Anyone heard about them? i think you should take a "look" to their songs. Some are really remarkable.. it sounds like something between enya and sigur ros and has electronical influences.. well here's the link:D http://www.sleepthiefmusic.com/

Does anybody watch it? It's far better than TOTP was before it got the chop. It shows lots of performances from yesteryear together with some interesting on-screen info, plus all those annoying presenters are nowhere to be seen!! There are also a couple of specially-recorded "new" performances every week. It deserves a big "thumbs-up"!!

I'm not going to go through and review each song track by track but rather review the concept of this album. U218 Singles is a greatest hits collection of 16 of thier most popular songs along with two new songs. But this album has no appeal whatsoever to the hardcore U2 fans. Most of us already own all the songs already multiple times between singles, albums, and their two greatest hits albums. The two tracks are a little bit enticing but not overly. Their is a deluxe edition featuring a DVD with 10 live tracks from Milan. (Only ten songs!) and a 50 page book. In my opinion this is just a big cash grab coming conviniently right around the busy Christmas season. On a posit…

Actually I made it ages ago, lol, but I've only just added it to my Myspace page now for the 'festive' season! So go there and check it out! By the usually insanely bad standards of Christmas songs it's pretty good! :P First song on my Myspace, link below

In many ways, the British Invasion is ancient history. There's no doubt The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who and others changed the face of not just music but society itself. But that was more than 40 years ago, a time long past, right? Wrong. Two of the biggest concerts of last year? The Stones and Paul McCartney. Kinks leader Ray Davies put out a stunning new album this year and performed a stirring concert at the Paramount Theatre. Besides, if the Kinks hadn't happened, where would Gorillaz have gotten the sound for the hit single Feel Good Inc.? The biggest acts today - U2, Neil Young, Green Day, Dave Matthews, Radiohead - all are musically shaped by the Briti…

It's the new band featuring Richard Patrick (The T-1000's bro, and singer of Filter) and The DeLeo bros. of Stone Temple Pilots. Apparently their cd is actually surprisingly good. I so did not see it coming, but after hearing some tracks, I have high hopes for it.

Jackson freak show jets into London Last updated at 13:16pm on 13th November 2006 Wacko: Onlookers claimed that one of the children looked 'petrified' Michael Jackson, the singersongwriter turned freak show, arrived in London last night ahead of his first public performance in the UK in nine years. Jackson has rarely appeared in public since being acquitted of child molestation charges in the US last year, reportedly dividing his time between Ireland and Bahrain. But last night he took a private jet from Ireland to London, taking up residence in the Hempel Hotel, one of the capital's most fashionable places to stay. Wearing dark glas…

Yes there is more than just the music itself...... A meaning behind it (political etc....), an influence on different cultures....(btw this is the thing I want to study at university "musicology")...... So what music literature can you recommend? What is it about? Maybe a biography? Comments by musicologists? By the artists themselves? etc..... What did you read so far? I read some books about 50 years in german pop-history.....there was this huge documentary about it called "pop 2000" some years ago....quite interesting..... Anything similar? Whatever it is feel free to recommend something......if it's possible not only a list of names.....maybe …

Irish boyband Westlife have topped the UK singles chart for the 14th time in their career with The Rose. They are joined at the top by fellow Irishmen U2, whose collaboration with punk act Green Day - The Saints Are Coming - rises from six to two. All Saints climb from 11 to three with their comeback single Rock Steady, and Madonna's Jump enters at number nine. On the album charts, British funk act Jamiroquai debut at the top with their greatest hits collection, High Times. Entering at number two is the latest band put together by X-Factor and Pop Idol judge Simon Cowell, Angelis. The group features six children between the age of 11 and 14 drawn from ch…

Summer of love recalled during High Court music battle Last updated at 14:14pm on 13th November 2006 It was the massive hit of the summer of love back in 1967 - but today it became the centre of a bitter High Court battle over copyright. As the haunting strains of A Whiter Shade Of Pale filled the courtroom, Mr Justice Blackburne - who studied both music and law at Cambridge - followed the tune on a transcribed music score. It will be his task to decide whether Matthew Fisher, original organist with the band Procol Harum, made such a contribution to the success of the song that he is entitled to half the copyright and earnings. Fisher sat at the front of t…

  18. Classical music is a turn-on for more of us than ever before, whatever the doom-mongers might claim, says the composer Howard Goodall The weight of history hangs heavily upon classical music’s shoulders. In the carefree, people-friendly world of popular music, Sandi Thom can sing “Oh, I wish I was a punk rocker (with flowers in my hair)”, not batting an eyelid at the absurdity or the historical inaccuracy of the statement. It mars nobody’s enjoyment of the catchy hit. But no such easy forgiveness is available in the classical world, where opus numbers, arcane Italian terms, obscure jargon and — let’s face it — pedantry can interfere with one’s enjoyment of the actua…

Local Limelight: Ree Boado is our hero Beautiful pop singers tend to get by on looks instead of talent. Ree Boado, front woman of local band Lesser Heroes, has both. Boado is definitely a girl on stage. Her short, choppy bleach-blond hair, dark eye makeup and cute clothes compliment her genuinely fun and outgoing personality. But you should hear her sing. Her feminine voice brings a supple twist to the band's sometimes hard, driving guitar, bass and drums. But even so, Boado's vocals are just as edgy as her personality and presentation - a trait apparent in the band's debut EP, Falling Further Underground. Lesser Heroes includes guitarist Carlos Lugo, dru…
