He's a twat for saying that. Particularly this part: "Why should you have to do something substandard just for the sake of being real? If it sounds better with the vocal you recorded, why shouldn't people listen to that?" BUT I do like Simon Cowell. He's not afraid to tell people straight that they're rubbish.

Noel also said that 'Heathen Chemistry' would sound more like 'Definitely Maybe' only one song did. and that was 'Hung In A Bad Place'. and that was written by Gem. the rest of it sounded like Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants, which is their worst album. don't get me wrong, I still really like Oasis. the music's still pretty good, and they can put out the odd classic now and again (Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Go Let It Out, Songbird). But they'll never be as good as they were between 1994 and 1998, and the last really good show they played was Finsbury Park - every one since has been predictable, dull and lifeless.
