i am sick to death of crappy punk bands who cannot play the guitar thinking they are kewl. They are everywhere. for instance avril lavine, she cant sing. mayby it is just my circumstances. what are you as big coldplay fans on this one?

i thoght the first 2 avril songs were catchy, now i just hate them! and i'm with you...dont EVEN get me started on that one!!! *feels like ripping on that hair on avril's head that strangely never seem to annoy her*

anyway, as far as punk is concerned there are many different things that can be considered punk. but i'm not really a fan of any of them. except the early 80's punk stuff. sex pistols, the clash, even to an extent the police.

so wud u all agree that they are boy bands with guitars!! thank you for supportin me on this one, every 1 in Reading where i live loves bands like busted and sum 41. glad to see there are normalk people in the world!!!!

If I had a daughter, I would rather she worship Avril Lavigne than some of her more tarty contemporaries. That said, I nearly had an anneurism when I read the words "PIXIES RULE" scribbled on the bass drum. It should go without saying that the bands that pass for punk on MTV are little more than a commercial conquest of what used to be a subversive genre/subculture. You can't beat the real thing...

My favorite off of Surfer Rosa has to be Vamos! It's so crazy! I love it, it's like I got tarantulism and I'm being torn apart by rabid Spaniards. lol (I love the Spaniards, btw.) :-D

I think you'll find a lot of friends here who'll agree with you esp. 'bout AVRIL ...don't get them bitchin' about her again!

I just wanna say...being a punk myself in the 70's...that punk serveda purpose and was a reaction to all the prog rock and hippy-shit that had dominated the music scene for too long!

Listen to some proper old stuff..not just the Pistols but The Clash, Undertones, U.K Subs, Siouxsie and the Banshee's, The Ramones, Xray-specs, Crass...to name but a few...oh and The Damned...FAB!
