  3. if your dreams are better than your life, whats the point of living?
  4. Kiame replied to amsterdam's topic in Coldplay
I thought this thread was pretty much girls only. You're breaking all these preconceived notions about sexuality, and I like it.
  5. I say it's smarter to rank the songs with the instrumentals combined with the song they proceed. I also say there is already a thread for this.
  6. My boyfriend has the exact same watch and was wearing it long before Chris Martin ever appeared with it. Now he doesn't wear it anymore. Fuck you, Chris Martin. I liked that watch.
  7. My two housemates were good friends before I met them, so I was already disadvantaged. Plus I am out a lot. So I'm kind of like the third wheel. They like me and we get along, but yeah the little things do annoy you. I hate it when they go out to get food or supplies and don't ask me if I need anything. I always do that for them and always have done - so it annoys me when they don't. And that's about it.
  8. Gwen needs to punch that bitch out.
  9. Hey Jude vs Fix You
  10. Fanks Lauch :) It looks a bit different now, I got a few things added to it last week :) xx
  11. X&Y is Coldplay's worst album. It's thematically messy, it's sonically messy and it's the most try hard the band has ever been. They really went for that U2 epic alt-rock band title and failed horribly. I've heard the band went through a tough time then too, and I think it shows. It's no coincidence they completely reinvented themselves after X&Y. And thank God they did. X&Y is not only a bad Coldplay album, I think it is a bad album full stop. Fix You is a masterpiece though. So props for that.
  12. I think both Fix You, Viva la Vida and Charlie Brown are all better live than they are in the studio versions. haha.
  13. I think Viva is the better song by quite a long way. RIGHT NOW I'd prefer to listen to Charlie Brown, but that's just because I've heard Viva a million times before. But when Viva came out, I couldn't stop listening to it. It was amazing. It had more power than Charlie Brown does. But they are both fantastic songs. Two of Coldplay's best.
  14. Not much annoys me more than the song the dog days are over. *shudder* Please don't tell me that was the song you sang. That would have been hilarious.
  15. People gotta start beating down on these motherfucking police. I saw the footage, it was disgusting. Police walking up to peaceful protesters and fucking them up with tear gas and batons. They should fully expect someone to do the same to them. That's what I can't stand about the Western world - when a copper gets assaulted by someone, the whole country goes into outrage. But when a police officer wrongfully assaults an innocent person (Which happens WAY more than everyone realises) barely anyone says anything. If you give it out, you gotta expect to take it back. If they want to go around cracking people's heads in - they can't take the moral high ground if someone gives it back to them. I like the police 90% of the time, but it's shit like this that pisses me off about them. They really are the monkeys of the powerful. These people are out there protesting for economic equity and these police - the VERY people the protesters are trying to help - are going around smacking their shit up. As if anyone on wall street gives a shit about the police. Why the hell are the police fighting against their interests? They should be right there, shoulder to shoulder with the civilians! You have to seriously question the character of a man who blindly accepts orders that hurt innocent people. Fuck the police. That's all I have to say. :)
  16. I'm not a huge fan of her music, but I liked the album a lot. I think it's better than Lungs, but yeah - as I said I'm probably not a good person to judge it as I didn't like Lungs very much.
  17. agree. Kill it with fire!
  18. And this is exactly why your posts annoy me. You act so terribly arrogant. You see me defending MX and calling you out over the way you are going around trashing it, and you assume I'm a fan girl. I don't "blindly worship" anything Coldplay does. I'm yet to see someone on the forum give a harsher review of X&Y than I have. I rate X&Y much lower than you rate MX. But of course, you don't really care in taking the effort into actually looking at a person and seeing what they think, you just prefer to call us "fan girls" because we get annoyed when someone likes you just rolls in and trashes everyone without offering any discussion value at all. "PARADISE ISN'T EVEN A SONG!" Is classic example of one of your posts. That's not opinion, that's not insightful, that's just baiting people into confronting you. And you wonder why some people take issue with your posts. I understand completely why people don't like the new album. I understand completely why you don't. The artists you chose for your thirty best songs of the year were all in the same field. You clearly aren't a fan of the type of music Coldplay make right now. And that's totally fine. I don't care that you hate the album, at all. If I cared if people didn't like the album I wouldn't get any sleep - because there is someone on here expressing negative opinions literally ever hour. However 90% of them actually have a grasp their own egos and manage to do so thoughtfully and respectfully. What I care about is the way you go about doing it and how rude you are. This post proves exactly what I'm talking about. Calling me a fangirl and assuming I don't listen to any music other than Coldplay. And don't say just because you weren't directly talking to me doesn't mean you weren't targeting me. You clearly were - and many other people you would call "fan girls" who I will stick up for too. A lot of posts? I've seen one person say that the whole time I have been here, and that is JoeCortazzo. The reason why I remember was because I was blown away by the fact he only listens to one band.
  19. You have to be considerate of just how hectic Coldplay's schedule has been lately. I really doubt they even had the time to work out any new live songs or move the setlist around. Let's reserve our judgement until the boys have a bit more time.
  20. If you read my post, and that's all you took from it - I gotta question your comprehension. My argument has more to do with the way he goes about it all.
  21. And this paragraph defeats your whole theory. EXACTLY. Coldplay have constructed imagery that means something and reflects their themes. Hence the alien spirals. Hence the butterflies. Hence the graffiti art. All of those things are heavy themes in the music as well. So it makes sense. Burmese Zodiacs... uhhh what? How are Zodiacs reflected in the music at all? They've got nothing to do with anything on the album. So why would Coldplay construct their artwork around something so irrelevent? Answer is: They haven't. You're drawing incorrect parallels. Like I said earlier - I think you're clutching at straws. There is always one person on the forums trying to prove some obscure connection to something, and nine times out of ten they're wrong. You're wrong here.
  22. Please quote the part of my post where I insulted you. I certainly can't see where I did. I apologise if you thought that I did. And the Burmese Zodiac wheel barely has any resemblance whatsoever. Certain push bike tires would have more resemblance. You're looking for meaning where there isn't any. If any of the boys were inspired by zodiac, I think they would have said by now. None of the rhetoric or themes of the album deal with zodiacs at all. You're clutching at straws.
  23. Ugh here we go again haha. No. There is not zodiac meaning behind the album. No. You aren't going to discover a secret code.
  24. I like the MX look the best. I thought the Viva costumes were cool, but they seemed a little bit contrived. Chris looked ridiculous walking around doing radio interviews and stuff in a period resistance piece. I think the MX costumes walk the right line between awesome costumes and actually look like proper clothing. Plus I love high tops and bright colours. Soo..
