hmm interesting. 2008 has been such a great year for music.

at least next year we got LP12 and cp's LP5 - wooooooooo!

I enjoy a lot U2 and i'd like to see them at a concert. I'll wait up to 2009 if they intend to start a tour, hoping they'll have a stopover in Paris. :)

Which U2 songs would you recommend to me? I am not too sure which album is best as well. So, I thought maybe someone on here could help me? :)

You could buy "18 SINGLES" that is a great CD. I've got it. Every song is quite good.

This is a good idea. My fav is Achtung Baby, been a fan since Boy

Definitely go with all the other suggestions, but also try this:

It's a beautiful song and is one of their (kind of) lesser known ones.

U2 -18 is bland and boring.

Go with the best of decade ones.

Well here is what albums I would get to start off (in order):

Best of 1980-1990

The Joshua Tree

All That You Can't Leave Behind

Achtung Baby

That should get you started off.

But I do really highly recommend starting off with the best of 80-90

Best of 80-90 covers classic U2, before they decided to do a radiohead and reinvent themselves

^ When Thom Yorke still had bleached California hair :P

David = Idiot.

But really, Pop would have been better if they didn't book the shows before they finished doing the album, so they didn't have to rush it

^ I completely agree with that. I still love the album....but it could have been so much more.

Don't even bother with The Best of 1990-2000...

Boy actually their 4th Best album, give it a listen...belive me it's like nothing I've ever heard

u2 thread! :)

cant wait to hear their new album, what a pity theyre postponed it to 2009..

Considering u2's like, the third most popular band among coldplayers (coldplay and radiohead being the others), I'm surprised there's been no activity on this board in months.

Anyway, IMO The Joshua Tree is one of the greatest albums of all-time period. I also have war and How to dismantle an atomic bomb, but it's almost annoying how many albums they have because I can only afford to get so many at a time, but I got Achtung Baby and The Unforgettable Fire yesterday. I've only gone through them once, so I can't possibly judge properly, but I have a never-ending appetite for edge's chiming, reverberated guitar and epics like bad and with or without you.

Q: Have u2 revealed anything new about their bazillionth LP? Like track names, descriptions, etc.? (like the stuff we got from prospekt during the lead up to VLV)

^

There has been no activity on the U2 Forums themselves!!!!

U2 have been continiously letting us down for the past couple of months. I really hope they make it up to us. :(

And the answer to your question: Bono was playing some music at his home in France over the summer, some songs leaked, I heard them before they started to magically disappear...The album may be called, "No Line on The Horizon", rumored tracks include, "One Love" (or "For Only One Love"/"For Only Your Love"), "Trees of Lebannon", "No Line on The Horizon", "Moment of Surrender", 'One Bird" (enough with the "One's" B.Vox)...

and

get ready for this

"Sexy Boots", (Or "Get your Boot's On", no one really knows)

^

Well, at one time in both of their lives...they had mullets

probably! no line in the horizon is set to be released on early 2009 - the first single probably will be released on december/january
