I really should have a whole bunch of cavities because when I had braces I never cleaned them out properly and the dentist said if I didn't then I would definitely get cavities, but I don't have a single one. :P

i'm not sure what you people call 'em but i had rubber bands and metallic taps like a couple of years ago or somthn. didn't like 'em.

Braces are just to straighten your teeth, retainers generally work on the structure of your jaw as well, I think... at least that's what mine did. They don't actually attach to your teeth, it's a one-piece thing that you can take out. I had to wear mine all the time when I first started out and then just when I slept.
