And yes, Emily Haines is awesome.

I really want to see them here in July. But I don't want to pay that much $$$ for a festival where they'll play 10 songs tops.

I'm really hoping they do a cross Canada tour in the fall.

Yeah, but there's lots of other bands playing too. (Including Hey Rosetta) I might go if there's still tickets by the time I have any money for one if only because I'm still so bitter over missing summersonic last year (which I take it isn't happening again?...)

Yeah, if I wasn't going to be at camp I would have had more of an incentive to go. I would love to see Hey Rosetta! again, Plants and Animals, and the Hip. I'm going to try to win tickets.

 

Regarding Summersonic, I'm not sure. You'd think they would have made an announcement by now if it were happening. Maybe all the other concerts in the city this year have pushed it aside?

i've said this before and i'll say it again I LOVE METRIC!! i've been watching their videos lately and how freken HOT IS emily haines. she better watch out when they tour down here in october. fan-boy-groupie-number -one right here. :D i'll just pretend she isnt double my age.

I saw Metric a few years back... They didn't do much for me. Broken Social Scene and Feist are far better.

the style that Metric plays compared to BSS is far different. There really is no comparison. BSS is very ambient and random at times, very alternative almost shoe-gazing music, however Metric is the best pop-rock or indie-pop band in Canada. Feist there is a little more comparison however her music is a little more folk compared to Metric

i love her EP more than the full length though...

and i love metric's first record , as with 2nd and 3rd, i think the latest one is a bit too rock-ish for me but still cool!

Cool, I've seen the EP at used shops but not sure if I should buy it or get the full length solo album first.

 

As to who I would take, Emily Haines or Feist I'm still not sure since I love both. I have only seen Feist though. She was an excellent performer.

Feist is good, and so is Emily

 

they each bring a different dynamic to each of their own performances.

I would choose them both, not either or! :smug:

i haven't fully listened to feist's latest album - i'll eventually get around to it.. i do like the collaboration she did with kings of convenience though, her voice is very nice

Check out the song You and I, its a Wilco song that she collaborated on for Wilco's latest album. Its really good. The Reminder is also a great album, highly recommended.
