For those of you who haven't seen it yet, here's the lineup for the Live 8 concerts on July 2:

- LONDON: Mariah Carey, Coldplay, Dido, Keane, Elton John, Annie Lennox, Paul McCartney, Muse, Razorlight, REM, Scissor Sisters, Snow Patrol, Stereophonics, Sting , Joss Stone, Robbie Williams, U2, Velvet Revolver, Bob Geldof, the Killers, Madonna, The Cure

- BERLIN: A-ha, Bap, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Die Toten Hosen, Peter Maffay, Brian Wilson

- PHILADELPHIA: Will Smith, Bon Jovi, Maroon 5, Dave Mattews Band, Sarah McLachlan, Rob Thomas, Keith Urban, Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, 50 Cent, Kaiser Chiefs, P. Diddy

- PARIS: Andrea Bocelli, Craig David, Calo Gero, Jamiroqaui, Kyo, Yannick Noah, Youssou N'Dour, Placebo, Axelle Red, Johnny Halliday, Manu Chao, Renaud

- ROME: Irene Grandi, Faith Hill, Jovanotti, Tim McGraw, Nek, Laura Pausini, Duran Duran, Vasco Rossi, Zucchero

I'm going to go ahead and say that with the very notable exception of Stevie Wonder (a living legend in his right), we here in Philly really got the ass end of this whole deal. I mean... Rob Thomas? Bon Jovi? P. Diddy? Will Smith may be from Philly, but that doesn't mean he doesn't suck either.

But I'm still pretty excited. Because it's in Philly. Up yours New York and LA and everywhere else in North America. :P And because it's taking place literally a ten minute walk from where I live! :o How cool is that?

Still though... I envy those of you in the London area.

bwahahahaha will smith? maroon 5? fiddy, diddy, dmb, rob thomas?

poor peed :(

I was impressed with Geldof's interview on ITV this evening, he even got away with saying Bloody on primetime news

ok (inserting my assertive beligerant 2nd "self" here)

why not RADIOHEAD? surely they had to have been at least considered, were they? :(

Still though... I envy those of you in the London area.

you should ALWAYS envy us in the London area :D :wink3: :P

i am most probably definitely going!

Well I hope I win one of the tickets

But is it just gonna be one ticket you win in the lottery or a group?

im like 20 minutes away from philly...so i might go to that one...even though id rather take a plane out to london to see that amazing show...but dave is gonna be in philly...so thats good....but only to play 2 songs because he has a show in new york :(

It's gon' be craaaaaaaaazy. I went to the Art Museum today and was standing on the steps trying to imagine 1,000,000 people in front of me.

And according to the guy booking the Philadelphia show, major acts will be added in the coming days, and the bill here will be "as significant or more significant" than the one in London. Which I find hard to believe. I mean... we definitely need some more big acts for the Philly show (seriously... Will Smith?), but who's actually left to book that would make it as big as the London show? Did they secretly re-animate John Lennon and Elvis Presley? Did they invent a time machine so they could book U2 when they were actually good?

And that stinks that you need tickets for the London show. I guess there's no other way they could really do that one, but I can't even imagine the absurd prices the scalpers and ebay auctioneers will be asking for.

Live 8 may be coming to Ottawa, for those that are interested.

I really really really want to go to the London gig! :stunned:

You forgot the Ireland list

Can I play at that one? I'll bring my sandwich maker and a bango...the music we make is magical!

OK! But me and my washboard shuffling are going to headline :wacky:

Tea and crumpets are by the lake

Calo Gero, Jamiroqaui, Kyo, Yannick Noah, Youssou N'Dour, Placebo, Axelle Red, Johnny Halliday, Renaud

:disappointed:

what a shame :dozey:
