A Head Full Of Dreams (Title track)
Thank you!!! :awesome:  It seems like we have the new DLIBYH or Hurts Like Heaven here... but this time it's not EDM like ASFOS is! It makes sense if AHFOD is an explosion of happiness and color... that's going to fit the music video perfectly! Now I actually want to hear the song before its release, because I won't be able to contain myself when I stumble upon a recording.

ELIMINATION #6: GHOST STORIES
Always In My Head It's not as haunting and stripped down as Oceans. I'd rather see Oceans move on because it's a reminder that Coldplay can still write a Parachutes kind of song. I've always thought of it as a combination of Spies, Sparks, and Atlas. It has cryptic, longing lyrics that carry a lot more emotional toil and meaning than the lyrics of Always In My Head.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
If Kaleidoscope is 1 minute 31 seconds long, that's twice as long as the MX interludes. Hopefully that means it is something a little more "dynamic and interesting," as you stated. A spoken word interlude is certainly not something they've done before, so we'll see what happens. You're right on #1. Oceans has a good interlude because it carries on for more than a few moments and blends two tracks together seamlessly. Violet Hill is good with that too; it has an M.M.I.X.-esque intro that has no place as its own separate track. Concerning #3, that's why Aiko should have been on MX. It's ambient, atmospheric, and could stand on its own rather than as a short little clip. I want an interlude to either have enough substance to deserve its own track or be tagged onto a corresponding full-length song.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I'm pretty sure Chris said that they will play 4 new songs and 8 "old" songs. So, I'd expect the 4 tracks you named as well as basically all the major hits from Yellow to ASFOS.

***HIGH UP ABOVE OR DOWN BELOW - A Coldplay Project By I Ran Away***
I think I might have an idea of what it is but I'll wait for more hints before I say anything. ;) What if I turn out to be correct and end up spoiling the surprise?

***HIGH UP ABOVE OR DOWN BELOW - A Coldplay Project By I Ran Away***
Hmm, For You and then ETIAW... ok fellow Coldplayers, we should have plenty of experience with pre-release teasing by now so we should have enough skill to try to decode this. :D Just kidding, I enjoy all the mystery. :) I can't wait...

Coldplay & U2
That's a great theory. :) U2 are probably my 2nd favorite band so I've also noticed similarities in their respective career paths. However, to me Coldplay's Joshua Tree was always AROBTTH, and their Achtung Baby was Viva La Vida. It was a major era for them and it was the one that put them on top of the world of music at the time. Both Coldplay and U2 had a less critically acclaimed album immediately after (X&Y and Rattle and Hum). Just like X&Y is heavily modeled off of its predecessor, Rattle and Hum was a further exploration of the American themes present in The Joshua Tree. After both albums, the two bands made a drastic change in sound and began experimenting far more than they ever had before. I remember a quote from Coldplay in the Viva La Vida era where they said that they were trying not to sound much like the Coldplay everyone knew before. It reminded me a lot of how U2 described Achtung Baby: the sound of four men chopping down The Joshua Tree. Viva started Coldplay's departure from alternative rock. Likewise, Achtung Baby started U2's adventure in the 1990's. Coldplay's Zooropa was Mylo Xyloto because it was an even further departure, and it could be argued that Ghost Stories was their Original Soundtracks Volume 1 (U2's mid-90's side project with Brian Eno, for readers who don't know what it is). I guess that would make AHFOD their Pop. Hopefully AHFOD will at least be better received than Pop ever was (I adore that album but at the time nobody really understood what U2 were trying to do). Perhaps if Coldplay go on an extended hiatus after AHFOD, they might return to their older style when they get back. Chris has said that everything he does is a "Bono move" so he might steer his own band in the same direction.

Hello everyone!
Welcome to Coldplaying! Trust me, you'll be glad you discovered and joined this nice community, especially with AHFOD right around the corner! It makes everything a lot more fun when you get to share the experience with your fellow fans. :) Btw nice avatar; Keane are amazing. :)

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I kind of hope only a couple brand new AHFOD songs are played on Friday. I want to hear the majority of the album for the first time on the day it gets released. That being said, a few new tracks in the month prior are ok. Hopefully the studio versions aren't underwhelming in comparison.

Colour Spectrum
Me too. Even before the iHeartRadio Festival and the music video shoot, I imagined this era would have a lot of color.

These are amazing!!! :awesome: You should try making something for 42 or Chinese Sleep Chant... I'm envisioning something a bit dark and outlandish for both songs. :D

ELIMINATION #6: GHOST STORIES
Why was I thinking for a moment that All Your Friends already got eliminated? I'm changing my vote to All Your Friends. I agree, Magic isn't all that bad. The melody is good and the bridge is one of the better moments on the whole album for me. There's also a hint of the X&Y spacey sound.

Colour Spectrum
If it ends up becoming a single, the music video will just be Nyan Cat with the song playing in the background.

A Song-Title Game
Meh, Ellie Goulding has certainly done much better. She's one of very few current well-known pop artists that I even bother listening to so in my opinion she does something right, but... I still think On My Mind is utterly forgettable trash. Anyway: Pearl Jam - Mind Your Manners

Colour Spectrum
If you were to make all hidden tracks their own separate tracks, and take a look at each of the penultimate songs of Coldplay's career, you'd find Everything's Not Lost, AROBTTH, Twisted Logic, DAAHF, DLIBYH, and Fly On. That's a pretty amazing set of songs in my opinion (except for DLIBYH...) so I hope Colour Spectrum will be solid. It has a lot to live up to. Edit: I guess there's the possibility that X Marks The Spot is after Colour Spectrum or Up&Up so this entire post might end up being irrelevant.

Up&Up
After reading Chris' description of the song, I honestly have a feeling that it's going to be an all-time top 20 or so Coldplay track for me. This is the band of the X&Y era, not afraid to show some appreciation for a hero. It's weird thinking that just a few weeks ago we never would have guessed that the Coldplay from Viva to the present would even try to collaborate with Noel Gallagher.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I just realized that the Oracle is not on the newly redesigned coldplay.com site. :( It always seemed like a popular feature, it's a shame they got rid of it. At least the Oracle will live on through Twitter.
