  1. Yes, I've unintentionally done that a few times. Have you ever won an award for something you accomplished?
  2. If sweet death should ever conquer me Let me know boys, let me know
  3. Hmm... I'm not sure how I feel about that. I like his furniture and restaurant analogies, but I also want Coldplay to make music for the sake of making music, rather than just as a product for a consumer.
  4. I watch far less television now that I did a few years ago. I think books, YouTube, streaming services, and DVDs, including Coldplay stuff of course, have mostly replaced TV for me. Honestly, I would rather watch a Coldplay video more than many of the popular TV series like Game of Thrones. :P Please don't hate me, Game of Thrones fans. :wink2:
  5. I just finished listening to Ghost Stories in full for the first time in a while, and I don't know why, but it just "clicked" for me more than it did in the past. I still find the lyrics a bit cheesy, and I am a bit annoyed by the lack of Will's real drums, but as the above poster stated, the atmosphere, emotion, and soundscapes are beautiful. Even True Love and Another's Arms don't sound all that bad, especially when Jonny's guitar solos come in later on. A Sky Full of Stars is still EDM-overload for me. The pieces of a great song are there, though; if it had the more rocking sound of the live versions that the band has been playing on the AHFOD tour, it would be much-improved.
  6. Sadly, yes. :sad2: Have you ever become friends with somebody you once disliked?
  7. The streets your walking on A thousand houses long
  8. Easy To Please is very ambient.
  9. I tried several years ago, but gave up. I just didn't enjoy it as much as my mother does. Have you ever listened to a song in a language you do not understand?
  10. Loving Coldplay is: Getting lost in beautiful melodies. Seeing each coming day as a gift. Thousands of voices in a sea of Xylobands singing as one. Hoping for the future. Having a soundtrack for every moment of your life.
  11. I hardly filmed anything, and nothing with good enough quality to warrant posting on YouTube, but I just had to see if somebody had filmed this performance from my lone concert. It's not the Sound Relief performance, but I personally still think it's incredible.
  12. The Escapist and Aiko come to mind for me.
  13. Now that AHFOD has been out for 7 months, it's time for an update to my original rankings, including my current favorite song from each album: 1. X&Y (White Shadows) 2. Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends (Strawberry Swing) 3. A Rush of Blood to the Head (title track) 4. Parachutes (Everything's Not Lost) 5. A Head Full of Dreams (Up&Up) 6. Ghost Stories (Midnight) 7. Mylo Xyloto (Us Against The World)
  14. The dancing scenes come from a 1990 clip from a television show called Attitudes. Through the wonders of digital editing, it was made to look like Coldplay were part of the same performance. As for the message behind the video... I'm not quite sure. :whaaat:
  15. I love it when you come over to my house
  16. Coldplay Foo Fighters U2 Radiohead Muse
  17. Welcome to Coldplaying!
  18. I drew a line, I drew a line for you
  19. (Death and All His Friends) I don't want a cycle of recycled revenge vs (Army of One) And there isn’t a fire that I wouldn’t walk through, my army of one is gonna fight for you
  20. X Marks The Spot. What a terrible song. Sure, props to the band for trying to experiment, yadda yadda yadda. But I'm getting the feeling that they're missing the mark. Lets see... X Marks The Spot kills the flow of the album, makes little thematic sense in relation to the rest of the album, has lyrics that a 4 year old could've written, and has the most "generic" pop sound of any Coldplay song. The last time I actually listened to that detestable song was back in December. I fiddled with iTunes so that once Army of One ends, it skips directly to Amazing Day. I think Up In Flames is pretty bad, too. The lyrics are nothing special. I don't like the production. Up In Flames is the one Coldplay song where I can't stand Will's contribution; the broken clock/drum pad is annoying and unnecessary. Everglow is another take on the sound that they were trying to achieve, and in my opinion it is a huge improvement.
  21. Well, remember that a few of the songs on the list were also played without being requested. For example, Speed of Sound was first included as a surprise addition in Lima, then for some reason it was the request of choice at the next show in São Paulo. Also, See You Soon was played twice before it was requested in Barcelona. So, the stats aren't all that skewed. Interesting list, though!
  22. Give me one, 'cause one is best
