Congratulations! :D

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
By the way, at least on the desktop version of the site, this thread has now reached 1000 pages!!!

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Maybe the "get, get it together" chorus in Up&Up was directed specifically to us. :D :wink2:

Army of One
That's right! It is the one song other than the two interludes that we know nothing about. It hasn't been brought up in any interviews.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Up&Up needs to be the show closer on the AHFOD tour. I'm guessing X Marks The Spot will play as the band walks off stage, similar to The Escapist and O (Reprise).

Army of One
The title Army of One automatically makes me think of Viva. I'm predicting that this song will be the darker, more stripped down/acoustic moment on the album. I guess I just can't see this being very upbeat.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Here is my ranking so far: 1. Up&Up 2. Amazing Day 3. A Head Full of Dreams 4. Adventure of a Lifetime So far, I have instantly loved the first three songs on my list, and AOAL is growing on me to the point that I'm really starting to enjoy it. So far, I consider AHFOD to be as good as or better than MX, but I'm going to be cautious about everything I haven't heard yet because I have really low expectations for Hymn For the Weekend. That's probably going to be a weaker track in my opinion but I might be pleasantly surprised. They also played Til Kingdom Come more than a month before X&Y came out.

Up&Up
This is the kind of song I was afraid we wouldn't get on AHFOD. It is a beautiful, intricate combination of Oasis, Swallowed In The Sea, Everything's Not Lost, and the live version of Life Is For Living, with a little bit of Miracles sprinkled in. There's such a gorgeous melody and the simple sing-along chorus is so tender and emotional. Jonny sounds amazing, he plays Noel's solo so well that I can only imagine how good it is when the man himself plays it. I'm glad it's a longer song; there aren't enough Coldplay songs that stretch over 5 minutes. Overall, this may be one of the very best post-Viva tracks and my prediction that it will be a top 20 all-time Coldplay song for me might just come true. I will need a proper studio version in order to make that call, but for now I'm proud to say it's my favorite song from AHFOD that I've heard so far.

Amazing Day
Wow... this song just gets better every time they play it. Up&Up was my highlight of the Tidal gig but this was close. So much emotion, it's almost as passionate as The Scientist. I'm just loving Amazing Day more and more.

A Head Full Of Dreams (Title track)
Btw, this song is going to be a real tour highlight next year. That chorus is massive and the "whoa" and "oh" chanting is about as good as Viva La Vida. It may be kind of a cliche part of a Coldplay song, and a bit overused, but here it works well.

A Head Full Of Dreams (Title track)
My first impression/review: This is a really solid song! The U2 comparisons make sense; I hear a lot of their influence. I was expecting something a little heavier like Politik or DLIBYH but I was pleasantly surprised that it sounds more like Hurts Like Heaven (very uptempo with lots of guitar). The lyrics are pretty good and far better than most of GS. This is going to be a solid album opener and it's definitely one of the better post-Viva tracks. I can't wait to hear a studio version. The only thing I would change about this track is I would make it a bit longer.

[2015-11-21] TIDALXCOLDPLAY Presented by KROQ (Tonight 20:30 LA, 04:30 UK)
I say we'll get AOAL, Amazing Day, AHFOD, and Everglow tonight. That's only if the band hasn't changed their mind about playing 4 new songs and 8 old songs. Who knows, maybe they'll slip in Up&Up. ;)

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
The response to AOAL and Amazing Day has been fairly similar to that. Neither song is generally well-liked, at least by fans who have been around a long time and who regularly post on this forum. I'm expecting some backlash when we first hear Hymn For The Weekend as well. I do think AHFOD will grow on people, but the response to it will be very divided at first. Edit: I'm not saying that the new songs are heavily disliked here, there are just not as many people who openly express their enjoyment of said songs.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
X&Y is an album that is definitely not perfect... yet it speaks to me more than any other. Maybe that's just sentimental value, but for me the really good songs lessen the effect of the slightly more bland/cheesy tracks. I seriously wonder if the stressful recording process is what scared them away from most of X&Y. They appear to have this idea in their heads that most of the album is simply not good enough. They allow their self-criticism to get the best of them and it's a real shame because they treat most of the album like it does not exist.

ELIMINATION #π: UNRELEASED SONGS
So Sad I guess I would have to hear the full song–which has never even been unofficially released and likely never will be–to truly appreciate it.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Well, even if it's not a reference to Low, it is yet another lyric referring to flying/floating up high.
-
LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I have always assumed the band doesn't like Low or they have forgotten it because they haven't played it in 10 years, but that lyrical reference in AHFOD is clever! :x&y:

Hymn for the Weekend
I have a feeling this is going to be the song Zane Lowe is supposed to debut next week. I'm a lot less excited to hear it now but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised or it will grow on me.

[2015-11-19] Chris Martin interview Rolling Stone
At least there is one thing we can all agree on now, as if it wasn't already implied beforehand... they aren't going anywhere after this era. Hopefully that will put this round of split rumors to rest.

ELIMINATION #6: GHOST STORIES
Ghost Story Fly On barely beats Ghost Story in my opinion.
