... here I am in my little bubble

My favourite lyrics change from day to day, I can't choose only one. But today it's this line.

we live in a beautiful world

  • 2 weeks later...

well off Viva era. 'bury me in armour' & 'like a puppet on a lonely string...'

Oh God....asking me to define my favorite Coldplay lyrics is like asking me to decide which of my children is my favorite!!! AHHHH! :D

I agree with the poster who mentioned that every song, every chord, every riff is perfect. Every song of Coldplay's is poetry and deep and brilliant.

I'm also glad to see that so many of you LOVE Amsterdam! Amsterdam has prophetic lyrics.

Let's see....

-"For you I bleed myself dry"

-"Those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in my head. And since I fell for that spell, I am living there as well. Time is short and I'm sure...there must be something more."

-"I don't wanna die on my own here tonight......and here I lie on my own in a seperate sky." (I hope that when I die, Prospekt's March is playing in my head)

i cant answer on this question.

now im listenin' 'see you soon' and i think its the best from the best lyrics, but later i'll listen to for example politik and then i'll be thinking that this one is the best.

politik's lyrics are magical and beautiful. for two weeks i love this song. and im angry for myself that i didnt appreciate this one :/

probably politik's lyrics is the best, but i dont think so.. ;p

all are the best ;d

I've been listening to "A Rush of Blood to the Head" a lot lately ...

The Scientist: "Tell me you love me, Come back and haunt me, Oh, what a rush to the start."

Amsterday: "Come here, oh my star is fading, And I swerve out of control; And I swear I waited and waited, I've got to get out of this hole. But time is on your side, It's on your side now, Not pushing you down and all around, It's no cause for concern."

Warning Sign: "A warning sign, I missed the good part then I realised that I started looking and the bubble burst. I started looking for excuses. Come on in, I've got to tell you what a state I'm in. I've got to tell you in my loudest tones that I started looking for a warning sign."

And since I'm a runner, I love the line in Lovers in Japan: "Runners, until the race is run"

I do think Lovers In Japan has some of the best lyrics. "Tonight maybe we're gonna run/Dreaming of the Osaka sun"

"Gravity release me

And don't ever hold me down

Now my feet won't touch the ground."

When you try your best but you don't suceed

'fix you' is not a song, it is art - at its best.

When you try your best but you don't succeed

When you get what you want but not what you need

When you feel so tired but you can't sleep

Stuck in reverse.

And the tears come streaming down your face

When you lose something you can't replace

When you love someone but it goes to waste

Could it be worse?

especially these parts: they touched my heart...

Probably just the whole lyrics of The Scientist, but I really like these parts:

Questions of science

Science and progress

Do not speak as loud as my heart

Tell me you love me

Come back and haunt me

Oh, and I rush to the start

Running in circles

Chasing our tails

Coming back as we are

Nobody said it was easy

Oh, it's such a shame for us to part

Nobody said it was easy

No one ever said it would be so hard

I'm going back to the start

I'm getting goosebumps everytime I hear this song..

And I guess Chris also is thinking really deep about The Scientist (See avi:P)

And you are not wrong to

Ask who does this belong to

It belongs to all of us

when the future is architectured by a carnaval of idiots on show you better lie low

god gave me style and gave me grace

for you id bleed my self dry

time is on your side

yeah everybody's here got somebody to lean on

"He said I'm going to buy this place and burn it down

I'm going to put it six feet underground"

"He said I'm going to buy a gun and start a war"

Rush Of Blood To The Head...Lyrically AMAZING! Love the song and the lyrics continue their high standards on the next track! Wonderful 2 songs.

I agree on that start a war line, one of my fav ever

  • 4 months later...

my favorite has to be "i dont wanna fight the battle from beginning to end i dont want a cycle of recycled revenge".

What good is it to live with nothing left to give, forget but not forgive, not loving all you see :D

"Now the sky could be blue. I don't mind.

Without you it's a waste of time."

Strawberry Swing

"So come over, just be patient and don't worry."

Death and All His Friends

"I dive in at the deep end. You become my best friend.

I want to love you, but I don't know if I can."

X&Y

The sky could fall, could fall on me. The parting of the sea.

But you mean more, mean more to me. Than any color I can see."

Low

So meet me by the bridge.

Oh meet me by the lane.

When am I going to see.

That pretty face again?

A Rush Of Blood To The Head

In a bullet-proof vest.

With the windows all closed.

I'll be doing my best.

I'll see you soon.

See You Soon

Those are terrific options, but there are much more as great as those

"Nothing matters except life and the love you make"

-Crests of Waves...that one pretty much sums it up ;)

The sky could fall, could fall on me. The parting of the sea.

But you mean more, mean more to me. Than any color I can see."

Low

Whenever I hear this line, I hope the "color" he's talking about is Yellow and he's like referring to the song, saying that you mean more to me than my music and fame or whatever. Which is probably not so deep and not what he's talking about. But I always kind of hope it is.

"I want to love you but I don't know if I can."

So very simple, but so very gorgeous. From X&Y, of course.

"Say you'll come and set me free,

Just say you'll wait for me."

'Til Kingdom Come.

Also, the chorus of Harmless is just gorgeous.

"And it was harmless,

It couldn't hurt you...

And you were helpless.

I know you'll get through.'

Aww. :(

"One day the sun will come out."

Lovers in Japan

"You're not just anyone; you're a ladder to the sun."

Again, another chorus. However, it's just beautiful. Ladder to the Sun.

"Oh, my star is fading."

So sad. I could relate to this for a long, long time. This song meant a lot to me. Amsterdam of course.

And who could forget:

"I love it when you come over to my house."

Hahhaah! 8D

"There we were dying of frustration

singing 'Lord lead me not into temptation.

But it's not easy when she turns you on

since they've gone" Yes

"So if you want me you can have me

take me baby grab me

yeah if you want me you can have me" Ladder To The Sun

"Revolutionaries wait

for my head on a silver plate

just a puppet on a lonely string

aw who would ever want to be king?" Viva La Vida

"Do you feel like a puzzle

you can't find your missing piece" Talk

"But I promise you this

I'll always look out for you

yeah that's what I'll do

My heart is yours

it's you that I hold on to." Sparks

"Signed World's Sexiest Vegetarian 2005" Shrimp and Aubergine

and basically all of the lyrics to "Fix You" and "Yellow" and "Don't Panic"

I like this part very much:

"You might be a big fish,

In a little pond,

Doesn't mean you've won

'Cause along may come,

A bigger one"
