Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

Oh fuck ! They just added a date in my town BUT I'M BROKE right now :bigcry:!!!! The tickets are not on sale yet but I think they'll be soon and I'll still be broke :( :(. Besides I don't want to go alone, and my friends are either busy, not interested or away in that period. That's really fucked up !! :bigcry:
GO. This is an order. Borrow money from your parents and go alone if you have to. You don't want to miss one of the best live acts.. ever. Seriously.

AND WHERE IS THAT *$%*@ SHOW NEAR ME? THIS JUST ISN'T FAIR. AT ALL. :bigcry:

Stoopid Arcade Fire. All I get is Wilco and Phil. :bigcry:

Whaaaat? You just can't miss that :bigcry:

Nooo!

Is there no way you could go by yourself, if you had the money??

I KNOW !!!!!!!!! I freaking want to go believe me !

Ok, I think I figured something out : my birthday is november 14th and the gig is november 26th so I think I'll go talk to my mom and be like "Can it be my birthday present??" *puppy dog eyes* !

And yeah, I can go on my own after all, they sure are worth it !

Poor Laura, it's not fair to you indeed! Be patient I guess or... :idea2: come live in France  lol

I might be crazy enough to go to the Dusseldorf gig on my own though. Train and hostel are quite cheap and it's not that far away.

I'm kind of surprised at the size of some of these venues. When did AF get this big?

Sooooooo, is anyone planning on going to any of these newly announced shows?

Wilco is still pretty amazing.

True, but Arcade Fire beats the hell out of 98% of all bands, including Wilco.

I'm sure I've said this before, but the AF shows I saw in 2007 were among the best live shows I've ever seen.

I've seen over a hundred different artists so that should say something.

So I'm not being stupid by spending $500 to see them on Monday? (that includes hotel, transportation, etc.)

Eh, you might be a bit crazy, but not stupid. :D It's worth it.

Makes my maybe jaunt to Dusseldorf look really cheap in comparison. I would spend €150 at most.

I guess the pathetic thing is I'm spending all this money yet seeing them at the end of the month. I just want to get away from home for a few days though.

I get that and I don't think it's pathetic at all. Who cares about money? It's not important. Experiences and memories are. Plus, it's great to get away for a few days to clear your head.

But this is coming from someone who spent all her money on travelling last year. I'm biased, but I would much, much rather have great experiences and memories than a heap of money.

Haha Jo, if I do meet them I'll try to remember just for you!

Wilco and Arcade Fire are definitely 2 of the best live bands ever.

Jeff Tweedy is one of the best frontman ever.

Have you ever watched the Jeff Tweedy DVD? It is quite something.
