Yep. I discovered them thanks to Chris mentioning them in X&Y era interviews as an influence (or notably in Toronto 2006 "God gave you style and led you higher/God gave you the music of the Arcade

Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

People still listen to Radio?

:D

i'm listening to radio right now

Of course!!! The only radio I listen to, unless I'm stuck in the backseat of a car with people who won't put it on

...otherwise what? I could take you.

EDIT: until the hip hop show comes on, which it just did... then the radio gets turned off.

you're a queenslander. enough said. :P

wish triple j would stop acting like they are the only people in the world to have the new arcade fire songs. i bet you theyre just ripping it off youtube or rapidshare like the rest of us.

OH! Don't start...

One of my flatmates is convinced I'm a Victorian because I spent a year down there... I'm kinda in no-man's land here :freak:

Haha, yeah... but they're like that with any new music. I don't actually know of any other radio stations that I can get that would play their new songs, tbh.

I think you may have misunderstood me. I was questioning what people thought of there being electronic sounds in the album, not me stating disaproval in the use of electronics.

I have the album cover as my avatar for several reasons. Firstly because I love the artwork. Secondly, because I love this band. And thirdly, because I have been needing a new avatar for a while now and it seemed suitable. I also have no doubt that I will enjoy this album in one form or the other.

I hope that clears up any confusion that you may of experience from my post.

As for track placing, I believe Month of May will probably be around the middle or the album, between two faster paced songs. The suburbs I think would be good at the start or towards the closing of the album. I do agree that Month of May would sound great live. And for the record, I do enjoy the suburbs a lot more than month of may it i have a feeling that it grow on me.

FTW

"At the start or towards the closing of the album" could basically be anywhere, except for the middle part of the album.

Haha, whatever you think.

I'm really liking ready to start at the moment. Very catchy song.

Yes it is very catchy!!!Great song!

^ yeah just saw that, WTF

Arcade Fire's forthcoming new album 'The Suburbs' could be set to be released with eight different covers.

According to reports on MBVMusic.com, the Canadian group's third studio effort will be released with multiple cover designs.

They go on to say that the ADA (Alternative Distribution Alliance) have listed such information about the band's upcoming August 2 release, but neither the group's official website or record label have confirmed the allegations.

Earlier this month (June 7), Arcade Fire previewed 'The Suburbs' live with a comeback gig in Granada Theatre, in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

:P I decided not to pre-order this album just incase there is a deluxe edition later in stores or something. That happened with Broken Social Scene AND Stars. The only two albums I have ever pre-ordered both end up having an extra EP in stores.

I took that picture. :awesome: Jo took this one though:
