First listen? Probably either All That You Can't Leave Behind or The Joshua Tree.

Best of 1980-1990 :wink3:

Totally forgot about the countless best ofs haha

Not really countless best-ofs, compared to other bands.

Only U2-18 was a complete and utter rip-off

haha thanks guys! =) I'll check it out this weekend when I get the time. Was watching the Slateland concert on Youtube the other day, which was AWESOME! Esp loved 'where the streets have no name'..

Oh totally! I didn't bother buying it

:shocked2: 12 more years of touring? Will Live Nation also be covering Nursing Home costs?

Hey if Springsteen can still tour, U2 will be able to as well. They could come out in their wheelchairs and I'd still go :laugh3:

I'm a sucker and bought the Deluxe edition for the Milan DVD only.

U2 - New Album & Tour.

In the midsts of the news of a new U2 album i was wondering how many people like the band? And how many of you are planning on getting the new album? And inevitibly going to the concert when they inevitibly tour (probly in 2009-2010). I heard that there concerts are an amazing expierence. I know that there stages are out of this world. I've started to save up for the concert already because someone told me that prices are expensive, and i want floor seats. :-)

So how many of you like the band, and are waiting for there new album and tour?

-Jesse-

I absolutely love U2! Pretty disappointed the album got pushed back to 2009, as its already been 4 years since we've heard new U2. Regardless, if they've hit a "songwriting vein" as said, then let them write all they want so we get some super-quality tracks.

They're also out of this world live. Saw them in 2005 in Philadelphia. Really my first proper rock concert, in terms of music that I myself like. I even sat BEHIND the stage and thought it was incredible. They're the only band that can play an end stage, have people sit behind them, and still make everyone feel a part of the show. (Also, those seats were only $49.50...not too bad for a concert these days--though it was only because Ticketmaster sucks that I got stuck back there.)

Well usually U2 cost around £200 (about the price of a wii) for a ticket.

So I don't think id bother.

i used to really like them, but i think i just grew tired of them (though i still love Achtung Baby). i'll probably get the album sometime, but i'm not going to rush out and buy it

I LOVE U2! I'm definitely going to be buying the new album when it comes out, and like you, I'm already planning on saving money to get tickets. I haven't been to any of their concerts yet but I know it'd be an experience I'll never forget! Seeing U2:3D was a pretty awesome experience in itself; I can only imagine how much more so it'll be being at an actual concert!!!

haha thats soooo similar to me. i also saw them in '05 and sat behind the stage and it was still a great concert. definately one of the best i've been to. i haven't really been hearing much about their next album so does anyone care to fill me in...?

They were my favourite band for a long time. I still really enjoy them, and will buy their album as soon as it comes out.

Their concert I went to on the Vertigo tour is the best concert I have ever gone to.

They are simply fantastic!! To sustain that level of enthusiasm is remarkable, and with great sincerity - perhaps the next album will perk more interest? Anyhow, they are the stuff of legend.

Basically, there was just a lot of talk that it would be coming out the end of this year, like November or December. And also rumors that the album is called 'No Line on the Horizon.' But then they came out of the official site with this:

http://www.u2.com/news/index.php?mode=full&news_id=2249

So, looks like we're forced to wait another few months! But if this quote is any indication, Bono thinks it to be scary good:

‘The last two records were very personal, with a kind of three piece at their heart, the primary colours of rock - bass, guitars and drum. But what we’re about now is of the same order as the transition that took us from The Joshua Tree to Achtung Baby.’

I love them... Cant wait for the new album. I too am a little "miffed" that the release date got pushed back but I am still gonna buy it right away.

Def buying the album and going to (hopefully) more than one concert and (again hopefully) also outside my country, better if it's Ireland :nice:

My first proper rock concert was U2 in 2005 as well, tough I was second row at Edge's B-stage..it's still the most amazing concert I've ever been to

I will prob download the album and prob won't see them, as they have a habit of charging way over the odds

u2 wont be realing next album till early 09

not grammy eligable....they wanted 2009 to be "their" year
