it's been a while, but i have to say this before i forget...

 

has anyone seen his video for "waiting, sitting, etc...?"

it's a knock-off "the scientist" but with a cheesy feel to it.

I have seen it. It goes backwards, it doesn't remind me of the scientist video.

It's easy to listen to, which is just nice sometimes

I can't stand Jack. One of his friends, I can't remeber the name, sounds the exact same as him? How can they all sound the same? That takes talent.

i like him! but i can't listen to his songs for hours like i can with other artists because after some time it becomes boring however his songs put me in a really good mood and sometimes i'm really happy while i'm hearing them...

I loooooooooooooove Jack! There is NOTHING better in the whole world than lying on a hammock, in the backyard, sipping on Dell's Lemonaid and listening to 'Breakdown'.

Jack Johnson's "Curious George Soundtrack" has some good tunes as well. I keep playing track 13, "Supposed To Be". Even though it's kind of repetitive, it seems to end too early. I guess that is the trick, to leave us wanting more.

Hey I think it's time to revisit this thread! I LOVE Jack and he just released a new album yesterday, which I think is brilliant. I'd say it's more eccentric than his first album... there's also piano and drums and other things which are new. You can see how he has progressed (he is even singing about war and stuff :stunned:!)

Justin I reccommend that if you start you get In Between Dreams. But I don't know if you like that kind of music, it's very laid back acoustic guitar-ish.

Yeah, I've never really gotten into that chill out music style.

I guess for that type of stuff I listen to some Pink Floyd, Feist, or something else along those lines.

Jack is very chill. I like his early stuff better than his more recent releases, but maybe I'll take a listen to his new album when it comes out.

Yeah I really like his music, so nice to relax to. Gonna be buying this one. Single's good. He's sticking with a proven formula.

How did you like the last CD? I've listened to bits and pieces, but it didn't sound as laid back as his first 3 CDs (excluding Curious George). I have it, but I was wondering whether or not it is worth a listen.

Sleep Through the Static is a solid album. It's my least favourite Jack album though, I find it goes a little slow sometimes. Has different instrument combos from the other albums, this one tends to favour the piano and accordion and such. It really doesn't feel as upbeat and light as the other albums, not as much awesome acoustic guitar.

but it has some good tracks, like If I Had Eyes, What You Thought You Need, and Monsoon. a lot of people love Angel.

So there's my album review. It's kinda meh. but I reccommend En Concert more. nice selection of live songs.

In Between Dreams is by far Jack's best album. A solid 15 tracks with no weak spots.

I think you should give it a try bjaiken :) All At Once, Sleep Through The Static, What You Thought You Need and Go On are brilliant. He surprised me specially with these songs.
