June 12, 200422 yr i like the wall because 1) I grew up with it [3 years old watching it once or twice every day] 2)Its so different 3) There are many things in it that can be easily passed by...
June 12, 200422 yr i've been really meaning to get into Pink Floyd over last couple of years, but i've not really quite managed it. i've heard the "Wish You Were Here" album, and I loved it. Of the others I've heard 'Comfortably Numb' and 'Money' are some of my all time favourite songs. There are more tracks i've heard as well (e.g. Another Brick In The Wall, Interstellar Overdrive). But I've never really taken the time to actually sit down and get into them properly, when I really should.
September 9, 200421 yr Roger Waters This is your thread to appreciate the genius of Roger Waters.... some great lyrics of his to start off! We Salute you Radio Kaos....Tide is Turning I used to think the world was flat Rarely threw my hat into the crowd I felt I had used up my quota of yearning Used to look in on the children at night In the glow of their Donald Duck light And frighten myself with the thought of my little ones burning But oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning The tide is turning Satellite buzzing through the endless night Exclusive to moonshots and world title fights Jesus Christ imagine what it must be earning Who is the strongest, who is the best Who holds the aces, the East or the West This is the crap our children are learning But oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning The tide is turning Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning Now the satellite's confused 'Cos on Saturday night The airwaves were full of compassion and light And his silicon heart warmed To the sight of a billion candles burning Oo, oo, oo, the tide is turning Oo, oo, oo, the tide is turning The tide is turning Billy I'm not saying that the battle is won But on Saturday night all those kids in the sun Wrested technology's sword from the hand of the War Lords Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning The tide is turning Sylvester The tide is turning. "That's it!" [Morse Code:] "Now the past is over but you are not alone Together we'll fight Sylvester Stallone We will not be dragged down in his South China Sea of macho bullshit and mediocrity"

September 9, 200421 yr Roger Waters is a brilliant lyricist, it's too bad he became completely full of himself and turned into a huge asshole. :P
September 10, 200421 yr Pink Floyd Kicks himself !! I got brought up on some of their stuff. !!! Infact I think its one of the first ever tunes I ever knew !!
November 28, 200421 yr Pink Floyd pupils claim royalties http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4047533.stm Former schoolchildren who sang on Pink Floyd's 1979 single Another Brick in The Wall have begun action for unpaid royalties. :stunned:
November 29, 200421 yr didn't they have some parents before that could have told them before that they are worth something?
November 29, 200421 yr unfortunately i don't think any of the kids ever had a mother or father on a serious note though, i really hate the way of the courts now...it's becoming as increasingly anal as the American ways are. In which you can pretty much claim for anything or try and suckle at every little law and try and get a case from it. like the American guy, who was in London, who ran onto the back of a London bus, but then, due to his own fault, fell off. He claimed a LOT of money, and now they're changing the idea of those types of buses. How Stupid!! the fact HE fell off the back, with no real injuries, and it was his own judgement to get on the back of the bus...he feels like he was wrongly done too, and sued! And the Old Red Buses soon will never be again! Anyway, not wanting to take the thread away from the Story...I don't think they should be able to claim any money at all.
December 3, 200421 yr :stunned: my dad just told me that yesterday. they are adults now, why they ask for it more than 20 years later? they could do it when they become adults not now.
May 29, 200521 yr Pink Floyd Any Pink Floyd fans out there? Wish You Were Here, is their greatest album imo, even though a lot of people only think of Dark Side of the Moon.
May 29, 200521 yr I loooooooooove Pink Floyd. Piper at the Gates of Dawn is my hands down favorite (best debut album ever, perhaps?), though their 70's stuff is quite good as well (Meddle is my favorite of that bunch, and, of course, I don't even have to say anything about how great Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here are, not to mention Atom Heart Mother). The timing of this thread is funny, because I just listened to Pink Floyd for the first time in months last night.
