Yep. I discovered them thanks to Chris mentioning them in X&Y era interviews as an influence (or notably in Toronto 2006 "God gave you style and led you higher/God gave you the music of the Arcade

Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

i actually found Neon Bible to be alot more accesible than The Funeral. nonetheless both are stellar records.

Nominate it for battle of the albums

will do. i'm not nominating coldplay or radiohead cuz i know they'll get votes..

ditto

I might have to nominate Kid A, but if I don't have to I won;t.

^nominate the bends. that's my favorite radiohead one

I saw this fabulous band on the TV show "Austin City limits" yesterday night. I didn't know who they were until I looked it up on the show's website, and I was like "that's Arcade Fire, awesome!!!!"

If you haven't watched the DVD yet, do your favour and head over to pitchfork.tv and watch it. Its up this week only and its spectacular.

i've posted the link before your post, idiot

fucking hell... that was amazing.. I really got to see them live someday.

wow Q magazine have absolutely slammed the dvd. from memory they gave it 1.5 stars!!

Did they actually watch it?

Thats brutal.

I absolutely loved it. It had some really cool and nonconventional ideas. If they were expecting a straight up concert DVD, then I can understand their dissapointment.

I really think it's great. It's got this amazing atmosphere. I've wathced it twice now.

would like to read the Q article because I don't really get their rating at all.

Oh didn't notice that post :P

I'm thinking of buying it. Its something that I wouldn't mind watching a few more times.

I honestly was almost in tears when Win did that acoustic solo version of My Body Is a Cage. That song is very personal for me, and hard to listen. And that version just about put me over the edge, so emotional.
