oh hai guys I came in here on the chance there would be a Harry Potter thread and there WAS. I'm so happy. I'm now going to spend all my days here.

A bit about me and Harry:

Started out with Sorcerer's Stone when it came out when I was 9. Read them throughout my years until it ended when I was 19. I'm quite obsessed with the books. I can't explain why. They're they only books I could ever truly love. So, I read them often. HBP is my favorite. I'm sure they're going to fuck up the movie though...

Really? I actually have faith in them this time, and I'm not even sure why. :P Maybe it's because of all the excellent looking previews, or the fact that they're actually not leaving some of the things out that I thought they might.

When you anticipate a movie for this long, it's hard not to be optimistic. But while I really like what I've read, seen and heard about HBP, I will inevitably be at least somewhat dissapointed by the movie. Come the release date, fans are always forced to face the reality that it will NEVER be quite the way you imagined/wanted it to be.

 

That said, it can still be a really good, if not great movie. It just comes down to how well and efficiently they illustrate the major parts of the book.

Order of the Phoenix, while a well made film, was a terribly disappointing adaptation, and it's the same writer and director this time around, too. From what I've read what's being included, it sounds unnecessary, and I've read some of my favorite parts from the books will be glossed over. Not only that, but they'll focus more on the stupid teenage romance stuff. It doesn't add to the story at all.

 

Also, from the previews I've seen, they have changed the characters a bit. Harry saying "But I am the chosen one" is completely UN-characteristic of him. He's usually so modest and humble. I think it's just a load of balls.

 

I'll love it blindly like I love all the HP movies, but I'll be pissed off at the mere thought of it forever.

Tom Felton has released a new guitar video on you-tube, this time featuring overdubbed guitar parts. Since he has also announced that he will soon release another E.P. onto Itunes, this could be taken as a preview...

It's in the 6th book, but the movie isn't out yet... it comes out in July!
