear something from coldplay.com

I read the article. They should make more pics of the other members. It's as if Coldplay equals Chris Martin. Very, very nice pic though.

I know what you mean. It will never happen... I wish to see them play less known old songs, a bit like they're doing Everything's Not Lost and Life Is For Living. And I also like the fact that Chris plays the guitar more often, it stops him from running around and it's better for his singing. But... I'm afraid that, after the release of LP5, they will play more new songs and drop the less known older songs, ending up with 10 new songs, In My Place, Yellow, Fix You, Viva La Vida and some other big singles. :\ Fingers crossed that it won't happen.

Warning Sign - 11 There are other songs in between (3 times The National and once Arctic Monkeys), that explains the numbers in front. So that doesn't seem like a lot, but before I had about 100 plays of Clocks, Clocks live 2003, Clocks LRLRL, Politik, etc. That's also odd since my favourites A Rush of Blood to the Head (live) and Spies aren't in it. :thinking: I listen to the whole of AROBTTH a lot, that explains things.
