So who else thinks this is by far Coldplay's weakest album yet?
I think we need to distinguish between 'weak' and 'worst'. Technically, Parachutes was their weakest. Now don't get me wrong, I love it to death, as I do with all the albums. But it was their first outing, and they weren't a very strong band at that point. AROBTTH was a more confident album, building on things that had started on Parachutes. Then X & Y was an even more confident album, with their first shot at commercial success, which they almost pulled off seamlessly (Love this album too, btw). Then their's Viva la Vida, which hit commercial success right on the dot. Possibly my favorite album. Then there's Mylo Xyloto. It has catchy tunes, that slight pop element which is necessary nowadays, and a story. Quite possibly there strongest album, and it's duking it out with VLV to be my favorite. Now that's just my thoughts on it.

Starbucks track?
From Coldplay's twitter: Mylo Xyloto is available to buy in all @Starbucks in the U.S., plus you can get a free track via the Starbucks Digital Network instore. A Is this a new track, or is it just a track from the album? Does anybody know?

Mystery Lyrics..
If there were an EP, I think it would be called Major Minus Media.

iTunes Cover art
I just downloaded Mylo Xyloto from iTunes, and I have a question; is the silver MX cover the only cover that comes attached? Does iTunes not have the colorful cover. and if so, who has a high-quality picture of it to use instead?

Which song will be most popular?
PoC will definitely be a huge radio hit, Charlie Brown close behind, and I can see DLIBYH being the next huge stadium hit like Lost.
-
LP6?
I believe LP6 will be based heavily around the nose flute, and incorporate the word butterfly in every other line.

Not the Version Heard at the Austin Listening Party
The one on iTunes sounds better than the leaked version (or at least to me). That might indicate that the leak is, in fact, not complete, like an early version

Sigur Rós influence
The first part is more inspired by Leonard Cohen, since they had borrowed a line from him. It also references a "Wonderful world" which is possibly a reference to Louis Armstrong, who to me is quite similar to Cohen and Cohen has confessed that What a Wonderful World is one of his favorites, and Coldplay have covered that before, so the beginning seems to be inspired by Cohen if anything

Biggest Disappointment and Surprise of Mylo Xyloto
Disappointing: The vocals and possibly mixing on HLH and Charlie Brown, it just feels like they're missing the mark (ya see what I did there?). Also, the very last line on Up in Flames I think would have sounded better if it were the way they had done it live, not in that higher voice Surprise: How absolutely spectacular the rest of the album is! The actual track Mylo Xyloto was a bit different, but that's fine. HLH and Charlie Brown, which may be fixed if this is indeed an incomplete version, are still great, and Up in Flames is still a simple, touching song. Princess of China, despite being the most dreaded track by most people, was pulled off quite well. And U.F.O., DLIBYH, and Up with the Birds are better than I could have hoped! Up with the Birds and DLIBYH are probably my favorite songs of the album.

Studio Version
I think that more could be done to clean it up. If the way Chris hit his low notes was fixed, and if they made the duet (Will's part) louder and brought it out a bit more, it would be completely perfect. Will's part just doesn't sound completely there. It's more like a guideline or placeholder as if another voice was supposed to be there, which I think is a bit odd; do they plan on having another person on that part? Because Will's voice is perfect for this part, and it would be a shame to have it replaced.

Viva La Vida vs. Mylo Xyloto
Round 1: Life In Technicolor Round 2: Hurts Like Heaven (Now the Osaka Sun Mix may be a different story) Round 3: Paradise Round 4: Major Minus Round 5: Viva La Vida AND Charlie Brown (I declare a tie!) Round 6: Strawberry Swing (Now I like ETIAW, but against Strawberry Swing, it doesn't stand much of a chance) Round 7: Princess Of China Round 8: Up In Flames Round 9: Us Against The World Round 10: U.F.O. Round 11: Don't Let It Break Your Heart Round 12: The Escapist Final Round: Up With The Birds Some of the match-ups were bad, but I am leaning very favorably towards MX because it's new and fresh for me. VLV is a great album, but right know I would want to listen to MX more

Lyrics?!
The birds they sang At break of day Start again I hear them say It's so hard to just walk away The birds they sang All the choir Start again, a little higher It's a spark in a sea of grey The sky is blue Dreamed out loud till it's true Then taken back apart shine through My arms turn wings Oh those clumsy things Send me up to that wonderful world And then I'm Up With The Birds Might have to go Where they don't know my name Float all over the world Just to see her again And I won't show a fear, any pain Even though all my armor might rust in the rain A simple plot But I know one thing Good things are coming our way A simple plot But I know one thing Good things are coming our way Oh yeah The very beginning reminded me a bit of Christmas Lights, and thus also Wedding Bells, and then that tempo change kicks in a bit like Death and All of His Friends. This could quite easily be my favorite song on this album, it's incredible!

THIS IS NOT THE FINAL VERSION OF MYLO XYLOTO?
I agree with some of the people on here; some parts sound almost messy, so this leak may very well be an incomplete version. Which means, since I like it know, I'll love the official version!

MX Review (Austin Listening Party)
I can't tell if this is legit or not. Her review talks about songs we've already heard in one way or another, and as for songs we haven't heard (UWTB, DLIBYH, M.M.I.X.) she goes along with some of the pre-established ideas we have about them here on the forums. And wasn't Mylo Xyloto registered as a 3:30 long track? (Unless they're gonna release that later, a la LiT ii). And she didn't even mention U.F.O or A Hopeful Transmission, which we haven't made a general assumption about yet. Now I could be wrong, and if this review is accurate, I'll eat my hat. EDIT: Appears I'm already partly wrong. UWTB was registered as 3:30, not Mylo Xyloto

Up In Flames-what was that?
Dude, it's simple, not shallow. It's a simple, beautiful song that's supposed to be touching and emotional. Maybe you're just being shallow in the way you think/look at it. It's like what Tugatrix said, it's closer to older Coldplay; it's reminiscent of songs off of Parachutes, and maybe off AROBTH.

The xylophone part played by Guy and Chris in that video is in Paradise!
I noticed that, but at the beginning of the song!

Let's just calm down...

Could Us Against The World Be About The Time Chris Kicked Will Out Of The Band?
Well, at Glastonbury Chris said the song was about two lovers, so unless some of the strange sketches I've seen on here are true, it's safe to say the song is not about Will and Chris

What are your thoughts about their new single?
I think it'll have a lively, upbeat instrument part like Lovers In Japan, except maybe on guitar, and the lyrics will detail this wonderful, better place, in a narrative style, which is what the Billboard Q&A said it was (the narrative part, anyway).

So While Watching the Lollapalooza Gig..
Not related to new lyrics, but it was awesome when Chris just threw his guitar behind him when he was having problems with it during Yellow. I'm sorry, when I saw the thread title that was the first thing I thought of
