  1. I too think it is their best by quite a mile. Innovation, uniqueness, technical ability and overall message. It's an amazing album. We are in the minority here Connor!
  2. She's Australian. MX is released in Australia in three days. :)
  3. Couldn't disagree more. The reason Moving To Mars was scrapped it because it didn't fit. It was the unhappy ending. MMIX allows the transition from Us Against the World to Every Teardrop as a Waterfall seem seamless. If you took it out it would be way too harsh and jarring. AHT is amazing. It marks the point the couple come together again (or perhaps accept the fact they aren't together and move on). After Up in Flames and Princess of China, it is pretty clear there is sadness and conflict. AHT beams off after Up in Flames like a flash of hope in the dark. Up in Flames ends very sadly, but with a hope of resolution. "could we pour some water on?" meaning - can we try to fix this. AHT symbolizes the process of coming back together again in the name of hope and optimism. That's why it's called "A Hopeful Transmission". It allows the record to make a turn in the narrative. They rally under it and then it ends with Don't let it break your heart and UWTB to finish the happy ending off. Good things are coming their way.
  4. Completely. It has a narrative. However, the songs also have a stand alone quality to them. It's done perfectly.
  5. Right, because Will has no say on what the drumbeat on Coldplay songs sound like. :whatever: The drum beat was probably his idea. He is the drummer. To my knowledge, he composes all of the drum beats in all their songs.
  6. Am I hearing a "of" before the youuuu part. So it's like Still I won't let go, Still I won't let go, of youuuu That's what it sounds like to me.
  7. Yes I love it.
  8. I'm going to include the instrumentals with the songs they precede. 1. MMIX/Every Teardrop is a Waterfall 2. Mylo Xyloto/Hurts Like Heaven 3. Up in Flames 4. U.F.O 5. A Hopeful Transmission/Don't Let it Break your Heart 6. Us Against the World 7. Charlie Brown 8. Princess of China 9. Up with the Birds 10. Major Minus 11. Paradise. There isn't a bad song on there though. I adore them all.
  9. 1. Mylo Xyloto 2. Viva La Vida or Death and all his Friends. 3. A Rush of Blood to the Head 4. Parachutes 5. X&Y
  10. Kiame replied to dadedade's topic in U.F.O.
How can you roll upstream? :laugh3: It's rowing.
  11. Disappointment: I would have liked the random piano notes that Chris plays live in UIF at the beginning of the song to be on the studio version of the song. Seriously. THAT's my disappointment. Yeah, I think this album is perfect. Surprise: Probably the mixing of HLH. so much more amazing and powerful than I expected.
  12. I like Chris' voice cracking during the low notes. Beautiful and unpolished - which fits the song perfectly. I think it's a real gem.
  13. Well they should certainly remove themselves from the forum. If you pirate music and don't buy it later, that's stealing in my eyes. I don't care if you don't like the album or not.
  14. Yeah, no problems. I've got the album on order anyway so I'll see. By the way, anyone on here who has leaked the album and isn't going to buy a copy has no respect in my eyes. You can't possibly call yourself a Coldplay fan if you do that. For shame.
  15. need studio of charlie brown. will give out hand jobs/blow jobs dependign on quality.
  16. Really? I think it sounds very Coldplayish. Probably the most like the traditional Coldplay out of the stuff we've heard.
  17. Kiame replied to Basilica's topic in Princess Of China
Those lyrics are wrong in a few places. I have a good ear for Rihanna, these are the lyrics, I'm 99% sure: Once upon a time somebody ran, Somebody ran away saying "fast as I can" I got to go. I got to go. Once upon a time we fell apart, you hold it your hands, the two halves of my heart. Oh-ho. Once upon a time we weren't right, and all we ever seemed to do is fight. On and on. And on and on and on. Once upon a time on the same side, once upon a time on the same side and the same game. Now why'd you have to go? Have to go and throw water on my flame. I could have been a princess, you'd be a king. I could have had a castle and worn a ring but no, you let me go. I could have been a princess, you'd be a king. I could have had a castle and worn a ring but no, you let me go. You stole my star, la, la, la la... You stole my star, la,la,la,la.... 'Cause you really hurt me Oh you really hurt me 'Cause you really hurt me Oh you really hurt me 'Cause you really hurt me Oh you really hurt me 'Cause you really hurt me You really hurt me. ----- Like I said, I listen to quite a lot of Rihanna and a lot of people are misinterpreting the lyrics based on her accent. "Water on my flame" is correct, I'm sure. It also matches the rhetoric expressed in Up in Flames. And Chris normally keeps themes consistent throughout CP albums.
  18. No probs man. Yeah, but the problem is you can't back it up with anything concrete. It's all based on a feeling you have. You guys are citing examples of bad lyrics, but I can quite easily cite them from previous albums. Especially when I pick them up out of context, like you guys are doing. MX's lyrics are no worse than any other album. The main thing I'm annoyed at is how disrespectful this thread is. You can't say this stuff about a person you don't know - especially when everyone who meets him say the exact opposite. Chris Martin is probably the last person on Earth who would let fame go to his head.
  19. Intelligent post there. Loved the way you actually typed something that required a brain cell. :P Can someone who has actually met Chris come in here and back me up? I think saying this stuff is incredibly disrespectful, especially about someone they've never met.
  20. The Rihanna fan flood will bring in some sexy people though. I'm down with that. This forum needs more sexy. You and I are keeping the sexy alive almost by our self! *Other members that are keeping the sexy alive include: Tracie, Parrotdies and Connor.
  21. Don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but the sense of honour and shame is still incredibly alive and well in Japan. People weren't even looting during the earthquakes. An employee stealing from their provider of work is an act that the Japanese feel disgraces their entire family and their own character. It's incredibly serious over there. I think Tracie has a fantastic point. Japanese workers are far less likely to steal from their place of work than Westerners are. That, in my mind, is a huge part of the reason this hasn't leaked yet.
