LOLdplay: I Can Haz Cake?
Hehe, I was just meaning that given I'm already listening to something sexy, I don't know if reading that thread is going to overwhelm me even more. Or something like that. I don't know. It's after 2 am here, so sometimes I stop making sense around this time of night :p. Hope you have a good day at work. You'll know my reaction by the time you get home. Presuming I survive .

LOLdplay: I Can Haz Cake?
I'm sitting, and in something soft and comfy. Don't have the water, though, may need to go get that. I'm also listening to "Yes". Which is a super sexy song. So, I don't know if that's going to hurt or help me when I venture in there.

LOLdplay: I Can Haz Cake?
Oh, Chris, you don't know what you've likely further unleashed with that "cake" mention in your text... I love his run-on sentence . "There's a lot I want to comment on so I'll just try and cram it all into this text there I'm done." I haven't been in there yet. I'm sooooooooo tempted and curious now :D.

I hadn't, no! Those were awesome. I agree, cool to hear Will sing-I like that song, very...sea shanty-ish, or something. Also the sort of song I could hear a bunch of guys singing along to in a pub, glasses of beer up in the air. Or whatever. He's quite the versatile musician, too-he can play drums, piano, and guitar. Impressive! I like the "I heart" bits, too, though it's a shame we don't get to hear what it is Guy hearts. Maybe he hearts nothing :p? Loved the performance of "Lost". And "Billie Jean"-that was fantastic. I quite liked that. Another musician I like, Neil Finn, has covered that song as well-don't know what it is about my favorite artists and that song .

LOLdplay: I Can Haz Cake?
Bwahahahahahaha....:D. I have been going back and looking at this thread throughout the evening. Oh, god. My cheeks hurt. And some of these pictures and comments are making me all :stunned:. No wonder we're so pervy sometimes, look at the stuff the guys give us to work with!

He is! "Come forward and let the whole class see you" :laugh3:. He sounded like a teacher about ready to scold someone there! "Violet Hill" from this thing was posted in another thread-did he do more songs at this event? 'Cause it looks really entertaining based on the two clips I've seen so far. I like watching him interact with the crowd like this. Lovely performance, too. And I agree, I like it when they go acoustic-have they ever done an "Unplugged" type show? If not, they should, 'cause some of these songs particularly shine in an acoustic setting. Catch you later! Hope you have a good day at work.

Coldplay - Cake Club Video Of The Week
I totally understand what you're saying . I'm like that, too, I have to like the people as well as the music. Or movies. Or TV shows. Or whatever. And Coldplay makes total sense within my general musical tastes, they fit like a glove, but yeah, even if I listened to a whole other genre of music, I wouldn't dismiss something simply because it's not the type of stuff I typically listen to. I think it's cool when people are willing to expand their interests and give something a shot. And I think everyone else's assessment of the attitude surrounding them is spot on, too. You know what else I found incredibly heartwarming during the show? How obvious their friendship was. When they were all giving that group hug before some show they were performing at, and all the kind words they said about each other, and all the reminiscing they were doing about their early days (that bit where they went back to the old apartment they all hung out and rehearsed at-I LOVED that part), I was just sitting there thinking, "This is so adorable and sweet." I really hate to bring up a U2 comparison, because lord knows these guys have had more than enough of those throughout their career, but actually, this is a good one-their friendship reminds me of that of the guys in U2. Knew each other for a few years before recording together, kept their friendship intact through all the good and bad times, very democratic in how they handle their business affairs and such. I really respect that in U2, and I'm thrilled to see Coldplay's following the same mindset. It also cracked me up to hear that Will is usually the one who's first to veto an idea, because, again, that's how it is in U2-their drummer, Larry, is like that as well . Must be a drummer thing. It's scary how well I can relate to Chris on the whole modesty/own worst critic thing. Really. I know how he feels. I also like, too, how, when Chris does say something that can be seen as arrogant or cocky or whatever, he's fully aware of it. I honestly think a lot of peple misunderstand the way he talks sometimes (and in print sometimes jokes or comments come across wrong), he's got a very odd sense of humor and what can come off as self-important really isn't when you see/hear it in context. Besides, what would be the point of doing what they do if they don't believe in themselves at least a little bit? I would hope they think they're something special, or could be something special, otherwise there'd be no reason for them to have the drive and passion to do what they do. That does have to be one hell of a whiplash moment, doesn't it? I find it strange they won every award in the U.S. at the Grammys but didn't win squat back home at the Brits. Go figure. That was so cute. I'd be studying up like crazy, too, one misused word and all hell can break loose. I've heard stories. So I appreciate that they take the time to do that. Touring has got to be the weirdest thing for any human being to do. Keeping a bunch of words and phrases in your head for each country you visit, going to a bunch of places, sometimes within one day, barely getting any sleep, talking to every interview outlet imaginable and answering essentially the same 10 questions over and over and over...I honestly don't know how bands manage to survive it all. It's no wonder some implode from the pressure and stress of it all. But man, hearing the crowds cheer and sing along...that has to be something special. That was so incredibly awesome. I commend the band for just keeping on with the song, and I was stunned that the audience kept singing along while all the chaos went on around them. I don't know what got into Chris that day, but I love totally random moments like that. Hehehehe. So, so, SO incredibly cute. He had a look on his face like, "Wait, wait, I'll get it, it's on the tip of my tongue, I swear..."

What are you listening to?
Some rendition of "Yesterday" from some TV show. I don't know who's singing it.

LOLdplay: I Can Haz Cake?
That's how it always happens :p. Heh. I don't doubt it. Maybe they could ask Chris and Jonny how to deal with such situations ;). ...or, then again, maybe not.

LOLdplay: I Can Haz Cake?
Figured :D. Ah, well, that's good :). That "accidental" kiss story sounds funny! Cool. Thanks. I'll remember that.

LOLdplay: I Can Haz Cake?
Aw, coldplayer, that really sucks that they invaded your privacy like that :(. That's not cool. Well, I like it, supposed fails and all. But I fully understand why you feel the way you do . So, question...is "cake" occasionally a euphemism for...something else? LOL *Claps*!

LOLdplay: I Can Haz Cake?
If there are I'm failing to notice them :). Your avatar! It's so cute!

LOLdplay: I Can Haz Cake?
How exactly did it even start, anyway? I just joined within the last couple months, so I'm not even sure where this originated. By the way, paging back through this thread... Okay. WHERE did that quote come from? See, with comments like this, is it any wonder I get so freaking pervy in the Chris thread :p?
-
LOLdplay: I Can Haz Cake?
You're welcome :). That's okay! It's still awesome (man, even in cartoon form he's attractive ). You're quite talented. I heard that "Sexy and I Know It" song in a commercial earlier. It made me smile.

LOLdplay: I Can Haz Cake?
*Snorts, laughs her head off* That is awesome. I liked your cake conversation with the last picture you captioned, too. I am never going to be able to look at a cake the same way again thanks to this board! I'll be sitting there giggling to myself and everyone around me will look on, totally confused :p. And if I explain it, they'll...still be confused. You know, I've been meaning to say that for a while. He does have a nice backside. BRILLIANT! I love this! I love the one of Jonny looking all sad about the lack of cake, too  :jonny:. I've got to start looking at this thread more often, this is hysterical.

Good night to those who are going to bed. May you have sweet and lovely Chris/Coldplay dreams! Mara, I'm so glad you're having (had) a wonderful birthday. It's great to have you here, I've really enjoyed getting to know you on these boards . I had a feeling it was you! I just wanted to be sure so I wasn't pestering some poor random person :p. Thanks, I'll send you a PM soon here and let you know :). Hehe, ah, yeah, I'm just teasing :D. *Pats head* Good girl. I liked that "Chinese Sleep Chant" video, very cool. On that note, does anyone happen to have a good quality version of the band performing "Yes"? I've always been curious to hear what that song sounded like live. *Dies laughing at that bit from the 2005 Mercury Prize thing* Oh, my GOD. Coldplay doing the American southern accent and dressed up like rednecks? That's hilarious and frightening on all sorts of levels. And that acoustic version of "The Scientist" from a few pages back? *Swoons, melts* That was gorgeous. Ummmmm. Yeah. Wow. Hi. So much prettiness. So much hotness. Liked the video clip you shared, very cool version of that song-I'm fine with that idea for the next video, whatever anyone wants to pick for viewing is fine with me :). Now if you'll excuse me I need to go be alone for a few minutes with these lovely images of Chris :shifty:.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I always thought "Strawberry Swing" sounded rather Beatles-y myself. "X&Y", too, especially towards the end, with all the strings and such. Neat video of that song, it sounded great. I don't know if Chris was tired so much as he was just kinda out of breath-he does tend to overexert himself on stage a lot :). But beautiful performance anyway-I love "Strawberry Swing". It's one of those "put a smile on my face and a spring in my step" songs. (And man, did Chris look good in that video... Sorry, but it had to be said.) TecHniCoLoR_MX, that song sounds lovely! I like the use of the color red throughout-red's my favorite color . And I like the way you used that old "Red sky at night..." saying. I'm crap with guitar and chord stuff, though, so I can't be much help there, either. Heh. But yeah. Nice song. Hahaha. *Rubs hands together, face contorts into a mask of maniacal glee, lightning flashes through the sky, thunder claps...* I've still yet to see the "Charlie Brown" video on TV! I was watching VH1 this morning to see if I could catch it, and with every video that came on, I was like, "Is this Coldplay? No. I want to hear/see Coldplay!" They did play Muse, though, so yay for that, at least. That was freaking adorable. And hot. I like the "wooo"-ing he did in the middle of the song :D. And the story beforehand was cute, too. God, he's such a dork .

U2
I love that song. Easily one of their best from the last decade, heck, in general. I like "Miami". Weird, weird little song, but dammit, I like it .

Coldplay @ BRIT Awards 2012 (Tues 21st Feb, O2 Arena, London) // Charlie Brown performance, MX album
Cool, another thing to keep note of, then. :laugh3: Oh, dear. All this talk and rumor has me so very intrigued right now. We only have...*Looks at computer clock*...a little over 24 hours to wait, then all will be revealed.

Great minds :D. Woo for holidays! I've got a stretch free from work here (no special reason, just wasn't scheduled), so let's hear it for kicking back, chilling, sleeping in, and spending the day looking at anything Coldplay . Perfect timing for you to watch the concert. Happy birthday, too!

Coldplay - Cake Club Video Of The Week
Exactly. I have my little group of celebrities I love, and then most of them are just there and I don't have an opinion really one way or another. The only way I could ever truly dislike, or hate, someone, famous or not, is if they're rude, and cruel, and treat people horribly. I mean, sure, Coldplay aren't saints, they have their pissy days like everyone else, I've no doubt about that. But they're not mean people. They're good at heart and seem like really sweet guys-Chris' story in the video about how seriously guilty he felt about kicking Will out of the group early on was so touching and made me go, "Awwwwwwwwwwwwww...". How many people would freely open up about stuff like that? So unless they, I dunno, kicked a puppy down the stairs or beat up some poor old lady or murdered someone or whatever, I fail to see what would make them worth hating. I think Row was on to something about their general "niceness"-we always expect our musicians to be too cool for school and jaded and into the "sex, drugs, and rock and roll" lifestyle. It's not "cool" to wear your heart on your sleeve, as they say, and to be open and emotional and care about things and sing pretty songs. It makes you look "wimpy". But while I certainly do like some artists who fit into that category, and agree that some of the craziness has led to good stories and entertaining music, at the same time, doesn't that attitude and same old "party, sleep with girls, go to rehab, etc." story get a little old after a while? It tends to destroy a lot of great bands, too, often times. And I kinda like that Coldplay's avoided that stuff. I like that Chris is happily married-I'm jealous, but I like that :p. I like that they're not "love 'em and leave 'em" guys. Or strung out on drugs. Or whatever. And if that makes them "wimpy" or "uncool", well, so be it. It'll work to their advantage in the long run, anyway. Hehe. I've noticed a lot of people have said that to him. I think that's just charming.
-
You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
I like it, too :). I think everyone should learn how to sound like Chris when they swear. Then we'll never have to worry about anyone being offended by swear words again! Seriously, he can make ANYTHING sound sweet and polite.

What is your Top Song from each Album?
Parachutes: It's always a toss-up between "Spies" and "Trouble". I love how eerie "Spies" is, and "Trouble" is truly one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard, as well as one of the first Coldplay songs I ever heard, so it's special for that reason. A Rush Of Blood To The Head: "The Scientist". Always has been, always will be. I just love that song. X&Y: "Fix You". I've gone in detail a few times here before about why that song ranks so highly with me, so I'll spare everyone that. But even without the back story, this has always been one of my top 5 songs by these guys. Viva La Vida: "Yes". Sexiest. Coldplay. Song. EVER. Mylo Xyloto: "Paradise". It's the one that caught my attention when I first started hearing about their new album, and I fell in love with it right away. I know, I know, it's gotten played a lot, but meh. I still love it.

Top 5 Favourite Music videos
Love "Thriller" and "Sledgehammer". Classics from my childhood. Agreed on "Come To Daddy" and "Rabbit In Your Headlights" as well-those both used to freak me out when I was younger. Man. Super tough choice here. I'll just pick 5 videos I love, 'cause it's hard for me to actually make a top 5: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijZRCIrTgQc&ob=av2e]R.E.M. - Everybody Hurts (Video) - YouTube[/ame] Never fails to make me cry. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_sBOsh-vyI&ob=av2n]Muse - Knights Of Cydonia (Video) - YouTube[/ame] 'Cause, yeah, seriously, what the...? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WybiA263bw&ob=av2e]U2 - Sweetest Thing - YouTube[/ame] Really cute and funny. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBH97ma9YiI&ob=av2e]Radiohead - Karma Police - YouTube[/ame] Speaking earlier of videos that freaked me out... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oqXVx3sBOk&ob=av2e]Blur - Coffee And TV - YouTube[/ame] Who doesn't enjoy a star-crossed love story about milk cartons :D? I'd also suggest checking out Neil Finn's "She Will Have Her Way", Fatboy Slim's "Weapon Of Choice", and pretty much any Talking Heads video. And then of course, my favorite Coldplay video-"The Scientist" :).
