Saw U2 3D a second time this past weekend.. OMG... I just can't get enough.. Plan on seeing it at least 2 more times with friends...

<<< i am truly a fanatic and have been for the last 20+ years.. :D

I haven't been alive for 20 years. But I have been a big fan for a bunch of years now.

how many times have you seen them live?

well.. that I would have to give some thought.. Seen them every tour since Joshua Tree.. Last tour, I went to 10 shows. The tour before that, 4 shows. Only saw them once during the pop mart tour (was pregnant with my son) and saw that show 3 months pregnant.. Plus the zootv tour and JT.. So, that totals 17 shows not that much considering being a fan since 1987. ;)

Still a few more than my one show :P

But as a college student living in a city that doesn't get that many big acts thats still big for me haha

i can kinda relate.. I lived in hawaii from 1998 to 2002 and not a single great or even good band showed up.. it killed me.. Of course, if I were there still in 2006 I would of been there for U2.. :smug:

^ yeah and pearl jam! that would be pretty sweet.

they put on such a great live show. I hope they do another amazing tour after their next album.

How many of you have actually met Bono??:P

I love this clip, basically the guy convinces his gf he knows Bono then she insists she meets him so he takes her to a country house to try and fool her. Classic bit of comedy below from one of the best tv shows ever!

Lucky you! They have such a good crew. Its neat how the same ol' Irish guys have been with the lads throughout their career.

yep!... Joe O'herily has been with them from the beginning, Dallas Schoo has been with them since'86 or '87. Of course, gavin has been there since they were kids. Not sure how long rocko has been with them tho... They are a big family or as Bono put it " a gang you can never leave"....:D

wow really, lucky you :)

I wish I could meet them but it's the craziest dream I have :D

U2 'ties the knot' with promoters Live Nation

'It's about time we tied the knot,' U2 frontman Bono said of the band's deal with Live Nation.

Increasingly prominent concert promoter and venue operator Live Nation has signed a 12-year deal with Irish rockers U2, the firm announced on Monday.

The new contract covers touring, merchandising, branding and the website for the award-winning rock band, which will continue to record and release albums with Universal Music Group.

Arthur Fogel and other Live Nation executives have long produced live events for the band.

"We've been dating for over 20 years now, it's about time we tied the knot," U2's lead singer Bono said in a statement.

The financial terms of the deal were not revealed.

Last year, Live Nation scored a major coup by signing a groundbreaking "360-degree deal" with pop icon Madonna, who decided to leave her longtime label Warner.

Live Nation's 10-year contract with Madonna covers a wide swath of her output: from her music recording and touring to her endeavours in film and television.

The company has made a name for itself by developing a large base of concertgoers through its production of prominent live events, ranging from concerts by the likes of Jay-Z and Coldplay to producing Super Bowl half-time shows to running tours of Broadway shows. It also owns and operates the House of Blues performance venues.

In recent years, Live Nation has aggressively expanded into merchandising, strengthening and taking advantage of its web presence to introduce more direct methods of building its artists' relationships with their fans.

:shocked2: 12 more years of touring? Will Live Nation also be covering Nursing Home costs?
