Lover's In Japan Live (dont you miss it?)
Shocking how everyone seems to agree that Lovers In Japan > Lost!
-
Why am I not liking this?
Wut. A Whisper is a lot better than all songs they made that are too cheesy (Fix You), too immaturely commercial (ETIAW) or too anthem-like (Viva La Vida).

coldplay vs radiohead
I should have added an extra dose of sarcasm.

How many Coldplay songs do you have on your ipod/mp3, etc.?
188. Albums of course and a lot of live, and b-sides. No remixes, I basically hate those. Also some double ones (radio cuts I don't listen to anyway) and low-quality crap, some covers. I admit, when I shuffle my Coldplay songs, I skip a lot. I should get rid of some low quality live recordings too. Also, ETIAW EP is not on it. :o

What would you name "LP5"?
I heard the interview on BBC 4. The new album will be called "Stop the Pigeon".

I actually find this topic a little interesting.

What would you name "LP5"?
I'm sorry to say, but I dislike all proposed titles, except Major Minus, but it won't be that because we're too used to that name. They'll give us something that sounds fresh and new. Spray Can Soul, geez :\

coldplay vs radiohead
Yay finally a thread that compares Coldplay to Radiohead!

ELIMINATION GAME OF A LOT OF COLDPLAY SONGS
Has anyone noticed how The Scientist had 47 points and then disappeared in the next post, a few pages back?

Lover's In Japan Live (dont you miss it?)
It wasn't around before 2008 and Coldplay already made fantastic shows. I know lots of people would miss Viva La Vida if it was left out, so I get your point. They won't do that of course, I certainly wouldn't mind though. Still, I'd rather have Lovers in Japan than Lost. But I'm really glad with the addition of older songs. Shiver! Everything's Not Lost! Life Is For Living!!

That's the title.

The Keeper Thread
I'd also like to keep: "Give me real don't give me fake" Chris' intro of Trouble, hesitating to start the song during the Live 2003 performance in Sydney (during which everyone thinks "Play the goddamn song already") Chris' enthusiasm during the Parachutes launch show Jonny's epic intro of Spies in the live versions in 2001/2002 Jonny's background vocals during Daylight during the Live 2003 performance in Sydney Jonny's bridges in Major Minus (Live) Will giving Chris a hard time on the lyrics of newly written songs Guy's baseline in Us Against The World Is this too much at once? :p

Less popular songs...
My favourite Coldplay songs change all the time, but it has been A Rush of Blood To The Head for a while, along with Spies. Especially the live versions in which Jonny shines at his absolute best. As a b-side, I Ran Away comes very close to these. The only Coldplay song in history that has brought water to my eyes.

A really nice tribute
Great article. I also read an amazing review of an amazing album, High Violet by The National.

The Buckland Religion~Official Thread
I want to be converted to this religion. Jonny is the most modest, skillful and constant member of the band.

LP5 finished in 2 weeks?
I have a great strategy to make the long wait more bearable. 1. Listening to A Rush of Blood to the Head. There is no chance that the new album will be better anyway  2. Thinking it won't be good, since, after their breathtaking conquest of the world in name of AROBTTH, it all went downhill, starting with the 42 million tons of cheese called Fix You, going on with the unrecognisable cheap premature teen pleasing ETIAW. (I seem to be slightly exaggerating here, I may be not.) 3. I'm not waiting for an album with a stupid title (Mixomatosis Xanthippe) I can't pronounce correctly anyway. And so on. Four good to fantastic albums, still great b-sides and EPs, a bunch of live stuff, et cetera. Life beyond Coldplay, if possible (hardly in my case :p). I can wait.

Coldplay messing up live
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebyhIbdfXCo]YouTube - Coldplay - Green Eyes & Mooie Elle[/ame] I think Jonny fucks up in this one, leading to Chris hysterically laughing. Also features a funny song in Dutch. It's only audio though. Credits to the uploader.

[2-July-2011] Coldplay @ Rock Werchter festival, Belgium
White Lies weren't that good imo. *ducks* And really, never believe what Humo says. The reporter apparently doesn't like Coldplay at all, and instead of reviewing the concert, he probably wrote the article in advance. Humo can be very predictable: Selah Sue and Triggerfinger (I've seen Triggerfinger and they were in fact really great, I haven't seen Selah Sue) both had 4/4, and I think that was meant to be. It's Humo's job to promote (read: hype in an exaggerated way) these Belgian artists and never say one bad word about them.

The Keeper Thread
Alright, I've been here for a month! Can I please keep: Shiver (Live at Rock Werchter 2011) and "I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war, if you could tell me something worth fighting for"?

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
A Rush Of Blood To The Head and Spies
