THE **I LOVE HARRY POTTER** THREAD

Okay Potheads, get ready to meet........Hermione's Mom!! (or mum)

The role of Hermione Granger's mom in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been filled by actress Michelle Fairley, Coleraine Times reports:

The Coleraine actress's agent was contacted by film representatives last week to arrange a new schedule of shooting for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Michelle had almost missed out on the part due to her involvement in Brian Friel's Olivier award-winning play Dancing at Lughnasa which opened at the Old Vic in London last Thursday.

However producers for the blockbuster have insisted that they want Michelle to play the part of Mrs Granger, a Muggle dentist and the mother of Hermione Granger, one of Harry's two best friends, played by Emma Watson.

Speaking of which, Emma has recently denied rumors that she has been accepted into, and plans to attend Yale for her college education. Rumors sparked when she allegedly announced it on a twitter account (which she doesn't have).

Anyway, I find it kind of cool that they'll be showing Hermione's parents in the movie. A sign that the two DH films will make for a more detailed story.

They'll actually be showing Hermione's parents? Awesome, I'm definitely excited to see that, but I wonder in what context they'll show them. I assume it's when Hermione says she's sent her parents to Australia and modified their memories, but I'm interested to see what they'll do in the movie that actually shows her parents.

I'm still kind of annoyed that they're making the deathly hallows into two movie.

I know it's essential because they've fucked up by missing out loads from the other books.

but releasing them 6 months apart will just annoy people when it's the same story.

how are they going to end the first part? does anybody know? I haven't been keeping up with the news since the last movie was released about ten years ago :P

We don't know yet, but people have been speculating... I'm guessing they'll end it sometime around when Ron leaves. Either that or at the Lovegood's house.

That's around what I was guessing. Nothing's been released saying when and where, but my guess is sometime right after Ron comes back and they get the first horcrux. On the other hand...I could see them holding off Ron's return until part two. But that would leave a lot of book left to go for the second half, not that WB has ever had reservations about rearranging the plot. :dozey:

Wow! Okay, I just now got a chance to see the new trailer in full, and the CGI is absolutely stunning. From the pensieve to the sea, to the especially amazing cave fight scene, the visuals are incredible! (I keep pausing along the way to take it all in)

While we've scene many of these shots before, even in HD there's a clear difference in the quality of the post-production. We also get a some great new shots, most of which take place in the cave. I have a feeling they might go a bit overboard(pun?) in that scene, and have Harry actually be pulled all the way underneath the water before Dumbledore rescues him. They definitely show him swimming around, with sparks of fire igniting underwater around the inferi.

They also have a great shot of Dumbledore finding the boat chain, and a glimpse of Harry warding off the inferi before Dumbledore comes about.

Here are the most intriguing screenshots, for me...

Epic. sure wet my appetite.

Watching sorceror's stone on tv, they're all so cute! :wacky:

And even though they were just kids and new to acting, even now I think it's better, or at least more enjoyable than much of OOTP. I sort of miss the John Williams soundtrack, Emma mouthing Dan's lines, and of course the cutest accents since "Charlie bit me!". :P

^ :shocked2:

Now for another edition of "Recent News"!

Yesterday, a fiurst edition copy of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" was sold at an auction in Dallas Texas for nearly 20k ($19,120).

But more excitingly, fans have just recently received there first glimpses at the filming of the "Deathly Hallows" movie. The following pictures are non professional camera stills from the "woods" scenes, in the middle of the book.

Well I pictured it like woods, and it looks like woods, so I guess they're doing a good job so far.

I thought the same, but I think it's just the oversized jacket and the poor camera that makes him look that way...
