  1. No, no, no. The lyrics are clearly: "...We'll be writing to say 'We won't let them take control, no we won't let them take control'" Listen again.
  2. I'm not sure, but there was a lot of hate direct at Gwyneth Paltrow in the thread about her. I think it is just jealousy there. A certain type of fan girl actually has a part of their brain that believes they will meet and marry Chris Martin, so naturally Gwyneth is hated for that.
  3. The hate Coldplay get is completely disproportional. The hate Chris Martin gets is even more disproportional to other popular musicians.
  4. I can honestly say I've never experienced that. The reason I disliked the "queen bees" in High School wasn't because they were popular, but it was because they thought they were better than you because they were. It was their arrogance and their elitism that I didn't like. But Coldplay don't have that at all. I guess certain personalities just like to shoot down high fliers.
  5. Simple question. Coldplay, and more specifically - Chris, comes under a lot of fire quite often. I've heard Chris been insulted with nearly every name in the sun from a pile of sources. And I just don't understand why. Chris seems to be a very likable, kind person and I can't think of anything he has done that would attract so much hatred. So why is it? Is it because of the sheer popularity? Jealousy? Or is it something else? Bonus Question! Why do some people get enjoyment from insulting others they don't know?
  6. Songs that I think won't be on the album: Major Minus Moving to Mars. I do think Every Teardrop is a Waterfall will be on there. They close with it and they have a single out with a video. How many times have they done that before? Apart from Christmas Lights which was clearly a one off Christmas special.
  7. Every teardrop is a waterfall is one of my all time favourite songs. Already. I fucking love it and nothing makes me more happy than that song. It's beautiful and it is a sheer celebration of life! X
  8. 1) Lost! 2) In My Place 3) Yellow 4) Lovers In Japan/Reign of Love 5) The Scientist 6) Politik 7) Swallowed in the Sea 8) Viva la Vida 9) Strawberry Swing 10) Rush of Blood to the Head 11) Fix You 12) See you Soon 13) Every teardrop is a Waterfall
  9. But what about a solo like the solo in Moving To Mars or In My Place, where Jonny just riffs the melody of the song. I assume Chris wrote the melodies and Jonny just plans them out on the guitar?
  10. I'd be interested to know how many of the guitar riffs Jonny himself actually writes. I assume Chris has written some. Does anyone know?
  11. Yeah, Jonny Buckland is a champ. Possibly one of the best guitarists in popular music today. The song is fantastic.
  12. I don't see why that has to be a reason as to why cruel behaviour is okay. It's almost like you can't try to elevate behaviour, because everyone is there to say "that's just how it is!" How it is needs to improve! :D
  13. None, I really wish I could sing. If I could sing then I'd learn an instrument!
  14. You view The Hardest Part to be a happy song? Wow, isn't it amazing how the very same song can create two completely different interpretations and emotions. I think The Hardest Part is very regretful and sorrowful: "Everything I know is wrong Everything I do, it's just comes undone And everything is torn apart" But, that's the beauty of music I guess! It's always good to take something positive from everything though. Yes, I agree, ETIAW is so happy. It is already one of my all time favourite songs - not from a technical perspective, but because of its message and emotion it carries. It's a fantastic thing that should be celebrated!
  15. Why can't we lay off? Apple is a beautiful name and I'm sure she is a beautiful child. Her name is no ones business except her parents. How does her name effect any of us? Are we that insecure that we need to debate over the name and tease the family? X.
  16. I think Every Teardrop is a Waterfall works wonders. It's got so much energy and is a fantastic celebration of ...celebrating! So when you guys are feeling down or angry or frustrated, what coldplay song do you listen to? Xx.
  17. Just so everyone knows, the lyrics are wrong in one particular section. "I'm coming out to get us... I'm coming out when they don't know the facts" Is really "how come they're out to get us. how come they're out when they don't know the facts."
  18. Those aren't the lyrics, they don't make sense at all. It's "How come they're out to get us? How come they're out when they don't know the facts?" Very, very clear in this video: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9OE2vwwH9c]YouTube - ‪(HD) Coldplay Hurts like Heaven / Yellow/ In My Place Live on Rock Werchter 2011‬‏[/ame] at around 3:45
  19. 4 X&Y 3 Parachutes 2 Rush of Blood to the Head 1 Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends
  20. I love most of Hurts Like Heaven, in particular: "How come they're out to get us? How come they're out when they don't know the facts?"

Hello everyone! My name is Kiame and I am a huge Coldplay fan and have been since the early 2000's. It's a pleasure to finally join you all :) x
  22. She's beautiful.
  23. I doubt Moving To Mars will actually be on the record. I really don't believe they would release three LP feature songs on one EP. It could happen, but I really - really - doubt it.
  24. I think it is more like David Bowie than Pink Floyd
  25. Chris, definitely!
