Coldplay is a light version and more predictable version of Radiohead. Is Radiohead better?..That's a personal preference I suppose but its safe to say that Radiohead is more diverse and better musicians. Both great bands...Play them both.

Hey, let's see if we can start any more topics that EVERYBODY IS COMPLETELY SICK OF HEARING ABOUT.

 

Seriously, I got bored with comparing bands to Radiohead about three years ago. Every one of these threads can be summed up thusly:

 

Coldplay/Travis/Keane/Starsailor/any other current pop band you want to throw in there wears their influence on their sleeves, but they're not Radiohead, and they're not trying to be. :P

Except Muse. They do want to be Radiohead. :P

that was a good summary other than the fact that none of them are that poppy...i know its usually like reffered to as bubblegum pop, but when i think of pop i think of people who dont play instruments. And are all fruitcakes. :rolleyes:

chris martin and thom yorke are equals as far as musical talent goes. technically, thom yorke and chris martin are not great musicians. they both have a different kind of vocal technique that makes them noticable.

When I think of pop, I think of the Beatles, Elton John, the Beach Boys, etc. So that's why I call Coldplay pop. :P
