  1. Do you mean the piece that plays as the band walks onstage? I personally think they should use that Brian Eno track or whatever it is that they used on the AROBTTH tour. As cool as the Back To The Future theme and The Blue Danube were on the last few tours, I want something kind of ambient. Supposedly AHFOD resembles Politik in how it just "explodes" so I think a similar, calm ambient piece would work well immediately before it.
  2. Thanks for the encouragement! :) After the events of the past few days (worldwide, not just in my own life) Coldplay have a sort of emotionally healing effect, indeed. They allow me to just unwind, ponder the world, and get lost in a head full of dreams. ;)
  3. Now those sketches are amazing, wow! If only I had the slightest bit of artistic talent, my few sketches of the band might actually slightly resemble them. :p
  4. I've been away for a few days because a relative of mine has passed away and I've been busy out of town because of it. :sad2: It has been a bad couple of days for me so at least listening to some Coldplay on the long drive was able to help me through it... they first came into my life when I was a bit broken and their music has always helped me through tough times like these.
  5. I can't believe it had been 8 and 1/2 years since the last time they played Sparks. I think I prefer the new version with no drums and more piano, but this 2001 version is still solid. [video=youtube;8vi8GsW5m3o]
  6. I like that even with the more somber mood, Chris still found the opportunity to slip in a few jokes.... like after someone started yelling out "No phones!!!" :D I respectfully disagree with his Justin Bieber admiration but he still managed to make it funny. I'm so glad I was able to catch the stream, I really needed that.
  7. Atlas I really wanted Ghost Story to win from the start but now I think I want Fly On to go all the way. While listening to tonight's show I was reminded of just how beautiful it is...
  8. To all who were able to go to tonight's show, you still got the treat of a lifetime even with a short stripped-down set.
  9. I was left speechless after watching the full replay of the show. Imagine was easily the best cover I've ever heard from Coldplay, simply incredible and never more fitting than now. Sparks gave me chills, even more so than the studio version. I always liked it before, but now I have a new appreciation for it. Yellow gave me tears and I enjoyed it more than I have in a long time. Til Kingdom Come gave me chills like Sparks did, especially in the bridge where it's just Chris and Will singing. Us Against The World sounded better to me than normal, apart from Chris forgetting the lyrics at the beginning. :p The Birds snippet should've been a part of UATW from the beginning, those few lines are sweet yet so meaningful. Fix You was of course more mellow yet just as emotional. Fly On made me cry as it often does. You know, I forgive Chris for all his Bieber Fever antics :D simply because the whole band stepped it up tonight. After the AHFOD era, I now want them to come back and do an all-acoustic world tour in these little venues. Their acoustic performances are very underrated and this show had some of the best.

Welcome to Coldplaying. I hope you enjoy your time here. :)
  11. U2 - Please (Live From Rotterdam, Netherlands) This song was originally written about the Troubles in Ireland but sadly it's relevant now.
  12. What a nice little setlist... it must have been hard to re-learn UATW and Fly On so quickly but those five songs are perfect for now.
  13. To be honest, as the past several hours have continued to sink in, I'm no longer in the mood to watch the stream anyway. I'm baffled that the show is going on even as an acoustic gig. I hope they don't feel like they have to perform something.
  14. Smoke is rising from the houses People burying their dead I asked somebody what the time is But time doesn't matter to them yet People talking without speaking Trying to take what they can get I ask you if you remember Prospekt, how could I forget? There is good in the world but it is robbed and torn apart so often that it becomes a blur. It's so hard to focus on it. It becomes a distant memory rather than a reality in the present. Every time something like this happens, that becomes more and more true.

  16. I remember at the SXSW festival in March of last year, Chris dedicated Fix You to the people on board Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 after it disappeared. I'm sure he'll do the same sort of thing tonight. I wonder what song they are going to open with. Maybe A Head Full of Dreams or ETIAW?
  17. Whatever decision they do make should be respected. They love Paris so much and they've always enjoyed playing there. Maybe if the show does go on, they'll play the happy songs as a way to defy the darkness and horror of today...
  18. Amen! My thoughts are with everyone in France, especially our fellow Coldplayers there... #PeaceForFrance
  19. I'm not sure I could get all of them (and I'm about to head off to bed) so I don't think I can, but whoever does needs to remember that The World Turned Upside Down and The World Turns Upside Down are two different songs. ;) Also, Gone But Not F. Cotton needs to be included! Edit: I'm really confused now. I thought the TWTUD played in 2003 didn't have the same exact title as the separate song released as a b-side, but according to setlist.fm they have the same title. It is so confusing!!!
  20. Another bird metaphor? Last year, I noticed Chris would often do that wing spreading gesture while singing True Love.
  21. As long as the studio version is true to the most recent live version, I think I'll be satisfied. Amazing Day and Everglow are the two ballads on the album so I'm glad the whole tracklisting isn't just a bunch of upbeat songs with no "slow down and relax" moments.
  22. I wasn't expecting another Strawberry Swing-quality video so I'm not too disappointed. This is only a little clip, for all we know there might be an actual storyline rather than just random shots of the band in ape suits. The only reason I like the elephant suits in the Paradise video is because the runaway elephant storyline actually makes sense in the context of the song.
