" Major Minus " LP5 Title?
I think they don't even know themselves what they will include in the album now. I'll still hold on to my 0.000000000001% of Major Minus hope.

So does this mean Major Minus wont be on the album?!
What the hell? Seriously, does this mean that crap like ETIAW will fill the album, while their best songs like Major Minus will be left out as ordinary B-sides? What a huge disappointment. Also, no Major Minus as album title, whatever it will be, it won't be half as good as we thought it would be. This makes me think 3 things: 1. They are the best band in the world but paradoxically seem to have no taste in good music (anymore). How on earth could they like superficial shit like ETIAW more than Major Minus? or 2. They are going for a more immature audience, leaving their old fans behind. They don't care what we think. Everybody will think about Coldplay as just another pop band and they will love or hate Coldplay for all the wrong reasons. While Coldplay are (used to be) instead a great deep mature alternative band. I was too young to be fully into their old more mature mature music 10 years ago. Now that I'm slowly turning adult, they seem to make the reverse movement. and/or, most likely: 3. Now that Major Minus is a B-side, they know that fans who don't like ETIAW will buy the single because of the B-side. Few people will dislike both songs. Ka-ching. EDIT: ^that also makes sense

This is not funny
I chuckled a bit. I'm mostly offended by the fact that it says "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" is a typically Coldplayish name. It's not.

The LP5 Coldplay Lyrics Thread!!!

Lukas Should Have Been Saved For LP5
Natalie did a good job. What about Famous Old Painters? Even without lyrics it sounds way better than a lot of things (even good ones) they have released.

MEGAPOLL! Guess the LP5 tracklisting announcement day! (WINNERS! 9th September: Drew42LP5 and Megalo
August 8th coz it's mah birth dee :p Wait, no it's not. August 8th because it's the first Monday after they've finished their summer tour (there's a huge gap, their next show will be on September 16th). They will reveal tracklisting, release date (mid September, right before Austin Limits) and a new single to be released later that weak (12th of August, possibly). I do hope it will be earlier on. Why is everyone voting for July 1st? Would be a great coincidence, first day of the month, right in between 2 shows.

You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
That is, not like "You're gay because you listen to Coooldplaaay". I don't even remember which show or film that was. Although I thought it was funny. I agree very much with the first post of this page.

Your Coldplay Dream Setlist
They have done it before, they did it regularly during their Viva tour. That was in 1h30. There's a lot of bands out there who play shows of 2 hours or longer, so why not? :)

Your Coldplay Dream Setlist
I'd like them to rock us away with their greatest hits first, and then play their greatest and darkest songs towards the end of the show. This will be around 2 hours long. 1. Politik 2. Cemeteries Of London 3. Yellow 4. In My Place 5. Major Minus 6. Don't Panic 7. Viva La Vida 8. Glass Of Water 9. Spies 10. God Put A Smile Upon Your Face 11. Strawberry Swing 12. Clocks 13. Trouble 14. Parachutes 15. A Message 16. Shiver 17. I Ran Away 18. A Rush Of Blood To The Head 19. Death And All His Friends Encore: 20. Charlie Brown 21. Til Kingdom Come 22. Fix You Encore 2: 23. The Scientist 24. Life Is For Living

" Major Minus " LP5 Title?
I'm not sure about the hints they give us, but I think we can rely on Major Minus as a title. But I'm almost certain that nothing about the album cover art has been given away, that would be too easy. I dig the walking man though. But that won't be it, for sure.

Major Minus Media?
Thanks. I don't play the guitar. Music lessons with #'s and keys and stuff are already years behind me.

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
Anything that reminds me of Every Teardrop seems to activate a zone in my brain that makes me fill this forum with complaints and rants. I usually regret later. Just hit me when you see me doing that again.

Major Minus Media?
I thought it was the short instrumental part between Back To The Future Theme and Hurts Like Heaven? Are the "bluey", "reddy" things referring to the lighting?

LP5: Johnny Buckland to shine
Yes. I'm trying not to listen too much until I see them at Werchter though.

The 'negative' ETIAW discussion
That's not what I was trying to say. I meant that I'm positive that Coldplay consider ETIAW as a serious song that shouldn't be restricted to a certain period during the year, judging how they love it themselves. They don't release singles of which they know that it won't be remembered after whatever season it was released in, barring Christmas Lights, which is obviously a Christmas song (though I'm sure some people still listen to it around this time). Briefly, Coldplay themselves wouldn't want ETIAW to be just a summer song.

I guess you're all right. I hereby swallow my complaint.

" Major Minus " LP5 Title?
What kind of an album name would MX be? Even shorter than X&Y, and it means nothing. M Xylobrites is hardly pronouncable by anyone and it sounds bad. I think MX might be the name of that little intro they use before Hurts Like Heaven, I expect that to be the album opener, followed by Hurts Like Heaven, a bit like Life In technicolor. For the album title, I think Major Minus would be great. I'm 90% certain that will be the title. There's a good 10% chance that they're messing with our minds even harder than we thought and that nothing of what I've said here will be true.

Which Song Do You Want Most To Hear?
I never expected that they'd play Life Is For Living, but they're doing it on every new show! That's amazing! And they even added Trouble to their set at Pinkpop! I would be soooo happy if they do that again at Wechter. Actually I'd be disapointed if they don't, knowing that they did it at Pinkpop. Two songs are at lonely heights in my list, Spies and A Rush Of Blood To The Head, in no particular order, I just can't choose. Definitely the two best live performances of all time, any band. I would jump for joy if they left ETIAW out for one of these, but not in the encore, rather in the middle of the show. I am 120% certain that they won't though.

LP5: Johnny Buckland to shine
So do I. Still it happens all the time. A Dutch reporter ditched Major Minus saying it is "tacky", and saying it's like copied from U2 and it's as if the Edge is playing the guitar. How I hate that guy now :p. Hey, it's fucking Jonny, you know?
-
Do they care?
Plus a greatest hits album, am I wrong?
-
Do they care?
I'm also wondering, would EMI have any authority about the kind of music they make?
-
LP5: Johnny Buckland to shine
So do I. Let's make an agree train. Forget about the Edge. Long live our Jonnyboy.

The 'negative' ETIAW discussion
It could be for a lot of people, although not for me. But then again, Coldplay doesn't make "summer songs". Coldplay doesn't go there. Coldplay makes music. I've not seen Biutiful, no, seems like a good film though from what I've heard, about the Oscars and stuff.
