April 26, 200521 yr Yes, saw the film a couple of years after I read the book. Found the film very difficult to follow as they had to cut large chunks out and I don't think the film really explained why they had to move. It is a very sad book.
April 26, 200521 yr Yup, I cannot stop compairing it with Les Misserables of Victor Hugo, obviously as a "friendly and easier" version of it. Yeah is terrible how actually they live, the father is the typical drunk bastard, the mother has to starve, all that through the eyes of a little boy. Anyway still have about 4 chapters to finish it, worse things can happen.

April 28, 200521 yr guess you won't be able to wait long to read 'tis ! :) I finished it, two days ago and I really don't know if I'll read the continuation Aha! yeah, I know the guy ended well with millionary sells around the world with Angela's Ashes. and yeah the book turned a bit kinky at the end :rolleyes:
