At least Bloc Party's songs are exciting and enthusiastic. They have not yet had all their youthful energy sucked out of them. And I agree that the songs have no real staying power, bar one or two, but it's a bad sign for Coldplay when a band with a debut record has a song ('Compliments') that outclasses everything on their supposedly refined third album. Picaresque is not that great, and I actually don't like the Decemberists hugely, but... still better than Coldplay. And there are numerous EPs on that list. If you want strictly proper albums, I can substitute others in.

June 10, 200521 yr Ok guys i am gonna say something really important to you all so you betterPAY ATTENTION Everyone has different taste in music. This is mostly due to the fact that everyone comes from different backgrounds, everyone comes from different countries and everyone has different cultures. As well as this everyone is a different age. Right now you probably think i am stating the obvious. However people have a habit of over looking the obvious. So i am reminding everyone of this fact. So far what i have seen from you people is everyone bitching about what other people like. Socrates dont like Coldplay and everyone else here does. He thinks they are bland and boring and only have 2 different types of song. And everyone else thinks he is talking crap. I see a lot of bitching about singers like Britney Spears and boy bands like blue. This is pointless. The singer and the band i have just mentioned are mostly liked by teenagers and children. It is a fact and therefore the majority of older people can see through this act, but they are for kids. Coldplay itself is an every person band. They have done some good songs but they are forgettable in the long run. They are not an experimental band and they might never be. They are good at what they do and they have a large fanbase. This is all true too. And please dont flame me for saying it because i like them for what they are. Radiohead is another band that has been mentioned quite regularly.They are an experimental band that is allways trying different things. They are good for what they are as well. But you people seem to lose sight that everyone is different and that everyone likes different things. So you just go and insult each other and jeer at each other. You got to learn to accept what other people are into. It dont matter if you dont like what the other person likes. To bully and cajool and try and change the oppinion of someone who likes something you do not like is pointless and to be honest childish. So at the end of the day if you do need to get an oppinion across then at least try to not sound like a childish twat in doing so.

After that i started listening to other stuff and now i cant remember the lyrics to Billy Jean :rolleyes: Coldplay for me are a similer sort of thing.
